I feel this is gonna be more and more running under the motto “trainwreck watch” and not just because my korean is shit and I am gonna misinterpret a lotta things in this summary, but in general we are getting to the parts of the show you wanna ffw but then you remember you watch it live and suffer in paaaaaain at the miscommunication and stupidity of characters lmao. Episode 26 was an improvement, which is not saying much as yesterday’s episode was the titular trainwreck and an hour in frustration. Here… well it seems to be 40 minutes in frustration at the sheer amount of hellion clown scenes we have to suffer thru, but yeah improvement alright. I guess.

We start off with the dramatic, once more love triangle that is only one in trashboi’s empty brain bc YD constantly tells him to fuck off numerous times. As I said, shitface has become to be the male version of sasaeng stupid fairy in less than three weeks. An obsessive, full of crap asshole whose singular goal it is to reclaim an unwilling partner as though they were some goat to steal. Must have been an achievement somewhere in the cliché second lead hell they got cloned at and originate from. His clowning may have other motivations than head honk jester, but it all comes down to power, pride and possession. Thus those two demons are made for each other, if only they would recognize it and fuck off. Forever. Anyway, I will skip a lot of their bullshit today as I am short of damns to give about that and even way more out of patience for their nonsense.

Back to another overly dramatic looking scene as said which ends up with the leads taking the seriousness out of it in taking the piss on the bastard. As they should. This scene alone is already much better than ANYTHING we have seen yesterday, so yay for that. TK ignores the trashman to go over to honeyed sweet words of “We should have gone together, I don’t like you meeting this bastard on your own.” fuckboi is gloating how he lost the bet of YD not wanting to meet him, bc there she is” and Taekyung just claps him in congratulating him on that in the most sarcastic way possible. How I should write this summary, actually. YD picks up on that (f only they would actually communicate this well otherwise atm, but oh well.) and goes “Yeah I am glad you are here, it was roo burdensome to meet him on my own, but now I can relax and eat breakfast. You have not eaten yet, TK right? “How could I eat without you <3” hahahaha and toward fuckboi he is like “I am gonna pick the most expensive item on the menu.” And then the camera pans over JH and his disgusted face as he has to watch them feed each other the loads of breakfast ordered. I am cackling, this is the best action they could have taken and the most amusing. What baffles me is how good a team they are in such situation but absolutely floundering in normal communication atm. Trashman has some stamina in watching them I give him that. “Oh YD you should eat more, you are with child, after all. And then to her belly “Jinjja, eat a lot my baby.” hahahahaha “oh the fetus name of the baby is Jinjja btw” and that is the breaking point for dungbeetle as he jumps up grumbling to leave. YD is like “Thank you for the food. You are buying right?” oh look how this impotent gnome is raging hahahaha- but of course he can’t leave without having the last word “That baby should have been mine.” which is why TK understandably switches back to murder mode and is only held back by wifey.

Asscramp gets a call from daddy’s firm and when we cut back to the leads they are as distant as before. Great. I think TK tells her to not take this on by herself and let him help whereas YD apologizes for her trash ex annoying him. And as she wants to leave I think he checks in with her how she is feeling about all that and she tells him that she now has no longer any reason to see him. Which is a reassuring reply to him, of course. AND WOW THAT IS MORE COMMUNICATION THAN THEY HAD FOR LIKE TWO EPISODES ALREADY NOW *slowclaps like TK did just moments ago*

It cuts to the company and its full bullshit. Nope not summarizing the meeting of the two half braincells with a quarter of a braincell, because all you need to know about that meandering storyline is the demon demanding TK to apologize to him or he will leave in a huff like a teenage girl in puberty. I hate the distinctive lack of Inok lately bc the more I see Chan Sik the less I like him. Simply because he is so mindnumbingly stupid, especially for a supposedly clever businessman and I feel like screaming at him every time I see him. Not to mention his slime-trailing bum kissing asshole of a son who is even DUMBER. AAAAAAAH I hate it here. Taekyung the cutie announces his return and idk why it sounds so adorable but wifey ain’t present to hear it. Oh no, warflashbacks to episode 25 as I scream, but thankfully she is just asleep already. And him being best husbando he never wanted to be and still is, tucks her in and lingers a moment to watch her sleep in a non creepy cute smiley way. He also nearly smashes her phone as it dares to vibrate in that moment and is really tempted to for real, when seeing it is the damn old bat again who is calling. First he is just declining the call but of course that does not work… so it is time for husband Taekyung to have a word with the nuisance herself daring to disturb his wife’s sleep.

I just love how he has zero fucks left to give in telling her off, a man on a mission indeed. But he ain’t finished yet bc the opportunity calls for petty revenge hahahaha. Ofc granny is not pleased and refuses which leads to the aforementioned blackmail hahahahaha. The irony is TK is not even mean or bullying like she did with him but she is still crying wolf and sees herself as the poor victim of bullying here. Oh the irony. FOCUS ON YOUR STUDIES STUDENT hahaha he is teasing her hard and I love every moment of it. I think this is my fave scene of the episode all things considered.

