I’ve rewatched this scene several times also. Although he hasn’t realized it yet, I think TK will come to…
Yes, exactly. Accepting Jinjja as his own despite everything and growing into the role of a father would TK help to gain a better understanding for his father, to see that he is loved by him. It would help him to make peace with it all and move forward with his parents, fam and generally. (All good character stuff that would be completely void when they would magically make Jinjja his bio child thru a farfetched twist, tbh)

I also believe the couple who's trying to have a baby can benefit and empathize with them when the truth comes…
Yeah. To me it feels more the writer has been pulling their fangs with considering sperm donation. As in this infernal duo can't be holier-than-thou toward TK's lie of paternity in the future then. Since, they are all in the same boat by then (with carrying another man's child but pretending it to be the husbands) and i doubt they want to poke holes in it and sink with them. (also the donor going to be YD's uncle makes it extra spicy of course, lmao)

That’s why I stay off of twitter. How on earth can anyone think that Real is TK’s baby when YD is afraid of…
You and me both, really. Given how skittish and cautious she is with any touch/to warm up to physical intimacy it makes zero sense.

Idk if you heard that theory under the viewers and especially knetz LOVES it bc they place such importance on TK being Jinjja's bio dad after all (which culturally does not surprise me sadly given how ppl are still looked down upon for being adopted/not of bloodline in SK today. Confucianism and its importance on bloodlines is one hell of a drug tbh)

So the twist is said to be that because TK and JH stayed at the same hotel that YD, drunk out of her mind, confused the rooms and landed in TK's bedroom instead to celebrate the 300 days with her bf, it happened with TK . Who also happened to be drunk out of his mind at the same time too of course, lol. So they have at it in a dark room, no one of them cares enough to stop and check each other's identity like you would do before, well, sleeping with each other and neither at the next morning does anyone of them remember anything that happened (and this for a month now.) Especially not waking up next to each other, in full daylight, no longer intoxicated, to the wrong person πŸ˜‚

Like, the reach done here to explain how it possibly could have happened should be olympic tbh. Even miss makjang looked at it and went, nah sorry that is too far-fetched can't help you there πŸ˜† But that is the theory anyhow. The more you know, Should it indeed happen due to viewers pressure demanding for it, i would downrate this drama so so HARD then bc even for a makjang twist... make it make sense ffs.
On The Real Has Come! Jun 9, 2023
I am having once more the what if TK is really Jinjja's bio father debate on twitter, and i have a visceral NOPE NOPE NOPE reaction toward it. Like, there is little by now i would HATE more happening in this drama in the future than that stupid stupid makjang twist, for too many reasons to count. One being it being a farfetched magical fix for all their struggles, but the major one, technicalities of the how aside, that it would completely destroy the drama's theme they have built up with all the couples (family is more than blood) and instead are saying "it is only correct/right to love Jinjja when the kid is also of his blood" Plus it would void TK's bg (why give such backstory to him then even) and his struggle of being shunned for not being of his family's blood. Also him stepping up to love the child then would be bearing far less significance tying into finding his own acceptance with his past, adoptive father and family. It would cheapen his character development/so many things.

And... oh god i hate that idea and theory so much, sorry not sorry lmao.

Yes. Few survival tips, however.1) This is basically korean soap opera. Depending on whether or not you have watched…
Happy to hear ☺️

same here freeeend. I still watch other shows but mainly on ffw and without much enthusiasm (My Perfect Stranger…
Aww good luck and success for your thesis. And your english is perfectly fine, dw <3 I Just keep using it, it is how i learned english too (german native here), and how i am currently learning korean for that matter. Through exposure and practice ;)

I feel a good community, especially for a show this long can make or break its enjoyment and we really lucked out here in this regard on MDL. I read other discussion places and viki timed comments and they are partly so... well let's call it "interesting" lol, that i do wonder if we are indeed watching the same drama πŸ˜‚ Here however i actually enjoy the discussions bc ppl have a good grasp on the characters personalities and motivations here and don't take joseon granny nor psycho clown (too) serious, heh (dunno if that is my influence thru the weekly summaries but i like it πŸ˜‚) Thus I am happy that we all are going to spend a lot more weeks waiting together for new episodes and discussing them when they arrive :)

Kinda feel this is an underappreciated scene between them.

