They really turned Jing into a clown, yet again he failled to protect XY, he loses the battle to Hou and he ends up dying by just waiting there and starring at Hou and FFYY, without doing anything basically. I could honestly understand both XL and CX's reactions. That whole scene was funny in all the wrong ways.

Wow, I really don't know what novel did you read, but your way of interpreting things is so far from the novel I read. How can you say XL tried to raise a dare to XY, when in fact he purposely let Jing listen to the discussion in order for him to stop her going after him? He knew that now, by finding out the truth about the bugs, XY is one small step away from giving up everything and pursue XL into the ocean, she warred with herself even before XL showed up, and yet you still misinterpret everything according to what you want to believe. Amazing, really.

"Where’s Jing? Still in the gambling den?”

Xiang Liu smirked and looked down the long corridor “He’s been behind you this whole time.”

Jing walked forward and took Xiao Yao’s hand in his hand.

How XL's neck bites were described by CX through XY's bug

Yes, that's how yesterday's episode should have played out. So yes, I agree, the script is causing injustice to all the characters.

Jing does it to protect XY of XL? I totally disagree.

That's how things played out in the novel, the drama will most probably delete a lot of this stuff.

In the novel jing goes missing, believed to be death, XY marries him in his absence, gets a message to come meet him at the sea, but it's just a trap that almost got her killed. XL rescue her and they spend that night togheter in a very intimate manner (honestly that scene is described almost as a sex scene, without being a sex scene). Years pass, XL tries to kill CX, but ends up killing feng long. XY is scared of how close CX was to death and sad over fenglong, so she goes to meet XL, tries to kill him, but she doesn't have the heart to, XL hints to her that it wasn't Hou the mastermind behind Jing's death, so she starts investigate. Finds out it was CX, feels betrayed by the one person for whom she eas willing to do anything, kills herself, XL saves her yet again and also kills the bugs by losing 2 of his lifes, since they were impossible to remove otherwise. He also erase the memories she kept in the mirror.After she wakes up, she is getting ready to become the next royal mother, when jing shows up, being saved by XL without his knowledge. Jing and XY gets married, but they don't get to consume their wedding night, because XY passed out drunk. Afterwards she hears about XL's death, goes wild that even MiaoPu is frightened by her screams, rememorise the past, crying over the fact that she was only a deal to XL, yet she takes the decision that she wants to spend the rest of her life with jing on the ocean, on one of those islands that XL mentioned. She receive the big belly laughting doll, but she doesn't know that's XL present to her. Inside there's the crystal bell she sent him, but XL added a man taking the mermaid's streched hand, next to the "a place to go, someone to rely on, means to protect yourself" written next to it. It's impossible to open that doll though, so XY will never find out the truth.

Well, they did kinda keep the essence. They deleted scenes for both yaoliu and yaojing, but XL still shines, while Jing is still kept as a plot device.

That's exactly what I was thinking about. Jing finally got a 2 seconds kiss after being engaged to XY for years, but not much talk on how it was XL who payed his respects to XY's parents, while that picture of them slowly turned into a YaoLiu's one, thus making them a perfect parallel to their tragic love story. How can this be considered unrequited love? AhN ian and CX finally achieved what they most wanted, yet they both made a point out of not being happy. We have XY thinking of how what îs gained can't compensate for what it's lost, when suddenly XL appears în front of her. Ultimately she, too, will achieve her wish, but at what cost...

While I agree that în the novel Jing had more dialogule than in the drama, he still felt like a plot device to me and used mostly as a background for XY.

At this point I feel like Jing is just a side character, while all the focus is on CX, XY and XL. Even An Nian feels more important. Blink and you'll miss that kiss.

Honestly they were like 3 friends hanging out togheter, I didn't feel like XY was looking differently at Jing than the way she looked at her brother. Got no romantic vibes from that scene. And yes, both episodes were kinda boring, the sparks starts when XY meets XL, hopefully next episode.

Same, this part I didn't enjoy much in the novel either. I am ok with politics, as long as they are done right, but IMO Tong Hua's strenght lies elsewhere.

Lol, yea. Now that you mention it, I can see how CX is YaoJing's stalker, same way as Jing is for YaoLiu.

Kinda bored with today's episodes, they deleted or shortened more important scenes, while focusing too much on the politics. Looking forward for tomorrow's episodes, at least we got to see XL, which atm is the only highlight of the drama.
