I have read the novel too, but I don't remember the ML to be that evil. He was mostly an as. hole.

At the end. I believe chapter 20 or 21 out of 22.

Not really love foursome. There is love for each one of the MLs, but different types of love. Hard to explain, without giving away too much.

TTEOTM wasn't that great to me, altough I love dark characters. Try out lost you forever, if you haven't already. The ending sux, but the ride is worth it. It has one of the best writting characters I ever came across, be it drama or book. A lot of bitting there too.

As of now it is quite different. Their relationship 's dynamic is also a bit different. I can' t compare them much, tbh.

Still feels too early though. There's no bond yet between them for him to get emotional. Not going to compare him to how he was în the novel, because the novel wasn't fleshed out, but still I feel as if he had a change of personality since yesterday. Feels out of character, I guess.

Well that's a side story I am looking forward to.

Where is the dark man from yesterday's episodes? ML's change of personality happened to quick. Why can't cdramas give us a gray anti hero till the end? He's becoming too soft too early.

I don't quite like this change. Been a while but as far as I remember, his obession over the female general was a big deal in the novel. And quite interesting actually, since he was torn between these 2 women. He wanted to possess one and have her by his side, while marry the other.

Can't wait for this drama, I really like this pair. The novel is not really a masterpiece, but it will be interesting to see this story on screen.

Why is the rating so low? I have seen the first 2 episodes and I thought they were really good, does it get worse later on or why?

I started both, the thing is I enjoy more jol, but I am in the mood for a palace drama more. I have seen 8 episodes of rotp, but I find it difficult to follow, not sure why. It's a bit confusing for me, but on the other hand it reminds me of the old sageuks that sadly they gave up making. I think empress ki is the last real sageuk I have seen and that's already 11 years old. I am going to push it for a few more episodes, maybe things will get less confusing. Took me 12 episodes for the untamed and now it's one of my all time favs. Thank you!

I don't believe it's about XY not being aware of her feelings, the way I see it there was nothing she could have done to keep him, XL chose his path long before he met her and he would have never giving up on his principles regardless of XY begging him to. She did try once, when she was WXL and things didn't end well. That's the beauty of their love, they both understood and respected each other and tried not to make things harder for the other, but the truth is that they were doomed from the get go.

The novel as well. I honestly believe that romance wise this story is about XL and XY, Jing is just a plot device.

Not only. IMO was also because of XL's death. She kinda forgave CX for killing Jing, remember that she ask him to spare XL's life on her wedding day.

I disagree. The only reason why he didn't end up with XY was because he didn't give up his path. In the novel it was clearly described how XY felt like she could live like that for forever and an eternity, during their FFB's days. Her relationship with Jing was never described in these terms. Also, XY is described as someone who never takes the first step, as someone who instead of having and losing, she would rather not have at all, yet giving that XL never made any promises to her, never even revealed his feelings to her, she took that first step with him when she sent him the crystall ball.
