story went to shit after eps 32 and it is just an exercise in frustration ever since where the leads are constantly subjected to suffering and villains triumph. Pick better family dramas like Five Enough or Once Again for a satisfying watching experience.

i am not ditching but i will watch this horror shitshow crash and burn from the sidelines only now. Only way to salvage it is making TK bio dad, but i doubt we will be getting that. Coming fresh from Once Again with its multiple pairings, each connected but with its own story and multi-generational, TRHC is soooo weird in this regard. We had the whole sourgrapes side-story that was a big nothingburger and got magicked as done with the timeskip and was never talked about again bc they are such happy parents now when their dynamic is literally still unhealthy/the same. Then the worst, most boring version of a sadon couple i have ever seen with bringing in the birthmother plot way too late that should have happened midway through instead some place after the timeskip laaaaate in the show. Plus the insultingly stupid fact of them not knowing about their families for a whole year, like????
The hellion clown duo never even reached one dimension as characters, they were just there and still are as roadblocks for the leads and have zero personality beside idiocy, delusion, obsession and narcissism. Flatter as any crepe as character and their schemes got old around 30 eps where everything should have discovered and they punished and them moving on with their lives, like go outside and pet a dog geez. By now i would have even preferred if their fake dating would have led to real dating again, bc at least that would have been a storyline for them not pertaining YD/TK. But nope we are now going into the mid-40 eps and we are STILL dealing with these assholes twirling their mustaches after having them at a disadvantage for 5 whole minutes last episode. Can't have it laaaaaast, nope ugggh.
So now what is left? This weird curveball smacked into our face with 🍓 and the writer sealclapping himself how clever he is with it, when it is actually just annoying for everyone to see this happening this late in the show? Yeah great, more time being wasted on meandering bullshit with this scam subplot instead of directly letting Hee sit in the seat of the daughter and spare us the frustration this close to the finish line. The writer should focus on the family dynamic now, on letting the characters breathe and grow together, to celebrate the new found unity and test it in going together against fuckboi over to an satisfying end with wedding ceremony and epilogue. (Daaamn i am still impressed how WELL Once Again did that epilogue after a big timejump, as it checked in with every character and letting us spend time with them for 1 1/2 full eps.)
But nope he prefers jacking off to his next idiotic oh so dramatic plot twist to up the rating and buzz (and literally achieving nothing but angry domestic viewers), while ignoring the one twist that would actually achieve all that. Oh the irony lol. I know different rules apply to weekender and this one in particular due to its very own brand of soapy weirdness that is hyper-focused on the leads and yet does not let them room to breathe and grow as a couple due to the constant conflicts thrown at their feet. So in the end, it is just idiotic writing that amounts to nothing, welp.
I guess subtitlers find this drama boring seeing how they take their time.
historical drama uses more difficult, elaborate vocab with all its levels of politeness that have fallen out of use in modern days, and is thus generally more difficult to translate and sub.
