It is been nearly a week but i am still not over how beautifully the writer showed Taekyung's journey of acceptance/stepping up as father to be. Especially the bits in eps 28. In one scene we see him going to Hyunwoo in their lunch break, where HW sits at his desk looking at a sonogram pic of his kid. Seeing this, TK asks him if he has loved "olive" all along, and what it means to him to be a father. And HW replies then "being a father means to be curious about your child, how they will look like and how they will be," And Taekyung is considering this, like you notice these words stay with him. Which then of course comes into play in this wonderful ending scene of Taekyung taking the initiative to talk to Jinjja with that "fetus phone" and telling the kid that "he has started to become curious about them too." Their look, favorite food etc.
Like this was such a well done and wonderful way and parallel writing-wise to show how he has started to not only think about but seeing himself as Jinjja's father and wanting to love the child. After all, curiosity is always the first step to something more, Here it serves to portray his growing acceptance of seeing the child as being (huge) part of his life going forward. And of course him starting to think of Jinjja as a separate entity from YD, the mother, as an own person to be, and one he wants to love just as much. This is such a huge and beautiful step he had taken here emotionally, and now excuse me while i π€§π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ€§π₯Ίπ₯Ίππ₯Ή π₯Ή π₯Ή π₯Ή π₯Ή π₯Ή
Drama is very good and actors are excellent but there is lack of chemistry because showmakers tend to deviate…
That is also what they are going for in the drama, tho? But they have to set it up first, after all. Every story and relationship needs a starting point. And him being drawn to Ji eum bc she reminds him his past love, who he then starts loving then as her own person is imo a very good way to do it.
Plus there are still eight episodes of character and relationship development left, after all.
Oh dw, there are many details i leave out here, but we discussed daddy gong finding out and trying to break them…
Yeah can do. But since we know chairman finds out and the rumors are floating anyway, it actually does not make much sense of them to duck and cover anymore given the pressure from daddy is already there. In this case the smart thing to do is moving ahead for as long you still can instead of ostrich's tactic and hoping for the best. They have seen how this ended with sourgrapes couple after all πππ
In ohk taking major steps forward from the background. She does not like being lied to. Damn!Obviously we know…
Oh dw, there are many details i leave out here, but we discussed daddy gong finding out and trying to break them up with TK refusing weeks ago after all. So that is old news heh. Plus this takes place in the next weekend eps so it is not that much of a spoiler anymore. The anon board msg already made its appearance in the preview after all. And tbh, it is in the nature of the leads unlike sourgrapes, to seek out then the people they lied to and speak with them before it can implode on them. Given their diplomatic personality it would be logical to assume this being their next step then. Anything else beyond that however you all gotta wait and see, but like you i prefer the no breakup route as this would be contrived by now, especially with how TK has accepted Jinjja now. So i don't see TK giving her up, ever at this point and YD is probably also way less inclined to leave now after the last scene of eps 28. So now there is only the secret/lie left to take care of in the way of full commitment, so yeah. Also i actually can see that the landlady from hell will call it suddenly quits on YD, seeing how the writers made her act toward her like an ass already. And the whole Inok making the leads' marriage registration to her condition of approval/forgiveness is only my assumption too, so no spoilers here either. I would however love to see this, hehe.
As said, the writers are aware of her lack of a baby bump with having granny mentioning it, so here is hoping we get to see it soon, lol.
There is speculation in knetz about it due to YD's conception dream at the very start, which is a bunny (twin…
yeeeeah, my post was meant in good humor in case you missed it ;) We are fully in agreement here, bc her ex isn't more than a sperm donor, not a father. And it would be best for everyone if he goes back to the US by the end of the drama tbh
So, Ep 28's theme seemed to be "Messages, both Mixed and Clear"Let's start with the Elephant in the Room: Her…
I am pretty sure Inok's harsh reaction is a lot due to them a) keeping everything a secret, b) not coming clean on their own and c) being utterly unapologetic and defiant about it even after being caught (sourgrapes) Plus the general disrespect JM has shown Inok over the years did certainly not help matters here either. All in all it was this particular mixture of circumstances which let momzilla appear and call it a grave betrayal. So while they were certainly preoccupied with themselves and other things (TK's journey of growing curious about Jinjja <3 for example, YD's journey of stupidity in getting in this damn car and needing TK's text to remember whooops i should NOT (and yet typical kdramaland-like she still got sick for being a minute tops in the rain, lawl) our leads better have paid attention to what happens when inok finds out about their lie on her own.
Her own backstory and experiences made as single mother is also vital here in order to come to understand why YD did this and to accept them both, including her child (whom she already loves either way) for a new beginning, i think. The more i think about it the more i also think that registering their marriage could be a condition for her forgiveness/approval. Bc when they love each other now and have already lived as married couple and her son wants to take on the responsibility for Jinjja as well, there will be no reason in her eyes to not NOT nudge them friendly but very insistent to finally rectify that transgression. After all they have to think of the child! hehehe π
Oh i write little about our maknae couple but i do love them more and more. They are a good foil to the leads, their story/situation so similar yet so different, bless. A lot lighter due to the kid already kinda grown and no evil demon scheming around them, too. But yeah YM is a lot like her brother indeed heh. Seems like the Gongs' do always need a certain push to realize (and act upon) their romantic feelings for someone. And yes i was yelling at this einstein to help her too when she faceplanted the asphalt, dear gaaawd. Good thing YM is smart, she has to be for the two of them lmao. Well at least he is pretty but yeah DW has big himbo energy alright xD
I also hope pharmacist lady gets another storyline. Maybe an unlikely romance with Daesung or so, lol. Because I want to see hee burn at the stake like the scamming witch she is, and not be forgiven by this too trusting doofus by the end of it.
