Because if she knew the truth, I don't believe XY could ever smile again. Imo the doll represent XY and I forgot to mention, but the smilling doll has her eyes closed, l personally interpret this detail as not knowing the truth, thus being able to smile.

Rereading the novel ... well this is google translation. Still very clear..how much XY prayed for Jing.. She cut…
If you are at it, you can also check how long and how many rare materials XY used for the crystal ball she sent to XL.

For reference, before dying, XL returns the crystal ball to XY through SirBi, hidden in a smilling doll. The difference is he added a man to it, holding the mermaid's streched hand. He also wrote
"the ability to take care of yourself, someone to rely on, a place to go" next to it. XY though will never know what's hidden inside the doll, since XL made it unbreakable.

XL and XY are the mercouple, as shown in the crystal ball and in their ability to breath underwater. Jing is the human who ends up holding XY's streched hand.

Similar to the merman and the mermaid. The novel ends with a man holding the hand of the mermaid, but the man and the mermaid aren't same species. The merman and the mermaid are the true match.

There is also the ballad. I don t remember if they talked about it in the drama yet, but from the s2 trailer, I believe it s going to.

"The tree grows old on land together, the mandarin ducks die together in the water – the Lover’s Bug connects heart to heart and our lives, and it truly has no way to break the bug."

Actually Xiaoyao only hesitated when she was asked about Tushan Jing she never say 'No'? Even though she thought…
Or it would have made things too obvious.

I just fail to see why do you believe it makes more sense that the answer for that last question is Jing and not XL. I understand you're very much into YaoJing, but judging by your posts, you seem to have some literal comprehension, that's why I am kinda puzzled sometimes by your ideas. Imo the most obvious answer to that question is XL and I am saying this without any bias, regardless of me being into YaoLiu's ship. You keep finding all sorts of explainations for everything, but you fail to connect the dots and see the whole picture. If you read the novel, as you said you did, you would know that the only person XY felt she could go on with for an eternity is FB/XL. You dismiss so many details, while focusing only on what you want. I respect your opinion, but I honestly can't agree with it.

Also, I definetely didn't get the impression that XL thought that the answer to the last question is Jing. This is how the scene is described in the leaked script

"XL (tense): Tell me, with whom do you most wish to spend your life with?

Xiao Yao gripped her head violently, in such pain that her body was shaking.

XY: Ah! It hurts, hurts...

Xiang Liu quickly dispersed the spell, and Xiao Yao collapsed into his arms in pain. Xiang Liu caressed her head, his eyes concerned and apologetic.

XL: I won't ask anymore, won't ask anymore...

Xiao Yao closed her eyes wearily, her tightly knit brows slowly relaxing.

XY (murmuring): Why...
XL: Because...

Xiang Liu did not continue. His eyes were tender, as if everything he had kept deeply buried inside would finally overflow.
The poisonous bugs in both their hearts emitted a glow in unison with their heartbeats.
Xiang Liu stared at the unconscious Xiao Yao, his voice uncharacteristically gentle.

XL: Have a good sleep. You will forget everything after you wake."

If you believe the answer to the last question îs Jing, than why do you believe her reaction differed to the reaction she had when asked about either she is willing to marry Jing. Being hesitant îs a lot different than struggle în pain. What made the difference in your opinion?

ummmm are you watching the show because on the show it’s very clear Jing is the only one she wants to marry…
The novel says that her mind refused to let her say what her heart felt. The leaked script even had their bugs glowing în unison during that part, they probably didn't add them because it would have been too obvious.

We have to wait and see if the drama adapts this part of the novel or not (from chapter 48), but in the novel…
I don't remember, în the drama, XL will not get to revive XY at the end? Because I don't see how can a heartbreak bug save lifes.

Isn't it obvious that the pain XL felt was the pain of letting her go? Even Jing knows that, why do you believe he went to bow and thank XL?

No one is saying it’s not complex and that she doesn’t LOVE them all. in fact I repeatedly say she LOVES them…
If I am not mistaken, her mom and her dad was love at first sight. Same as XL and XY, they also met în the forest, when he heard Ah Heng sang. It's obvious their parents are used as a parallel to YaoLiu and TianEr and Skinny to Yaojing.

They aren't called love bugs, but lovers' bugs.
She never planted the bug în CX. Also, there is a difference between love and lovers.

I have a question for the readers of the novel series. Is the prequel novel about Xiaoyao's mother?
Yes.

It's a really good point.I remember discussion about shadows of every characters so... It makes sense
Well, as grandfather said, you can't have everything in life. If CX got the throne, but lost the one he truly loved, XY too, got the long term companion she longed for, but lost XL. One ended up with Ah Nian, the other with Jing.
