Watching Soohyuk with Bora and how expressive and open he actually is with her in both words and body language, i can hardly imagine that the major complaint his ex had was the lack of verbal confirmation/communication. But on the other hand, I think SH is a bit of a foil to Bora in regard of their exes. Both had kinda gaslighted themselves into thinking they are happy/all is going well without actually checking in and that their then partner is "the one," just because they had been together for so long already. When in truth they never were "real" with them. Neither of them showed their ex partner the true messy, emotional self like they do for each other (tho bora more than SH on the messy side, lol) and rather played a role and kept up the "perfect" appearance. Soohyuk with his being too cool/above voicing his emotions and Bora playing the perfect girlfriend engineered straight from one of her dating books for her bf. (at least until the breakup)

Imo, they are only now authentic, where they had found each other. Starting from dislike and skipping straight to besties with all the embarrassing bits that made hiding anything or being cautious/self-conscious superfluous. This is why they are much more at ease with each other than they ever were with their exes. Because with each other they are and can be themselves, the whole register of emotions included, which makes their dynamic so natural and organic, tbh. Thus why those two are totally "married forever" material, hehe.

Yes. ML Kang Han Su is basically a mixture of (Joseon) Vincenzo and Jack Sparrow and i could not love him more for it 😂 The drama has the same energy too plus a cute romance and some dark undertones in the plot. Well paced with good story beats too.

Not him being "Phew, I am not the only one. We were both guillable idiots. High five!" 😂 (I love him sm 🥹🥹🥹)

Hell yeah, you even saw how he forgot to breathe while she did her whole "seduction tactics" spiel, and it was not because he was busy cringing. More like busy staring and then playing it off as "ridiculous" 😏 Yeah they basically skipped right from the enemies to bff/married forever stage without making halt for the first cautious get to know each other one, and that is so very different from any other kdrama i have seen. Which is why i love their dynamic so much, it is so natural in all its embarrassing weirdness they went through together haha.

I am so proud of Bora. She has come so far and isn't done going places. I love how SH helped her to get back on her feet in all the different, small ways so she that she can be her old, quirky self he finds so incredibly endearing. They are perfect for each other and my favorite thing is nothing about them falling in love feels forced. Aka they have to because they are the leads. Nope, it all makes sense in the bounds of the story and their characters. Definitely one of my fave dramas of this year thus far.

I think, they will need another episode or two to stop chicken out about their feelings for each other and to face them, including clearing up the misunderstanding and hurt it caused. I am hella ready for their certainly no less chaotic cute dating era tho :D

I think best advice i can give you as a makjang newbie myself (and usually disliking it) is too not think too much about the events onscreen, nor question its coherence (or rather lack of it.) Just roll with it for the maximum enjoyment in not taking it too seriously, popcorn in hands 😁

Yeah it will be something like that, only with more chaos because Bora being Bora 😂 I think they do need one or two episodes more to sort everything out before we are truly entering the dating era, tho. Which means sorting through and clarifying their own feelings, and discuss it with each other (apologizing, where to go from there etc) Won't be boring either way with these two dorks, tho 😁

I have rather the impression that he IS aware and tries to downplay it. Because he looked hella uncomfortable in that Bibimbap scene and went out of his way with every excuse possible to not eat lunch with her before that.

Yep, they repeat it until it is "whoops why are we in bed naked" and "whoops why am i at the altar in fancy clothes with my whole family present?" of course. You know it all happens accidentally, like tripping 😂

Yeeees. She really has that hypnotic effect on him, even as he scoffs and makes fun of her (good-natured tho, not in a mean way), she is always on his mind and stays there. Okay kinda hard to forget her after everything he has seen 😂... but it really is the classic case of feelings sneaking up on him more and more until that oh so famous "oh shit" moment where he is already in too deep.

And I love how subtle the changes with him were, at first. (so well done too, because it really was an organic process)

In episode 7 he was still exhausted and a tad annoyed of her latest escapade, if in a more roll eyes/shake head with a smile- "I can't believe it" manner. Then he played along with her excuses out of embarrassment and it turned his prior annoyance into full on amusement (that "I am still sleeping" text, epic lol ) until he full on smiled during that video call, starting to really look at her. He laughed about her "seduction tactics," but as cheesy as they were they worked more on him than he cared to admit even before realization hit him in bed. (at work) He is no longer (mentally) exhausted and his mood had brightened considerably, telling his friend how it all is surprisingly fun lately. He enjoys spending time with Bora on their work meetings, and smiles a loooot more (during them) than before. He laughs her slow motion dress theory off until she comes out of the changing room and he is utterly mesmerized by the way she looks, her beauty. On his free day, he cannot focus on his book, and fails to ignore her request for help despite trying to, and telling her so beforehand, and .... whoops YOU ARE IN LOVE SOOHYUK. I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA HOW THAT HAPPENED???? 😏😂

Phew, i feel i need a cigarette after the ending of eps 8 and i am a non- smoker 😂 Like the build up of tension between the leads throughout the episode more and more and *more* until it SNAPPED at the end was done so so sooooo well. One of the best i have seen in a kdrama (recently) tbh. Since it perfectly showed their awkwardness and self-awareness of each other in that small, confined space, and then those seconds of silence right before... phew as said. I think i need a moment 😂

Oh of course... he does later on, if in a "haha i can't believe this nonsense she pulled" way. The result is the same though, because while scoffing amused, he indeed thinks about her. A lot 😏

I think making him irredeemable is kinda the point of this pos character tho ;) The drama's narrative is very unforgiving and negative toward husband and i love every moment of it <3