YD wakes up in panic bc her phone is gone and then remembers that she wanted to teach the old bat. TK’s attempt of it goes as well as you think it would but it is not for the lack of trying but rather this toddler in a 80 yrs old body hahaa. YD knows how to handle tantrums but TK is more like wth is happening about it xD FOCUS STUDENT! Which he tells her in vain as it devolves in her calling for YD more desperately than TK ever had done during love-lorn times xD I like me some strict Taekyung, trying to bring back order in his improvised classroom tho, ngl Yeondoo finally got the gran bat signal as she arrives and like a toddler she is complaining to her “he treated me like an idiot Yeeeeeeeondooooooooo. And TK is upset with that “No, I let her learn and study.” And even when YD is like yeah we better leave now he is like “nah she is not done yet” lmao he really enjoyed that role and having the power over gran for once that he does not even want to leave now. And she is still crying hahaha after they left and run into his mother with the bookclub excuse.

Back in the annex she asks him what he has done to make her cry like that and he is just “Just studying.” which she does not buyy and is generally questioning his teaching methods xD He give her back her phone and YD has another asshole moment in asking if it was really needed to make gran so uncomfortable and she is her student and she is doing her best to teach her hangul quickly. She has to, because she is outta there without remorse soon, byeeeeee. Or at least this is what TK accuses her of and I see no fault in this argument. He brings up the two months, she does too and I think hers is in line of how they can’t be together and his about how after these two months she is planning to meet trashman again? YD is incredulous by that aka why would I? “Well, he is the father of your child.” AND THERE WE HAVE HIS INSECURITY FINALLY VOICED. It only took 84 years lol. YD tells him jinjja has no father, just a mother and he looks stricken by that because this is just another line drawn in the sand by her. “It makes me insane to think you will leave in two month and that JH is just out there, hovering and waiting for his chance.” oh god and this is one characteristic I hate when she does it and I dunno if it is the character or actress but her dumbly repeating his name and just as dumbly watch on as he leaves in a mixture of Oh well whatever, oh no what happened and why? And it makes me wanna shake her to act instead, ugh. USE YOUR WORDS, ffs. TK did now and before he left I think he said something along the line of you don’t care as much about it, I know. Could be wrong but would 100000% be justified to leave her with that rummaging in her tiny brainz.

Or TK tries to call JH but I would not know because I SKIP the hell out of them now bc I cannot longer stand these assholes. To summarize: Assholes abound and TK is once more left on his own. Great.

Ah, it is indeed TK trying to call this rotten dickbag, but when he goes to the bathroom, manic monkey does call YD who seems to finally regret her life choices/treatment of TK lately. About time ffs. And then she goes on to apologize for liking him and that it would have been better if she had not and how she is sorry she can’t stay at his side, to which TK basically says “then don’t leave/ I hate the thought of you not being around. What am I supposed to do, without you? And YD apologizes a couple times more again for liking him. Late bc w/e but here are the takeaways from episode 26, aka not as bad as feared, but not as good as it could be. CW: lots of baaaad swearwords and liberal use of f-bombs because i have lost all pretense to be polite with certain characters and situations. 😂

I did understand her when she was doing her all to leave quickly as she always feels the need to be self-sufficient and protect her child. That was before agreeing to that eight weeks thing which i also did get to a point since she does not wants to regret having not loved him/give in to these feelings, later on. Her reason for leaving was ridiculous however. I siGnED a HoUSe leAse. And? Do you now own your life to that real estate bureau? At least be honest with him that you plan to bugger off no matter what and don't use such a stupid reason.

However, it is a problem on the writing front when you as the viewer are puzzled as to why she (re)acts this way and are as anxious as TK himself upon what she is gonna do next, since there is no clear line with her character then. No reliability in knowing what to expect with her. Unpredictability is a valid tool to use for a character, but only if that character trait has been established before and you actually expect the unexpected with said character. Here however, Yeondoo flip flops at random, showing two sets of characters and behaviors that do not gel at all and only leave everyone in confusion. So yeah, imo that is definitely a writing prob in failing to accurately express to the viewers what the char is feeling/why she acts how she acts.

As we have seen yesterday we definitely have entered the annoying part of the drama and it will only get worse from here on out. The leads sefl-manipulating each other with bipolar behavior (YD) and miscommunication is also so not helpful when they need to act as a team but won't. It was a bit better today but they are basically back to square one now, where they were last week, lol. I hope with each of them with a itsy bitsy better understanding of each other, at least. God i hate the miscommunication trope so so so much since it is just an exercise in frustration, always. And characters acting like idiots bc the plot demands it. It is jarring tbh.
