So basically they have an argument. over food no less, and her not appreciating it/him enough and her being passive aggressive about what he said over the phone.... without confronting him about it. But they are/insist on not (being) married, nor close when it all awfully sounds like a couple fighting? Sure sure, whatever lets them sleep better at night i guess 😂

I got the first part with him complaining very sarcastically to his hyung about "his married life/being a husband and how it all is too much"and YD not wanting TK to know she heard all of it. As well as him being perplexed why she is so angry at him, but then they kinda lost me after that, lol. And ouch, suffering is definitely the wrong choice of words here, but then again he IS drunk and frustrated so it is bound to slip out. No wonder he has big regrets the next day whoops.

But also you know you have reached truly a couple status when sometimes small arguments, here over food, escalate to something bigger, lol. I feel it is gonna implode more in tomorrows episode bc he is like a taut bowstring pulled back too far in danger of snapping atm. And YD is also not exactly happy with the current situation, mildly put. Oh well 😬

tbf, we still have half of the show to go, so it would be very unrealistic and boring if she were already her best self, she (hopefully) will be when the drama hits episode 16. There needs to be room left to grow in the next eight episodes for her character, after all. It is all part of the process of relearning and reclaiming her independence after decades of subservience.

the best part is that while she said she won't come back here, she now owns this place. He will never ever be able to eat there again without thinking about that situation and talk, which shows in his reaction with the food afterwards. It was his soul food, something he loved eating to cheer him up, and now she ruined it for him. And I could not love this fact any more.

I am nothing if not wordy, err, thorough, lol. My korean isn't the best either (have to get back into studying it more seriously again, as soon i stop being so damn lazy about it lol) but it suffices to understand around 60% of it now, at least. Helps of course that they speak slowly/clearly too and the vocab is kept pretty simple too. I might still get some things wrong or misunderstand bc context is super-important in korean (as it can fully change the meaning of a sentence) and this i only get with the subs a day later. So yeah xD

Oh thank you and no prob. I think this is a drama you gotta look at with humor bc otherwise the makjang within is gonna strain every of your nerves to a snapping point otherwise. Also the leads are adorable af and make it worth to stick to the insanity that is this show haha.

Goldi Golddigger hid first her earrings in a drawer than herself as our lovely leads came back home quickly, interrupting her cia-like snooping. GG hid very inconspicuously behind a GLASS wall, but that at least gave her a good view/listen to Taekyung giving Yeondoo her birthday gift. That snake had waited for and expected anything but a loving doting TK, hah. In your face.

Yeondoo's pregnancy cravings have begun and did not stop the whole episode 😂 That scene of her munching kimchi in the main house kitchen in the dark (because she was hungry at night and they had none anymore in their fridge) was framed like a horror movie scene with joseon granny turning on the light and finding her there xD She is pissed that YD is eating the kimchi she made and ofc the struggle for the box ends with YD on the ground and kimchi all over her. The others find them there and initially only In Ok cares about YD and helps her, but a nice side effect is that YD is basically acting as a mirror for the family and shows them how unreasonable joseon granny acts. To the point where they even prompting her to apologize to YD. She is definitely well-liked by both of TK's parents and they speak up for her and defend her more and more 🥺 Ofc the old bat turns back into a sulking toddler and refuses to apologize.

YD sprained her ankle as she fell down, so the doting husband era of Taekyung begins and, much to his dismay, does not stop for the full episode, haha. YD is hungry again or still, so TK offers to go to the Convenient Store for Tteobokki, buying five different ready to eat kind and finding a kindred spirit and compassion/pity in the store clerk hahahaa. "It is for your pregnant wife, right? Mine ate them too at night." 🤭 He was also added to Oh Fam group chat and they bombard him with text messages for the smallest things, even during work. It is the Taekyung suffer/struggle era too, to fulfill his not wife's food and her family's selfie/text nagging demands, but the man is trying his best, okay? The real has come for him in form of him truly taking over the oh so unwanted husband role and caretaker, and you can see the NOPE building up in him all the way through the episode. It is adorable as heck while it lasts, tho bc you see here glimpses of him being bestest hubby for her here, that he will become for real in the (still distant) future.

