I wrote a whole ass post about it here because according to the spoilers I had and the direction it eventually took there has been some drastic inexplicable changes made that is fully rerouting this drama into a questionable direction :

Twitter is saying there is a letter involved but not shown so far according to netizens... but take this with a giant grain of salt. It would be definitely needed to minimize my side-eyeing of her for about 5%, bc as of now she was like, "here a goodbye letter for my family, no time to write one for you TK tho, but keep that crappy ring i have no use for it anymore." in her all too lovingly caring and protecting fashion, lmao.

Oh they should definitely buy their own rings later on MUCH later on, bc i don't want a magical relationship fix here. And throw these ones into the han river, given these were a gift from howling monkey. I also call her momzilla btw and was also tempted to throw inokitler in the mix but that would have been taking the naming game a bit too far and too real. It is all in good fun after all xD

It is nothing short of character assassination what they did with YD in the last two eps, fr fr fr. I will never understand that even if they were going the hysterical screechy way with momzilla why a) they did not move back into TK's hotel room or somewhere else for a week or so to create distance to both families and b) try longer to talk with the fams and convincing them bit by bit, instead of giving up after two days tops while leaving them believe whatever horrible assumption they had drawn in the meanwhile? For someone promising to fight and not give up, YD gave up after, ummm, two attempts, so LOL? I am right with you wondering where that other resolute YD went, certainly not in the writers room. Must be on vacation or something. As said i hope pray and beg that Taekyung does make her, well, not suffer, but work for his forgiveness. It is her turn to be hung out dry for a bit AT THE VERY LEAST. But alas as i know this wonderful but too soft fool he won't do that out of fear to lose her (AND Haneul!) again. SIGH.

Also see my post right below (or above?), where i go into how bewildering these changes they made are in comparison what i knew about it via spoilers and how these two episodes have shifted the focus/theme away from "chosen family is as valid and good" to "without the right bloodline you are not worthy of love" and it is the most upsetting thing of it all. (also why i am now pitching the TK is Haneul's surprise bio dad theory instead of hating it as much as i did before. Because now we might as well go all the way, with BLOOD/GENES SUPREMACY in this show.

Yeeeeah they changed a looooot in regard of 33/34 according to the spoilers i knew about. (beach date was supposed to be in eps 34 and most likely thought to be their honeymoon instead of a cowardly goodbye date) JH was supposed to be mellowed and become more reasonable instead to be turned up in creepy and stalkerish. And howling monkey was supposed to actually listen to the leads reasons and forgive/approve of them in eps 34, like her one-braincell husband did in eps 32. Also there was never any breakup planned, they were thought to work together in convincing the families bit by bit, not giving up on each other.

I am not sure what brought this utter derailment of this reasonable planned story on tbh. Either it was them drinking in the writers room and one being "Hey what about instead of solving this main conflict in a timely and sober manner as we have always done before, instead let's just turn up the crazy and insert all the worst tropes for melodrama/aaaaangst" and got seal-clapped for it bc they were all too drunk to think clearly. Or the leak of the spoilers got too big so they were frantically rewriting, also while heavily drinking, till 6 am with the next morning being the deadline. Either way, the result is this embarrassing haphazard patchwork rug of bad tropes.

And with the two last eps the meaning/theme of the drama has completely shifted from "chosen family is as valid as blood kin to BLOODLINES ARE PARAMOUNT TO EVERYTHING, which yeeeah yikes. it showed in how momzilla focused solely on "THIS CHILD IS NOT OF TK'S BLOOD. HOW DISGUSTING" (even as he told her several times he will raise her as his own) instead of being upset about them lying to her and listen to the reasons why (this did not even interest/faze her one bit) It showed in the cold feet the writers got and made HW reconcile with sourgrapes (with a magical marriage (timejump) fix no less) instead of letting him move on to pharmacist lady and be the boy's stepfather and co-parenting with sourgrapes only. And i bet DW/YM are also not a thing anymore because there is a none bio child involved here and the gong vampire ghouls would never allow this. It is funny how i was calling granny joseon granny before when the actual people who belong in this era with their backwards crap beliefs is now anyone but her in this ghoulish family. And it will also show in the whole planned 🍓 plotline that is very likely meant to make YD/Haneul blood-related to the Gongs in order for them needing to accept her. Since she has then their blood and is "better" than before.