Oh also don't leave the leads out just because i regularly yell about them in essay-like posts, lol. Since i would love to hear your pov here too <3
well Jinjja is the titular star of this drama and the one who brought the leads and families so this will thankfully…
You and me both, indeed hehe. We will see, but we can be sure whatever happens the kid will be fine and, eventually. born. Just at what point in the story is the question, seeing how we are still doing this day to day storytelling thing, lol.
I love that this man is already so whipped that he sees her moving in slow motion and spaces out staring at her/her picture for minutes. Honestly i need more shows with ML's crushing fast and hard on FL and not knowing what to do with it hahaha.
aww no problem, hope you find something else then to your taste. You can always watch MV's and tiktok vids if you are curious about the lovely leads in here tho haha
it is basically about a career woman facing an unplanned pregnancy and navigating impending (single) motherhood with all of its struggles, especially in a very conservative society that shun/condemn her for it. And a marriage, longterm commitment averse man and ob/gyn doc who is the son of a single mother that remarried late into a wealthy family that shun and mistreated him for not being their blood ("just adopted") So he avoids them whenever possible, is estranged to all of them and keeps ppl at arms length in general. Those two meet under the oddest circumstances again and again and help each other. So to get out of their respective predicament with their demanding disapproving families the mutual benefiting contract relationship and 'marriage' is devised.
But of course, during their time of cohabitation ML falls hard while telling FL not to fall for him (lol) and suddenly is facing the question whether or not a future for them is possible. To turn fake into real married and becoming the father with all that entails of a child that ain't his. All while navigating the big lie of his paternity within their families and their growing feelings for each other, an obsessive, delusional SFL trying her worst to break them apart, as well the mounting guilt for lying to their nice, supportive inlaw parents (particularly FL.) Basically their dynamic is like "marriage is for suckers" bachelor turning into head over heels in love, whipped husband starting to rethink all his beliefs while being very keen on pursuing FL romantically after realizing his feelings. Whereas his 'wife' is far more reluctant to restart their contractual relationship into something real after being cheated on, belittled and dumped by a deadbeat fuckboi of an ex only a month ago. Thus she feels the need to protect herself from anew heartbreak on top of protecting her unborn child that is her first priority in general. All while also already caring a lot for her (not) husband but trying not to. Eventually they find together, but it is not without hiccups due to the meddling of outer forces trying to tear them apart, and the weight of their lie looming.
The leads are very caring, kind people who have a healthy relationship with finding support in each other after being beaten down by life and their families. They grow into easy banter and communicate well with each other after a steep learning curve of living together and generally starting off on the wrong foot . They are so sweet together they give me diabetes while still having enough weight on their dynamic with all the possible angst/conflicts to come, particularly regarding FL's child and the conflicts in their families.
ML in particular is one of the greenest flags i have ever seen in kdramaland. He is such a well written character and good good man with a high emotional intelligence and empathy. Like there is a good reason why the "caring male lead" is as high up a tag here as it is, heh. I swear this man keeps raising the standard with the way he loves, supports, protects and understands FL. If you need a vid here, these two MV's explains/shows it best why:
Given the plot, of course pregnancy is a big topic here, it is what brings the leads and later on the fams together, after all. But it is more on an interpersonal/societal level than to go into the nitty gritty of being pregnant. Korean dramas rarely do tbh and so far this one is no exception. In fact many people miss the baby bump being shown since FL does remain very thin throughout. Due to the whole events taking place over little more than a month due to day by day storytelling, she is just in her 15/16 week of pregnancy now but still, lol. Morning sickness and food cravings are so far the only "symptoms" that the show has actively shown.
As for the ex, well he buggers off and then returns much later on episode-wise, but he is basically just a plot device to push ML toward acceptance of fatherhood with his meddling/childish schemes. ML is set up by the story as the real father, even if he isn't biologically, of the child from the get go and all along the way. He is present for every single pivotal pregnancy moment of FL thus far, medically as her doc, but especially personally. He is the one who protects FL and her unborn child and cares for them even before their fake relationship turns real. (Real/Jinjja is the nickname of the fetus btw, hence the title heh) Also i did write a more extensive spoilery-ish summary a few weeks back, so maybe this helps decide whether to watch or not?
Heβs not listed here or on Wikipedia. I thought he was deceased, but I may be confusing it with another drama.…
Oh I like the idea of DS meeting pharmacy lady but not sure how that would work but as long hee and DS are strangers and she got some punishment at the end of the drama im okay with anything by now lol. Maybe DS needed money and asked his sister for it or it is an investment gone awry idk, tis all weird. But have daddy oh appear now or later on after all would be even weirder as he has no bearing on the story and is not even once mentioned after that bit of dialogue. I hope we get a bit more info on BN's background tho, maybe in a talk with Jangho or something.
YEP this is why I said his mother is dead or believed dead heh, but that is all we got on JH's fam so far.

It is a good thing that - rumors be true- they gonna end up fessing up on their own, soon, and come clean with everything, before she has the misfortune to find out about on her own. This will certainly help for Inok to, well, not bite their heads off, Taekyung being her son or not π Also after having seen inok going oooooooofff, it is probably better that daddy gong finds out first bc his attempt to go disapproving parent forcing a break up will hit on la la la not listening granite with TK (no surprise here as HEAVILY it has been foreshadowed that he will fight for YD, that π©flagπ) But i digressed, what i wanted to say is, the leads coming clean on their own and being regretful unlike sourgrapes will help their case and Inok to, eventually come around...without committing murder before doing so, haha.
Her own backstory and experiences made as single mother is also vital here in order to come to understand why YD did this and to accept them both, including her child (whom she already loves either way) for a new beginning, i think.