Outside of TK telling YD that she is worth reconsidering everything he believed in, I already swooned over, this is some godtier communication skills from this man in general here. Very emotionally intelligent and distinctive, his thoughts and feelings on the matter clearly expressed with his hesitations and fears also laid out to her. Like, he does not leave anything unaddressed she told him the night before, especially not in regard of Jinjja. It shows how much he already thought about it in that short amount of time of knowing and loving her. Very mature of him too, being this honest with telling YD how "he still needs time to figure out if he can do this (with Jinjja)" instead of promising her something he can't keep, just to make her stay. I think this conversation was in large part responsible for her changing her plans of leaving into the trial dating, to give him a chance like he asked.

Can't blame her for it, lol. Like it is getting more and more clear why his ex gf tried to marry this man despite very low odds of success ngl, haha.

And the ending of episode 12 was the most harebrained, contrived one i have seen in a while. Oh well. Hope FL…
Yeeep, exactly. Could not have said it better why it bothered me so much that i used the term harebrained. Because there is no more accurate one summing it up, lol.

Title The Real Has Come! Spoiler
I actually thought about which way the story will go and tbh, narratively the separation after that point is more…
Oh definitely. That part of her guilt is actually two-fold again. Once that she is gonna leave, taking the kid away from inok/CS, and of course that it ain't their bio-grandchild to begin with. (it is very fortunate that TK is financial independent from his horrible fam due to his career or else this would be a whole other/worse dumpster fire due to money grabbing allegations lolI

I feel that is yet again distinct from the lie itself and the biggest factor for YD feeling bad. Kinda catch 22 too. aka she feels guilty for lying when they are so nice so she feels the need to leave/end things quickly to not hurt them further and then feels guilty for leaving. Rinse and repeat, haha. I think to break that vicious circle will be hard work for inok/Taekyung, which imo starts with accepting the child nonetheless as her grandchild after TK is ready to be Jinjja's dad. I am sure inok will get there due to how much she likes YD and her son loves her (she always wanted him to marry for love after all), but it will take some time to digest that sense of "betrayal" and disappointment nonetheless. Which is only human.

The non-marriage registration is even more unfortunate now considering this. Because through marriage the kid would not just only be automatically assumed to be TK's as husband after birth (via SK law, unless contested in court, which lol JH would never) It would also be related to his parents thru their marriage. Without it tho, neither of it applies which makes things more difficult for them than needs to be, especially now where fake turns real and if lurking lyra finds out, lol. I still have hope they gonna rectify that in actually registering the marriage after their fresh start and before Jinjja's birth tho. I am sure the city hall dude will be ecstatic to see them again πŸ˜‚

Lying about it to them is also kinda yikes, but i get why in a way so that granny of joseon cannot continue her schemes, nor her now estranged lackey. They are however de facto married already, aka living and presenting as married couple to everyone, which the court does recognize, but of course registration is what makes it legally binding and recognized by law. Highly advisable for them to do then too, so they can't be torn apart by outer forces/people anymore.

As for BN, idk man. Could go either way, but she is also hella judgemental and such a drama queen. WILD wildcard indeed, but i hope inok and her brother can smack sense into her, lol. Basically YD told her long ago that TK isn't the father but she chose to not believe it, so yeah. That is on her lol.

Five Enough & My Father is Strange are on my to-watch list for the next time KBS throws us a stinker of a Family…
Aww sorry, didn't know that. The scene is one of the described couple saying reluctantly goodnight/goodbye after a hug since YT has to go home early tonight. So Sangmin is like I only let you go if you kiss me' and points at his cheek and turns it toward her. All very playful as YT smiles and waits a moment just to put a peck on his lips instead and runs up the stairs to her house, laughing. While he is that caught off guard by it that he gets 'knocked down' aka weak in the knees/swooning like a boxer getting hit, haha. He goes 'you can't just leave like that after this' :( and warns her not to fall haha

All very cute and playful fun, hence why I would love to see Yeondoo doing the same (once comfortable enough) just to stun the man completely in surprise heh.

Haha noice. It is extremely well watchable indeed. Finished it quicker than I thought.

Yep. A part of the story is meant to take place post birth, but we have no idea when it will happen, nor how big…
Saaaame πŸ‘Ά Also since it is so central to its plot, I hope the show ain't stingy with it like other kdramas and we get to see some pregnancy milestones along the way/with the leads together. Instead of you know the usual timejump and baby is there, lol. Aka milestones like first kid movement, Jinjja girl/boy reveal, TK/YD equipping nursery and getting general bb equipment, TK fussing over her, birth prep course together, things like that. Would help the viewer to get more attached to the true star of this drama too, btw.

