This drama since episode 24 has made a surprising good turn, after the fiasco nonsense of the affair between the old man from the police station with the FL. I'm up to ep 28 and it's been quite entertaining since ep 24. It really depicts well the most despicable family greed culture that existed in the old times...I hope that by now, we no longer have that type of culture that we saw in the FL's brother and sister's in law.

I give this drama a 7 and that's being very generous!...this drama started in its first 3-4 episodes very well but man, it went downwards, with such a trashy script. It's all old actors (including actresses) and everyone falling in love with the old FL. There's only one young actor there but the funny thing is that he uses a wick 😄😄😄. Tony Yang has so bad acting in this drama....nevertheless, i started this drama and I am following it although doing ff here and there for now..but boy, if it's a 7 for me...the gold of this drama are its 2 ost songs...I love the opening song, it's so good! I think the same singer sings both of them.

There are some overseas fans who may not know about what happened in May this year about the project Ting Feng Ling that was rumored to be Xu Kai's next project. Hopefully this post can help you get a better idea.

"Ting Feng Ling" is adapted from the novel "Tang An Wu Ming," named after its protagonist, Shi Wuming. First, let's take a look at how the series "Ting Feng Ling" is described in its official filing (Picture 2) that was granted in November 2024. However, the promotional synopsis on the platform Mango TV (Picture 3) differs from the official filing significantly. Picture 4 shows the major differences.

Yu Zheng posted on Weibo after fans noticed the differences and said that he wasn't aware of the change, but in Picture 4 we see that the filming approval was granted on November 1st last year, and the project has been called Ting Feng Ling all along instead of "Tang An Wu Ming", which indicates the focus on the second male lead (because Ting Feng Ling is named after the organization name of the second male lead), and the fact that the story has changed from a case-solving focus to the relationship between the two male leads.

Such a setup clearly shows that the production team needs Xu Kai in order to get approval to start the project. However, in order to prop up the second male lead, they’ve arranged a parasitic, binding collaboration, which is very unfair and disadvantageous to Xu Kai. Since May of this year, there has been a significant amount of bundled marketing promotional content online, many of which contain borderline Boy's Love (BL)-themed suggestive wording.

Yu Zheng also stated that if Xu Kai rejected the project, he would have to pay liquidated damages. That was in May, the parties may have signed a letter of intent at most, and there is no way for us to know if Xu Kai actually signed anything related to Ting Feng Ling. Even if the letter of intent was signed, a formal contract would typically only be signed, at the earliest, about one month before filming begins. Therefore, Yu Zheng's remarks sounded more like an attempt to pressure fans into accepting it, even though the project is clearly not a wise choice for Xu Kai.

Now let’s look at how this connects to what began on August 22. Many suspect that Xu Kai is being forced by Yu Zheng to accept this project. If Xu Kai insists on turning it down, Yu Zheng appears to be trying to spin the situation as though Xu Kai has been “replaced”—when in fact, Xu Kai may never have intended to take it in the first place.

Why is Yu Zheng so determined to push Xu Kai into Ting Feng Ling? If Xu Kai were to sign on, he would be unable to terminate his contract with Yu Zheng at this time. Back in March, reports surfaced that Xu Kai was seeking to leave his current agency. But if Yu Zheng succeeds in locking him into Ting Feng Ling, Xu Kai would lose that opportunity.

The key point is that Yu Zheng does not want Xu Kai to leave the company unscathed. Yu Zheng has a reputation for spreading damaging rumors about actors who attempt to part ways with his agency.

For those of us, wondering about the situation of Xu Kai with the upcoming drama, "Ting Feng Ling", I came across an article published by one of XK's alasos, named, "XuKai4Life"...so this article is a highly credible one. Below is the text of such an article.

I didn't find this was the case. Truly, Xu Kai had more screen times than all of the other Male supporters. Only on ep 36 and 37, they had the supporting characters more to close up their stories. But TXW was also a lot less in those 2 episodes, maybe 10 minutes more than XK. Overall, Xu Kai had a good amount of screen times in most of the episodes; I'd say at least 30 out of 38, (if not more), in which, he had a good amount of screentimes. Of course, when he's on the screen, the story flies, so maybe that made it feel that way 😄. In the first 2-4 episodes, they had him a lot less, and maybe in episodes 8-9, but afterwards, it was alright...

He has done several modern dramas: Best Choice Ever (a CEO role as well) a non costume AMA, etc...of course you could see the dramas that he has done and future ones on his profile here😎

If you're in Canada, it is released. If you're in US, then Disney+ is the only one that has it. However, you can access through pirate sites if you can find out one out there. They definitely made it hard for the people in US to enjoy this drama for free.

😄😄😄😄 Twisted in Real Life...I thought the director and the producer's intentions were to create in the audience a feeling of sympathy for the character and thus be able to promote the actor's work in this drama...if you look at how he died.

All actors in C-entertaintment, smoke. Smoking should not be an indicative whether a person is good or bad. It's not healthy but actors use cigarettes to stay up and to calm their anxieties. Actors sometimes need to stay up 24x7.

Lui Tai Zhen by Classic Chinese standards, she's ugly...eyes too small, lips too big😄 and height too tall, with feet too big! To be in her era...she's definitely an ugly demon 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I love the OST by Zhou Shen (Charlie) and this other one by a lady that sometimes is played at the end...but overall, all OST were beautiful!

You can watch Best Choice Ever with Xu Kai as CEO as well. The genre is family though...it's not as romantic as this one.

No comments😄...I think I made my position very clear about his looks all these times...and if the truth is to be told...this is the first drama that I've watched in which he was looking unpleasantly bad in several of those eps... to be nice...and I have watched every single dramas of his when he's the ML. Regardless, I will always be his fan #1. However, I wished he'd gain about 5 lbs from when he filmed that drama, MR. I thought he looked very very handsome when he did the promotional H!6 with TXW which was filmed way back in April of this year...so keeping that weight or even adding a couple more pounds to when he was at that time would make him a very very handsome actor, like probably #1 in looks🤓

Not only TXW was too skinny, XK was also too skinny. I saw people on the other platforms saying, wow, XK is way too skinny and for the 1st time, someone said, he's looking ugly...which i kind of agreed...cuz in some of these scenes he truly did because he was wayyyyy tooo skinny...on the other hand, in some other scenes where his face was fuller, he looked incredibly handsome like his times of old😍!

Well, he died because he wanted to die as WZ didn't need him anymore. In other words, he committed a suicide 😊 which is fine for most audience as most people detested that character...