Thus this is also why i see no trouble anymore to pitch the drunk leads wrong hotel rooms makjang fan theory, bc making TK Haneul's bio dad after all in a surprising turn of events, fits now perfectly into this weird new trainwreck-ish direction this drama has taken. Might as well go all the way then 🤷‍♂️

Exactly, this is what ruined this pairing for me, basically (At least for now, it will take a lot of convincing for me to get back aboard this ship. And no aww cute baby ain't gonna cut it.)

It is her complete lack of ANYTHING (i can't even begin to call it care) that is so very bewildering, when there were so many better ways to deal with it that included NOT to ghost him and let him live with uncertainty for a full year. But nope she chose indifference and cowardice instead. And this really makes me wonder if there were not a bit, if not even a lot, of truth to BN's harsh words with YD simply not loving him enough. (because if she indeed does, she sure has a utter pisspoor way of showing that, lol) Since even their supposed reunion is purely by chance, she never planned to ever contact or see him again, and even tells him that in the preview.

That is no love, to me. Feels more like it was just convenient to be with him and have his emotional support, at least until things got tough(er.) Then it was time to fuck off and forget he exists.

I honestly need more than happenstance and outer circumstances forcing the leads together again for a "second chance romance." to make sense and be believable. I actually want to see a willingness, no need of YD to be and stay at TK's side, to fight for it. In order to rebuild the relationship, a lot should come from her side, out of her own character's intrinsic motivation and care (haha) for him, not because she is forced into situations and thus it is convenient to be with/around TK again or something.

Trouble is only i cannot see YD do any of that, because she is too much of a wishy washy coward, too much of a flag turning with the slightest wind, to say it harshly. i mean i will gladly let her convince me otherwise over time, but for now i resume normal breathing instead to hold my breath and wait for it, lol.

Oh howling monkey will be supporting fuckboi for sure, this dictator bitch will do anything to get rid of YD at this point. I am half of a mind whether BN would tho. As shit as she was to TK aka "you are out the picture anyway once the baby is born bc then the real father will take over" i would say this hypocrite cretin will support JH but she won't join hands with momzilla and she also does not like that trashman in general, so i dunno. Maybe she thinks it will be a good way to get rid of the child that in her mind caused all her daughter's misfortune. So she supports trashman to get custody (highly unlikely to begin with that he would get it but ugh i have zero trust in these writers anymore) out of that reason then. Both mothers are complete trash in their own shitty ways, that is for sure and the only way i see howling monkey being redeemed at this point is being in front of and close to a white truck of doom that is, like always, incapable of using the brakes bc it is too busy honking. 😂

We need so many trucks of dooms for too many characters, by now, in fact. Dear god, most of them were doing so well before being nerfed to complete assholes again in two eps tops.

yeah, but also it should stay at 10% for a while, TK has all the reasons to doubt and be upset. So it is much needed for her to put in the work now regarding him, and with that i don't mean legwork, as in running away from him. Again.

I used to defend her a lot when ppl said she is too distant to TK in earlier eps, but she has really lost me here with all she did, or rather NOT did, in eps 34. Makes me, in fact, question if she ever "loved" him in the first place and if there is not truth to BN's harsh words after all.

Excuse me to spill more salt onto the floor buuuuut honestly, I don't blame YD for leaving as much as I blame her for breaking her promise and TK's heart, for giving him a false sense of security, for not even leaving him a letter explaining why. And especially for ghosting him a whole year, bc my understanding for her staying out of contact just lasts till Haneul's birth, at most. After that? Nah, could have given a sign of life to him in whatever form, to wish him well, at least. Hell YD could not even say I love you back and all too easily and readily ditched him to move on with her life, never caring if he is dead or alive for a yr. And after everything she'd seen with how his fam treated TK, she did the same thing to him in abandoning him. All these are really cruel actions toward someone you claim to care about. Also it is not "protecting" someone when all of your actions are the source of their/his hurt.

