I've already loved the drama up to this episode, but I can say that episode 8 was the peak and marked the beginning of a whole new chapter for the story. I could barely contain my excitement while watching! I'm eagerly looking forward to what's next.
Still waters run deep, and Yan Shang is my cunning, enigmatic charmer. Maybe it won't be as intricately crafted as Zhang Hai, but I can definitely say that I'm getting the same kind of taste from it. This level of excitement definitely makes me want to keep watching.
Even with just these few episodes, I can already say that this drama is much deeper and higher in quality than my other currently airing drama, Where the Mask Ends. I'm so excited I can barely sit still! 😘👌💕🌺😍
The girl's evil side paired really well with the drama's antagonist, Dai Gao, the charismatic villain who has stolen our hearts in short dramas. Their scenes were so entertaining. I would have loved to see the two psychos together. That would have been so much fun! 😂😂😂
Yes, that would be wonderful. I love morally grey characters. Like yin and yang, there is a little darkness in every good person and a little goodness in every bad person. Especially the idea of “What if they were both evil?” would make for a plot that would be genuinely entertaining, exciting, and worth watching.
The drama has gotten better so far, but I can already see certain things becoming predictable. I have a feeling the unhinged one is destined to remain in the background. I would have loved to see her get a little beating from her older sister and finally come to her senses, like a well-behaved younger sister. At the same time, I don’t want the one who remains evil to be doomed to lose every time, as is the case in so many cliché dramas.
Yes, there are many examples; I was just referring to one of them. I've seen some, while others I haven't watched. This drama also has the good-versus-evil dynamic. Neither character may be exactly good-hearted, but that distinction is still there. In a story like this, it would be more interesting to watch the villain turn good, but the fact that the other character isn't exactly a saint either is a plus.
The same goes for The Man in the Iron Mask. I watched the dubbed version of La Traición a while ago, but I never finished it because the rest of the series was never released in my country. It was another interesting drama with a similar theme. Chinese vertical dramas are full of these stories, too. Maybe I've just seen this version of the trope so many times that I'd like to see the villain change for once. That's why I mentioned it.
We'll have to wait and see how things unfold. Maybe this one will turn out to be more interesting than the dramas I mentioned.

However, when you express them through insults, you cross the boundaries of the very freedom you're talking about. And your current comment is no exception. I wasn't referring to the twin motif itself, but rather to the specific trope where one of the twins is poor and good-hearted while the other is rich and evil, and they switch places. I brought up The Prince and the Pauper as the oldest example that came to mind, especially because of how closely this particular story resembles it.
That said, I do enjoy stories involving twins. It all depends on how they're written. In these Korean adaptations, the good lead character is always made the protagonist, while the evil one is portrayed as downright wicked. I would have loved to watch an adaptation like the American story, where the two lead characters switch places and both get to be leads with their own storylines.

Korean films and dramas, on the other hand, often emphasize the contrast between the two characters, leaning more heavily into the opposition between them. Honestly, I found the original novel and its adaptations much more enjoyable.
Another story with the same old plot again. The Prince and the Pauper. The Crowned Clown, Masquerade and a million other versions of it. The villain is always portrayed as extremely evil, while the innocent one is made the protagonist. And there’s never any character development. If the female lead is poor again, I already know I’m not going to like this story.

I’d love to see the whole cast reunite again, including the late older brother, the master, and the bear tribe. Here’s hoping they turn back time one more time so we can see them all together again!
I’m not sure if I agree. I watched some of his interactions on YouTube, and they didn’t seem to be in tune.
I’ve seen plenty of videos and pictures from the filming. They keep sharing scenes all the time. I really like the two of them together. I hope we get a nice drama where they have good chemistry. I’m surprised it still hasn’t been added here. This drama also ( Beyond the Badge ) was only added recently as well, even though it’s been filming for quite a while. It’s still relatively unknown in most places.
That would be too easy, but it’s still a possibility. 😂 The remaining possibilities are the head of the Hu family or some minister we haven’t seen yet. Or the Emperor himself. I don’t even want to consider that last possibility.