I swear the clinic assistants are the biggest gossip girls. When Taekyung is sleepwalking into his working place after a long night of tteokbokki hunting/feeding quest for not-wife, they look at him and snicker while he zombie-shuffles into his praxis. "dr. gong is so tired." goes gossip girl no1 "Of course, he is newly married" GG girl no.2 replies (or something similar, excuse my korean failings) and both are 😏😏😏at that. Best thing is he hears it and is very intent on correcting them, which only makes them go ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) more behind his back 😂

Not Taekyung nearly failing the impulse to check his phone when YD texts him in demand for more food, while he has patients sitting in front of him. But they turn out to be very understanding as the texting/demands (this time chicken) continues, and he apologizes for it. "We heard rumors that you will become a father too, is this correct?" and they congratulate him even, aww while he is smiling through the pain🤣

She does not tell TK about it, instead moodily rejecting the many boxes of food (chicken, i think?) he brought home and he looks after her like a puppy left in the pouring rain. Aww.

Proving there is a real devoted husband hidden beneath commitment issues and his freedom loving ways, he does not give up and instead cooks for her. With the kitchen and him looking as if a tornado storm passed through, but it is the thought that counts lol. Plus the man is so proud as he presents the result to her. Unfortunately her raging pregnancy hormones are turning her into a snobby food critic that day, so she only complains about everything instead to praise his efforts. Really felt sorry for him there. Like the food wasn't the best but i think this was his first attempt ever and he did it for her, so give him a bit of a break, yeah?

He is taking the break in buying a lot of beer in the same convenient store, exhausted and flour-dusted face and all. He finds his brother in kind there again too who only looks at him amused and in pity. He knows what TK is going thru lmao. Taekyung is blowing off steam in getting a bit drunk and first rejecting YD's call then snarkily complains about YD and his (unwanted) spouse duties as his brother in low hyung calls right after. Too bad he is playing himself here because YD is standing right next to hyung. Since he in the annex to apologize to YD for mistaking her to have blabbed about his divorce. Oh well that is one deep hole dug in drunken stupor and not-wifey is not amused about it, whoops. Yeondoo waits for his return like a scorned wife and they continue their argument and him putting his foot in his mouth to the point where she is storming off in best longtime couple having an argument fashion. While he is caught between "whatever" and "oh shit. what did i do"

Next day, TK sits hungover in his clinic and tries hypnotic tricks with staring at his suspiciously silent phone, racking his brain about if and how he should apologize to his all but legally-wife. Goes to show how infinitely bothered he is by their argument last night, and honestly they are so married already without any of them even realizing it 😁

TK's parents plan a birthday party for YD of sorts, which is just them all eating dinner together as a family. Which is huge as Taekyung was never allowed to eat with them before. So ofc joseon granny starts sulking like a toddler and refuses to eat anything the whole day. And here the narrative shows finally her as being ridiculous. Not her crying in her room like a grounded teenager with old ass music blaring to muffle her temper tantrum. In the end she is convinced by In Ok to take part at the dinner and promptly starts eating as tho she is gonna drop dead afterwards and this is her last meal. Granny was hungry af and for once she is actually a bit cute in all her immature ridiculousness. I doubt the cuteness has permanence however. TK's parents ship the leads so much they gift them couple rings. They are all of us haha. The gift is hella awkward for them tho, especially since they are prompted by them to put them on for each other, lol. And ofc GG appears uninvited like doom or covid itself to announce that she won't go to the USA. SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH. So much for getting a break from that bitch.

There are also some cute scenes of development between YD's bro and TK's sis, but i am hyperfocused/zoomed in on the leads so i don't pay much attention to the side characters tbh, lol. Preview is part same old with joseon granny plotting w/goblin golddigger and part HELL YA with her getting slapped by her father (divorce impending i bet) and TK once more stepping fully in his protector role as YD is threatened by some shady dude in front of the convenient store. i wonder what it was about bc of course exactly there my korean fails to grasp the context. Sigh.
