The teaser for episode 15 made me so curious now, the baby could be his real son from a one-night stand because…
Given Taekyung's background of being raised by his mother alone, and then adopted as a teen into a rich family, it makes no sense to snip the crooked makjang finger and conjure an one-night stand out of the blue, only to make YD's child biologically his. In particular because the drama's goal is, imo, to show that family is more than blood and can be chosen.
And TK is having sympathy morning sickness because subconsciously he has started to embrace fatherhood and is bonding more and more with YD and the child without being fully aware of it as of yet. In his mind, the lie is starting to become real (pun intended) and this process will only continue/deepen, especially when he comes to realize his care and concern for YD is much more than just obligation/appearance. Thus, in the end, he will be a dad to their kid in all *but* genes and will love it with all of his heart just as much as if it were :)

Yeah also previews are always misleading and also Bong Sim has overheard the phone talk of SJ's dad with her and will certainly let her daughter know about this broad's lies. So i think you could be right here with the leads not trusting her and instead keep up an appearance of buying her niceness as much as Cruella does play it. Oh, exciting bc it requires teamwork and a lot of communication of/between them both... which in effect, leads to more closeness π
I hate Goldi Golddigger like the next person here on MDL, but she is really just the narrative device that serves to bring the leads closer together. And that to the point where they will realize their feelings for each other. Because without the wicked witch's grand delulu scheme, they could easily coast their lie to the three months deadline without needing to do much and then each of them would go about their lives.
Cruella however ensures they stay on their toes, look out for each other and in effect that will deepen their bond. Especially seeing how TK's protective/caring Papa Bear mode has been fully activated by now (that sympathy morning sickness next week, aww) and YD has admitted to "hate SJ for no reason" (it is called jealousy my dear π€) Cruella's plan to hurt/expose Yeondoo and "shake them up" is bound to epically backfire (in the end.) Because it creates an "us against her/them" mentality for the leads and they will grow (much) closer in effect of that.

Yeeees, I love this element of sympathy morning sickness coming into play, because it suits his empathic, caring character so well. It shows that their lie has started to become real for him. He is truly bonding with YD and with the baby, and is embracing his role deep down/subconsciously (since it is a psychological/hormonal thing that happens there heh) however momentary that is (initially) planned to be/last.
Which is where Cruella comes into play, tbh. Ofc she is super-irritating and a caricature villainous SFL with her delusions and entitlement, but narratively she is kinda important to keep the leads on their toes. With her schemes they can't just coast their way to the three months deadline, where each of them goes back to ther lifes. Instead she ensures that they need to be cautious and protecting each other. I think in her attempt to expose and hurt YD and to shake them up, that delulu broad will achieve the exact opposite and bring them (much) closer together. Especially seeing how YD has started to "hate her for no reason" (psst, it is called jealousy my dearπ€) and with TK's protective Papa Bear mode now full in bloom, lol.

Thank you. After watching with subs i have seen i got some things quite wrong. But oh well it is to be expected with my (low) lvl of korean still, lol.

True. I don't miss him tho tbh. Cruella is vexing enough on her own with her banshee of a mother she put into her servitude now, tbh. I am glad Bong Sim did the kdrama thing and overheard the phone talk with her dad where she wants to force him to lie, at least.

hmm i think it is for the latter part of the drama. Maybe when Real is born and an ensuing custody battle is happening or something? I am not sure if we see the kid getting born tho since the story is pretty day to day atm and not skipping much in terms of time tho. Would love to see a time skip once the leads are committed to each other, maybe.
But that character is meant to be another obstacle to our lovely leads' happiness, for sure. Plus his story ties in with Sea Witch Ursula xD

Right? I feel Taekyung's brain has kinda switched to "head empty only wifey" mode in today's episode with how much he made an effort with YD and her family. And this because he wanted to not a forced sense of duty like in yesterday's episode. He slowly but surely comes to enjoy their company and feels accepted and comfortable with YD and her fam. I had expected him to need longer and struggle more to live together with YD than just what we saw yesterday, but he is surprisingly taking it in a stride. So far even that the thought of living on his own again soon elates him no longer as it did before. Wow. Particularly for someone declaring that he wants to keep his distance to her, he frets about Yeondoo being angry and how to undo her ire and wanting her family to like him a lot haha.
I also think that sympathy pregnancy bit we are going to see with him next week, amusingly so, is meant to show his growing attachment to his (not) wife and child. Still a long way to go till we see them becoming/being REAL of course but todays episode proves the process has already started for TK. So for Cruella (i have so many names for this broad lmao) to slot into her, stealing him away or whatever inane shit she is planning, i gotta say best of effin luck. It is not as though he hates her lol. So as you said the best she can expect is a thank you, because it is about Yeondoo here.
And you notice YD getting more and more cranky and annoyed whenever Sea Witch π§ββοΈ appears by now. Which is not to blame on her pregnancy hormones, but sort of, not yet full on yet jealousy. She is cautious about telling him anything sejin related due to him pushing her away so much the last time they ran into her together. And she does not want a repeat of that. Anyway, before i write another 5k words essay here lol, i say i fully agree that Goldi Golddigger serves as friction point in the story and between our lovely leads in order to bring them closer together/serve as a mirror to show them their budding feelings for each other.
I enjoy your summaries - especially those describing the looks/tone of Main Lead interexchange, whether verbal…
Thank you. I have been a hobbyist fiction writer for many years before kdrama sucked me into its rabbithole, so i cannot NOT be descriptive i think. It is not how i operate when writing lol. Glad you like it haha.
Yeah i noticed this today with writing the recap, there was so much being said that i struggled with summarizing it appropriately. Aka what to mention and what leave out and such and it took me ages today due to that. Would i translate more of the actual dialogue, my text would be double the length lol, since its sheer amount of it is very overwhelming at times. Especially when watched live with no repetition, so i was lost at first wth happened at the end bc it all happened so fast lol. Rewatching the raw version helped me to clarify a lot of it tho, but of course there are things that i will only understand w/o subs in a couple of years and more extensive vocab/grammar knowledge. But alone the thought to translate it all into subs sends me head spinning, i cannot imagine doing that even if i were on a very advanced level w/ my korean. So all the kudos in the world to the viki sub team of this show, because woah. A shitton of work indeed.

Way too long tho, but oh well haha. I am ride or die for the leads by now, so i will graciously ignore all the irritating Sea Witch/Cruella content in order to see their falling in love/married for real arc happening. I'm still not over the fact that we see TK being sympathy pregnant next week with morning sickness and all haha. He is already in too deep, so that husband/father train he hopped on weeks ago, is only going forward now, chu chu chu π

Yeeeeah always loved to write, but tbh went a bit overboard here, lol. Next time i need to dial it back again bc it took way too long to complete haha. But then again, so much happened here. Especially regarding the development between the leads and TK reaching acceptance for living together way faster than thought. To the point even where he is now "pregnant together" with YD next week and i just can't with this man. π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯°π₯°