So going forward I want YD to see that her actions and the uncertainty she left him with was what ruined TK emotionally instead of her 'protecting' him, that her noble idiocy bs was in vain bc he cut ties w/ his mom anyway, and deeply regret everything and then never stop making amends to him. Okay that is maybe a bit much but jfc they better show me that YD, in fact, does love TK and prove it to him/viewers for this pairing to work again. Because right now, this is all very one-sided on Taekyung's end, and needs to be balanced out. A LOT. I need it to be actual MUTUAL love/devotion instead of TK being the only one doing all the emotional work and investment with never getting anything back but lies and abandonment from YD.

Agreed. TK has already suffered enough and then some. He does not need to get hurt to prove the depth of his love for YD and Haneul, it is very much obvious, each week (with my problem being the same cannot be said for YD, but that is a whole other topic, lol) Imo, this is the best way to take JH out of the story, and have some goodwill toward his character from the audience. (Unless of course we go full makjang and make TK the bio dad after all haha)

Thanks i will forever avoid this shitshow (literally) haha. Question as the resident family/daily drama expert here regarding the acceptable level of violence within. We were speculating about JH dying a heroic (??) death in saving YD or HN and redeeming himself this way (especially since there is little ways now to get rid of him as hellbent he is to harass and stalk YD forever now to "make her come back to him") possibly when psychotic pony snaps and attacks YD... so is this in the realms of possible or is killing off a character a no go in weekenders?

i feel the most unrealistic part is how the writer is still continuing this shit with these two pathetic clowns without giving them anything else to do or be, and milking it despite everyone in the audience (i know knetz despises them too) being super tired of these ridiculous one trick ponies. At least give them a subplot where they are facing consequences for any of their actions or at least let them pick up a hobby like knitting or something. But nope it is just stalking and being creepy delusional, boring ass mf 24/7 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Even with all the noble insanity in eps 34 from weeping willow's side, i feel these two delulu demons are the most makjang part of the drama (as in the most unbelievable) Those are not characters they are the base caricatures of characters, not even reaching one dimension in their depth, or rather their complete lack thereof.

I believed her lie of staying at his side in eps 31 like he did with the bracelets and all after that, idk not really. But again I'm salty as the sea regarding her and her callous way of ghosting him so yeah.

we really do excel in yelling at clouds here, and this in regular intervals. I know that before the sunday episode we were around 9,7k posts and now a day later, well, almost 11k. Madness, but the good kind haha

Tbh, i hate all the gongs, outside of Soojung and Granny now. Patrick has some good moments unlike his howler monkey wife, but it does not suffice. The other hypocrites in this ghoulish household can go swim with the fishes for all i care.

DW is okay, he is dumb as a rock but well-meaning.
Daesung is my unproblematic fave, tho i am salty as the sea he never told anyone about YD despite full knowing how much others miss her.

From what i gathered, SK is a bit speshul here in this regard. If their marriage was indeed registered TK would be by SK law the legal father with full parental rights and obligations, and there is nothing what dna giver, outside of their marriage, can do here. Even with TK not being her bio dad. That was why we were always yelling at them to go to the district office to register their marriage after all haha. Because it would have offered full protection for Haneul legally from fuckboi.

But hey even if there is a cUsTodY bAtTLe. it is very rarely issued jointly in SK but sole custody only, and it goes/lies pretty much always with the mother (unless there are problems impending this)

However, i think the point is moot since i doubt they were legally married to that point in time.

yeeees i don't remember the exact details of the scene, but TK's smile while he goes "why did i have a dream like that?" (about her in his room which of course was no dream) is very telling 😏
