Hi , did you watch episode 5? Interested to know your thoughts
Just watched it. So we are to infer that they had sex and Haebom was so drunk that he didn't initially remember??? And then Taesung forcibly tries to kiss Haebom after restraining him against his will??? WTF. No, I don't like that at all. They could have just ended with the kiss (no forgetting because that's cliche). Shown how both Haebom and Taesung have conflicting feelings and worked thru that together. I was glad that Taesung apologized and gave space (until he then didn't at the end)....
I thought the ending was perfect. They did explain why Phob didn't turn into an evil ghost, and it wasn't cut…
I re-watched it and Phob said he can't let him go. Part 4, 1:45. He then says he'll keep the memories with him. Also Phob says that he left something so Phat can contact him, what was that? I more have an issue that Phat married a woman and was miserable until his death and the overall choppiness of the series. I think the kiss was very beautiful. If Phat had said that he'd live his life to the fullest and didn't marry a woman I would have rated it higher.
Good review. I agree that the baseball player/ love triangle was pointless and very irritating. Why did he give…
Very welcome. Yes, it was also odd that he gave up so easily at the end, after all the things that he had said before that. Bizarre. They could have used that screen time in other areas, like even fleshed out the 2 past lives a little more instead of using the same two flashbacks over and over and over again. Yes, I do think Yeon Seok/Jin Gun did a good job of portraying his pain.
I think she knew he was the person because the sound changed everytime he appears in front of her, kinda like…
I re-watched and I didn't hear a similar sound when the brother was by cat lady. The brother and sister were right next to each other so I'm just confused how she knew it was one and not the other... I think the writers could have been more clear about it. But yes, I'm guessing it is some kind of 6th sense thing.
Well Theo’s dad does own the university, so he technically owns the book…And Theo’s parents sending him…
It doesn't matter who he dad is, people should not write in library books. Thanks for letting me know about the studying abroad part, I'll remove that from my room for improvement part, thanks.
Maybe it was really easy like lost. In every language you have some expression that are hard to translate... It's…
I don't speak Thai so maybe it was a tricky word, it's just seemed odd that that was the only word he couldn't remember. I overall enjoyed it hence why I gave it an 8. I'll change my rating as the series continues if warranted. Happy BL watching :)
Yes to all of this. The recap was ridiculously long, and at the end of last season it seemed like Kaitoon was…
Oh you're right about Kaitoon (I was too lazy to look up his name and called him Mr. Goldfish Memory lol). I kind of forgot where we left off at season 1 with his feelings, but yeah back to square 1. We'll see how the season goes but they only have 6 episodes with three love triangles!!!
Did I misunderstand something? I thought the basketball scene was how they met.
The first basketball scene is them playing together, how did that come about? Was there a group playing and another group wanted to use that court so they played together? It doesn't seem like they knew each other before that point. That's what I meant about how they met. I wanted the story to start at how they came to play basketball together and then progress from there.
valid criticisms! think they could have communicated their boundaries better, but I also loved it very much. And…
I did enjoy it and hope they make a longer movie or a series. I really like Strongberry/Matchbox's stuff. They frequently have references to another one of their productions (so Some More has a reference to Long Time No See for example). It's fun watching their new releases and trying to find a reference.
But it wasn't a D/s relationship at all - in fact it was Hira who had the power all along.
My problem isn't who in the relationship has more power, it's that they never discuss their power dynamic/set rules except just a line or two at the very end. So for most of it, Kiyoi acts like a huge jerk (calling Hira names, shoving him to the ground repeatedly, ordering him around like a servant, playing games (calling and then saying he didn't mean to call when he did)). If they had an earlier discussion about dom/sub and/or sadism/masochism, then I would have rated the series higher. And I can get behind flawed characters with reasons/justifications (Tang Yi from Trapped as an example) but parents getting divorced and remarried is not enough for me to feel empathetic to poor behavior.
Thanks for the info. I think the better translation would be "creepy" (because he was really close to him). The…
I really appreciate people who translate & sub. I generally don't have an issue with errors. Unfortunately this line just sounds so severe. I would never say to someone "you are disgusting" - that's really mean. If a close friend did something pretty gross (like loudly burp) I'd say something like "that's gross" while laughing (and they'd be laughing too because that's how my friends and I act).
Kimoi could be translated into gross nasty disgusting or creepy. Basically its an adjective for someone or something…
Thanks for the info. I think the better translation would be "creepy" (because he was really close to him). The "disgusting" sounded homophobic and I don't think that was the intention.
I mean Check Out Special Episode (the prequel to the series), I updated my review to reflect the MDL name. I put…
I re-watched the Check Out scene. At 33:20 Nine supports Daonuea when walking, indicating that Daonuea can't walk well by himself. At 33:40 Daonuea has the squinty, slow blinking drunk eyes and is making his words longer which sounds like drunk speech. Yes Nine asked if he was okay, but if a person is pretty drunk then they'll say that they are fine even if maybe they aren't fine. Nine then acquiesces and gives Daonuea more alcohol, though he's clearly had quite a bit. In contrast, Nine looks totally sober, we saw him drinking but people have different tolerances for alcohol so it can take more or less to get someone drunk. Nine makes the first move, he goes to kiss Daonuea, they kiss and Daonuea pushes him away at 35:15 People don't have to verbally say "stop", that is a clear non verbal cue that he's not into things. Then Nine ignores that non-verbal cue and proceeds to kiss him again with Daonuea kissing him in return. Drunk is a grey area but for me personally, I just really don't like the reluctant pursuee who is more drunk then leading to sex for the first time together. I still gave this an 8.5 overall and seeing how I think I have 1 thing as 10 out of like 200 that's pretty high.
It is interesting to think that the pursuee has to be drunk, they can't show an interest in sex...I wonder if that dovetails into purity culture. A woman can't be a sexual creature, if she is, she's labeled a slut.
What is Ep 0? Is that a typo? There was nothing even the slight bit dubcon in this series, unless I missed someting,…
I mean Check Out Special Episode (the prequel to the series), I updated my review to reflect the MDL name. I put non con/dub con because I don't know how drunk each of them were. The main problem I have with both is that the pursuee shows reluctance and appears much more drunk than the apparently sober pursuer. I'd mind it less if they both were drunk and both showed equal interest. I re-watched that Jack & Jill part and I really want to know what Jill says at 6:21. He says, "no, no, no" but then I don't know the rest. Afterwards he walks away. Yes I agree that then it doesn't look like he's thaaatttt drunk because he walked up the stairs okay, I'd just rather this had played out differently. Knowing that research studies have found that about half of sexual assaults on college campuses (in the US) involve a situation in which the perpetrator, the victim, or both were consuming alcohol, makes me not enjoy watching this scenario on screen.
Maybe you should have written a review after watching all four episodes... Then you would know the answers to…
This is a first impression review, I'm going to update it later today/tomorrow after I finish the series, but actually it isn't going to change that much. Even the explanation in episode 3 was rushed and confusing. The time skips did not help.
So I watched it and yeah... my initial impression pretty much stayed the same. Updated my review.
