I really appreciate people who translate & sub. I generally don't have an issue with errors. Unfortunately this line just sounds so severe. I would never say to someone "you are disgusting" - that's really mean. If a close friend did something pretty gross (like loudly burp) I'd say something like "that's gross" while laughing (and they'd be laughing too because that's how my friends and I act).

Thanks for the info. I think the better translation would be "creepy" (because he was really close to him). The "disgusting" sounded homophobic and I don't think that was the intention.

I re-watched the Check Out scene. At 33:20 Nine supports Daonuea when walking, indicating that Daonuea can't walk well by himself. At 33:40 Daonuea has the squinty, slow blinking drunk eyes and is making his words longer which sounds like drunk speech. Yes Nine asked if he was okay, but if a person is pretty drunk then they'll say that they are fine even if maybe they aren't fine. Nine then acquiesces and gives Daonuea more alcohol, though he's clearly had quite a bit. In contrast, Nine looks totally sober, we saw him drinking but people have different tolerances for alcohol so it can take more or less to get someone drunk. Nine makes the first move, he goes to kiss Daonuea, they kiss and Daonuea pushes him away at 35:15 People don't have to verbally say "stop", that is a clear non verbal cue that he's not into things. Then Nine ignores that non-verbal cue and proceeds to kiss him again with Daonuea kissing him in return. Drunk is a grey area but for me personally, I just really don't like the reluctant pursuee who is more drunk then leading to sex for the first time together.  I still gave this an 8.5 overall and seeing how I think I have 1 thing as 10 out of like 200 that's pretty high.

It is interesting to think that the pursuee has to be drunk, they can't show an interest in sex...I wonder if that dovetails into purity culture. A woman can't be a sexual creature, if she is, she's labeled a slut.

I mean Check Out Special Episode (the prequel to the series), I updated my review to reflect the MDL name. I put non con/dub con because I don't know how drunk each of them were. The main problem I have with both is that the pursuee shows reluctance and appears much more drunk than the apparently sober pursuer. I'd mind it less if they both were drunk and both showed equal interest. I re-watched that Jack & Jill part and I really want to know what Jill says at 6:21. He says, "no, no, no" but then I don't know the rest. Afterwards he walks away. Yes I agree that then it doesn't look like he's thaaatttt drunk because he walked up the stairs okay, I'd just rather this had played out differently. Knowing that research studies have found that about half of sexual assaults on college campuses (in the US) involve a situation in which the perpetrator, the victim, or both were consuming alcohol, makes me not enjoy watching this scenario on screen.

This is a first impression review, I'm going to update it later today/tomorrow after I finish the series, but actually it isn't going to change that much. Even the explanation in episode 3 was rushed and confusing. The time skips did not help.

I've seen this invasive behavior from BL in other countries too. I kind of understand taking pictures of celebrities (however, outside of official events, I think people should leave them alone), but it's so odd to me doing this to regular high school and college students (or older, this is happening in Tasty Florida). I'd chalk it up to misogyny but I've heard this does actually happen at high schools and colleges in at least Thailand, maybe other countries (although it sounds like the guys agree to it/benefit from it? and I'm still hoping women aren't taking their pics without consent and uploading to social media). I'm kind of glad that I'm old(er) and didn't grow up with such prevalent social media and where almost everyone has a camera/video recording device on them at all times...

Yeah, it feels somewhere in the realm of coercion/pressured/guilt tripped him... We'll see how things go in part 2, looks like it will be airing in the not too distant future.

I re-watched the scene and looked up the definition of coercion and changed the word to "pressured/guilted". The painter (King) says, "Take off your shirt" "Should I take it off for you" He then explains it's for creating the painting. "Forget it then, if you can't handle it" "But I'll remember you as a boy who makes empty promises."

I realize the guy pursuing Valen's sister is a joke character, I just personally think it's not funny. I didn't put it in the content warning part, I put it in the Room For Improvement (i.e. things I don't like) part. A person doesn't need to verbally tell someone to stop, body language plays a role and hers is very obvious that she's not interested/annoyed. The way it plays out (for me) is more stupid than problematic.

Oh jesus, why did they hire a 14 year old actor to play a college student? I really hope he's not a love interest (or where other characters think he's a love interest).

I don't think my review would necessarily stop someone from watching it. I gave it an 8 out of 10 and seeing how I haven't given anything a 10 yet, that's fairly high for me. I am a firm believer in putting content warnings on things because I don't know what trauma others have suffered and/or don't want to watch and I leave it up to the person to decide for themselves.

I'm sure this varies by state and country but in one state, "sexual intercourse or sexual contact with a person who is “incapable of consent by reason of being physically helpless or mentally incapacitated” constitutes a felony". Alcohol can definitely mentally incapacitate a person (I'm speaking from personal experience as I've been everywhere from mildly tipsy to almost black out drunk and there was no way I could have given consent when I was really drunk). In your 2 examples (parents and dog) neither of them were aggressively pursuing you for sex and you didn't say how drunk you were but I'm guessing not super drunk around your parents.

The reason I put it as non-con/dub-con is because I don't really know how much each was drunk (or not) and able to consent. I re-watched that part (around 33min) and Danuoea definitely looks more drunk whereas Nine looks sober and Nine was also more of the instigator, but I'm not sure so hence I put non-con/dub-con.

People like watching different things which is fine. Hope you all the best in your drama watching.