And if a timejump happens, maybe we could cut from not *that* pregnant to the drive to the hospital with Taekyung being more distressed than his wife about to give birth, lmao. I mean normally i would say she is in good, professional hands with him, but i doubt he will be able to recall any medical knowledge at that point, hahaha. Gimme that writer, pls. 🀭

excellent choice, particularly if you want to see more of the trhc leads' romantic dynamic, which is reflected in Sangmin/Yeontae (minus the pregnancy angst, of course.) Hope you enjoy <3

Please do, well worth it since it is such a wholesome, chill family drama without big villains, heh. And Sangmin/Yeontae share a lot of similarities with our jinjja couple indeed. I currently rewatch their scenes in fact, they are so cuuuuuute <3

do u guys think YD will give birth to "Real" before the show ends ?
Yep. A part of the story is meant to take place post birth, but we have no idea when it will happen, nor how big the part will be in the end. Could be four episode or ten, lol. Only thing that is safe is that we are getting a timejumpt to ensure jinjja is going to make their appearance beyond the baby bump (hopefully soon to follow in a in-story month or two when YD is further along than currently 14 weeks)

Not even a month ago, Yeondoo was cheated on and betrayed by the man she thought she would marry who on top of…
totally forgot to reply, sorry. You said your writing is not good and yet you illustrated exactly why YD agreed to the two months of dating <3 She already cares for TK a lot and we see her recalling her words about giving him a chance more than once. And as you said, it is exactly what she is doing with that, without committing forever (for now.) It is trial dating in every sense of the word to explore the "what could be's" so she does not grieve for what could HAVE been later on. To give it a chance in a safe environment with a predetermined way out. That is the best she can give him now, but you also noticed that she wanted to give him *something*, and with it, herself too. To see if there maybe MAYBE could be something more for them beyond it (tho i think a split/her sticking to plan is more likely before restarting with a clean sheet and full commitment)

Here is hoping the eight weeks lead to a deeper bond between all three of them. In fact i am quite sure it will happen, as TK's feelings for her are bound to grow bigger and more profound during that time. So he will do his best to convince her to stay with him, loving her in his honest way and little by little gaining her trust that he won't betray and leave her like her ex did. Which will give YD the chance to open up more, to feel safe/appreciated/loved after her heartbreak and all the uncertainties she is facing, like a vacation from it all. While TK also has the chance in that time to wrap his head around to seriously consider the possibility of not only raising a kid but raising a kid that is biologically not his. Though given his background (good going writer, well set up) I think we already know what the answer will be πŸ₯°

i've been in drama slump for months. so many j/kdrama i want to watch but feel like i have no energy & mood to…
same here freeeend. I still watch other shows but mainly on ffw and without much enthusiasm (My Perfect Stranger for example has people gushing and i am just meh about it, I only speedrun Tale of Ninetails 1938 and dropped good bad mother too. Somehow i keep failing to connect to the characters within a drama atm) TRHC is the big big exception to it, like the count days till next episode, obsess over the leads exception. But other than that i feel nothing really is gripping me (bora was the last show i enjoyed.) I am hoping for See You In My 19th Life with my beloved Shin Haesun pulling me out of the slump. King The Land looks good too to balance out the slower more complex romance here, heh.

Oh and I also slowly watch Love With Flaws atm which is the prior work of AJH and silly to the max. No wonder we see his expression shift rapidly at times in TRHC, he had ample time to practice his comedic acting in that drama, hahaha. The things the script has him doing there, omg.

Can we get Yeondoo doing the same with Taekyung pls, bc i am sure his reaction would be very similar πŸ˜‚

https://youtu.be/iito2fDAOT0?t=3280

(Just remembered that Sangmin calls Yeontae Yeondoo/Yeondu, bc he misheard her name the first time and it stuck with him. Hah, they remind me a LOT on our jinjja otp couple, indeed. Sangmin = prior playboy, never in a serious relationship till meeting YT, is super head over heels for her and showering her with puppy-like adoration. YT changes his life for the better, makes him rethink all prior beliefs and thru her becomes a better, more mature person overall.

Yeontae = school teacher cares a lot about ppl around her, very diplomatic and nice unless she is pushed too far. Feels the need to deal with problems on her own instead to ask for help, doesn't want to be a bother to others. She is way more reserved with her feelings, needs a lot time to get comfortable with any display of or receiving affection. Very set in her way, stubborn once her mind is made up and need a lot of convincing to reconsider something. SM helps her to become more in tune and open with her emotions, show her that she is beautiful and worth of (being) love(d) and then some (low self-esteem) and not to overthink everything. Sounds familiar? Heh.

Plus they started off disliking each other too, until SM fell first for her and started to woo a very reluctant YT in a very adamant golden retriever fashion like Taekyung (currently) does with Yeondoo. )
