Omg, yes. That shrew is already way too nosy with what she wants to know from YD and what she is not supposed to do. All the red flags. However that is an active choice of the writers for the landlady to be obnoxious instead of kind/understanding here, so yeah. I see what they are doing. Not that it matters much since YD/TK will have to deal with a plethora of other probs next week heh.

I think the reaction of Inok was some nice foreshadowing of what to expect when the lie is uncovered, or rather what the leads can expect. Duck and cover, my darlings, momzilla is on the prowl ?

Though what was interesting is Inok only imploded on sourgrapes in this form with demanding her to quit her job etc, when JM refused to take accountability for her actions and to apologize. Which won't be the case for Yeondoo and Taekyung as they are way more emotionally intelligent/empathic or rather diplomatic than sourgrapes and her sullen defiance.

Plus it is Taekyung's mother which may be a blessing and curse alike for the leads. Blessing since TK knows her best/longest as her son of course, and thus maybe also knows how to soften that blow. And it is a curse of course due to Inok being emotionally involved here in yet another, more deeper level than with JM, probably. Since it concerns her son lying to her all along and her grandchild not actually being her grandchild, then the fake marriage ofc, Yikes,) However, i don't doubt Inok will come around seeing how much she loves YD and Jinjja either way already. Plus she sees and knows how happy her son is with YD and how much this love/relationship has had already such a positive impact on him.

But she will certainly make them work for her eventual approval and tbh, i cannot fault her for that haha. I cannot wait for her to drag them both to the city hall for the actual marriage registration, and maybe even making it a condition for her approval haha. (and then watch how Taekyung is like ⬅️⬅️⬅️?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️ but instead of running away from, he is gonna run toward marriage, stamp ready to use ?)

Yes, he has shown he has loved her well enough for sure, but as he recognized himself during eps 28, he had not given her child/Jinjja much thought yet/thought much about them. And without that important step to take and his willingness to step up here and love Jinjja, there cannot be a full commitment for YD (plus there is the lie and guilt toward TK's parents/fam too of course, but this will be taken care of very timely) Thus why that scene was so important.

There will be a turning point alright in eps 31/32 if rumors hold up, so the next two eps may require patience still since the writer is gonna bludgeon us with various misdirection hex i think, haha. And yeah, while i like BJH her acting/microexpressions fall short at times to convoy YD's feelings, especially compared to AJH and his face journeys 😆 She is a very excellent crier and good in emotional heavy scenes, but imo she struggles to portray the more subtle in-between emotions.

i love how the drama keeps showing how that landlady of YD is an intrusive one from hell, as an indication and wink wink nudge that this part of the story does not come to be. 😁

I mean in its essence the whole two months deadline is a plot device to not have her leaving when she initially planned to and have them deepen their feelings for each other, but also having something that hinders her from fully commit yet. Aka that stupid house contract, but there is of course more to it. I was confused by YD hot/coldness too and sometimes it indeed is the writer not being clear enough with her. However the way she is and acts lies in the root of her character.

What struck me upon a rewatch of the first eps was how YD was unable to cry after the breakup with JH because she always had to be the strong and responsible one, bc of how her family depends on her (financially and emotional work) Hence it is no surprise she struggles with showing how she really feels. She was in an environment that didn't allow her to, where she had to deal with her emotions without to burden others with it for waaaay too long.

It explains so much why she struggles to depend/rely on TK and be honest/open about her feelings as she doesn't want to burden him. And I also think this is large part of the reason why she plans to leave and leaves him out of the talks with Jinjja too. Her child should not be his burden, especially given his beliefs. So for him taking the initiative and showing her that nooo he wants to be involved pls let me know/I want to know more about Jinjja and care for the kid was such such a fundamentally important step for him to take in all regards. Starting but not ending with showing her that it is okay to 'burden' him that he wants her to depend on him, with all that entails. He has now embraced that responsibility and Jinjja, quite literally, at the end of the latest episode. This is what makes this scene such a vital, power and beautiful one, and it feels like a turning point. 🥰

Anon post about the kid not being TK's on the company website, yeah. It was in the preview of next episode, with the chairman going "i always thought it a bit odd" right after, So it what is going to happen.

NOICE i was not far of with my translation then. Few things i missed and fewer got wrong but korean maaaan. The language of fake it till you make it, aka interpret the sentence how you like as long you regard the context. There is barely a wrong answer ever. *hysterically laughcries in language learning*

Well yeah, all in all i have like a decade of writing experience but it is "just" fanfic tho, about a game. I dunno if you know dragon age, but it is a loooong story about that, and i don't know how much you would understand about it without knowing/having played the game. It is fantasy, and removed from our time/customs tho

However the funny thing is, the dynamic of the leads here is the same i have in my story. Open, emotional available and talkative golden retriever sunshine guy and more closed off, introverted conceal don't feel grumpy gal. Sadly unfinished thus far bc almost two years ago kdrama swallowed me whole and has not left me back out again, lol. I kinda want to get back to it, but i always feel myself hesitating. Maybe when TRHC is over and i feel myself inspired by their dynamic to the point where i want to pick up my two (quite younger) doofuses again. I can throw you a link via pm if you like and you can decide what to do with it tho haha

Tbh, same but it is easier to like Taekyung because he is so emotionally available and emotionally intelligent/mature. He is quick to talk about his feelings, to notice if something is amiss with his partner and regularly checks in with her, puts her feelings as his priority. His way of loving is honest and open, there is never a sliver of doubt where he stands with his feelings as he readily shows it and speaks about it. Hell so much that his asshole brother who does not care one bit about him knows how much he is in love with Yeondoo (as he told JH😂)

YD is more complicated here. Her feelings are hidden under layers of "I'm fines" "don't worrys" and "i need to be strongs" She is very similar to the character i have written in the past in my story so i understand her a lot (except my char is far more blunt and with much more of a temper lol) So we see her putting up a veneer also as a matter of self-protection. We often don't know what she is thinking or feeling due to that so that makes it harder to connect and thus to like her. But all these feelings are obviously there underneath, she just does not shows or talks about them as readily as TK does. So it needs his gentle coaxing, his check ins and just that inherent understanding he has of her and what she needs to open up about her emotions/thoughts and fears.

It is also why TK is the ideal partner for her bc he helps her to be less in her head and more in her heart <3

The way the writer made Taekyung more and more curious not only about the idea of fatherhood but about Jinjja in general in the last two eps is really beautifully done and accumulated in that speech with him literally embracing Jinjja (and the idea of fatherhood/caring for the child) 🥹 🥹 🥹
