Title True to Love Spoiler
lmao and they meet again at the police station, as both fell victim to voice phishing. The cute difference here is however, if you can call it that in the misfortune to lose so much money that Soo Hyuk wired the money no questions asked to who he thought was Bora. Tells you a lot about him, aka that he was ready to help her even monetary despite not knowing her that well yet. Good guy with good intentions, pity it was a scam he fell for, instead.

Title True to Love Spoiler
The voice phishing plot came out of no where. I wonder if it's going to be relevant to the main story or just…
maybe to raise awareness but above al else it is used as a tool to make bora get back to work, since she lost all her money (and i would strangle my sister for it if i were her, ngl) Perhaps they get the perpetrators later too when things are looking up for her, idk. For now it is just a plot device to force her back into ML's workplace, so their romance can finally start, lol.

that is the first time i have seen a lead trying to actually refund a ring instead to fling it dramatically (and stupidly) into the han river. So kudos for that even if it ultimately failed, lol. (as far as i understood in the raw version, its size was either custom-made or they don't refund gifts idk. He had a receipt and all tho) Now go sell it on ebay, or something lol

a 50 eps drama with a rating of 8.2??
Rating reflects the current state of the drama and are accurate, imo. It is screechy and with a lot of asshole characters, but also very fast paced, issues are quickly solved instead of drawn out and has very endearing leads with a promising build up to their romance (if you like the fake relationship till it gets real/"forced" cohabitation trope.) ML in particular is such a green flag, always checking in with FL about her feelings/wellbeing and good in communicating his own. The drama may go downhill later on, possibly but for now it is an interesting fun watch if you just roll with it.

Yes. It's a weekend family drama (like a soap opera). They are usually long.
yeah, i feel this is the case with many c-dramas tbh, lol

Looks like a drunken rebound "mistake." Well at least they are a mess together instead just bora on her own. Yay for progress lmao

Yeah those are the reasons why I have not delved into c-drama much tbh. I did watch 'the day of becoming you lately which was just' 26 eps but it could have been shortened 10 eps minimum bc nothing happened in the middle of it and I was skip watching so much lol

Title Call It Love
May I Help You (don't let its perky romcom facade fool you, it is full on melo romance, lol. Dealing with a lot…
Depends on your mood. May I Help you is a little faster paced and has some humor in between the sadness while call it love is somber and solemn throughout. MIHY deals with a lot of death and trauma in its side stories (and ML especially halfway through) while CIL is more grounded into the here and now happening to the leads. Romance is quite wholesome in MIHY but takes a backseat in the last few episodes in favor of the plot while their romance and its conflict is front and center in CIL. MIHY also has mystery elements in its latter story like crash course on romance had, and a plot turn you may or may not see coming, just fyi. So if you want a somber slow burn story without "much noise" beside it CIL is a great choice whereas you get some supernatural and mystery elements in the story of MIHY. Both need patience and empathy from your side for ML in particular in order to be able to fully enjoy these dramas tho.

Oof that is some serious time investment here then, wow. I'm already overwhelmed with watching the family drama Five Enough on the side bc it feels it takes no end lol

yep, same. She has been my favorite since watching mr. queen (one of my first ever kdramas)

Considering how many times they mention miscarriage and always worried about the FL being stressed and her having…
Ooooor Taekyung could break the cycle in stepping up for the child and give it all the love and attention needed, so it never feels illegitimate or unloved in the first place like he had been before. (for which i blame his wet sack of an adoptive father who never stood up for him.) Would be very much preferable and much more wholesome than to send YD through the harrowing, traumatic experience of a miscarriage and portray the messed up message that a child is less worth when it has not the "right blood." (and thus needs to be get rid off/die, only to be replaced with the "good, genetically correct" child instead.)

I mean this is not a historical drama where they are royalty in need of an heir for the throne, nor is the Joseon era anymore, despite granny's continuous delusional insistence of both, lol.

FL is seriously owning her role, but how long are they gonna beat her up into a pulp with that break up? It's…
Ngl, i would not have thrown the ring into the river either. It is a damn expensive thing and would be a senseless waste of money after all. Does he have no receipt for it to return it instead? πŸ˜†

Agree on the time skip. Ideally it would have happened after the 4th episode, but alas we did not get that. On the other hand i enjoy to see the leads bonding over their shared misery, and establish some sort of relationship (however fragile atm) instead to wait until she pops up at his working place to start "getting to know each other." Though obviously none of them is currently in the right mind to start anything new, least of all a romantic relationship with each other. So maybe a small time skip would be for the best after all.

Yeah, it is a bit grating but obviously the preview is using these lines to "sensationalize" the upcoming episode and get people to tune in. By now it should be apparent that their path keeps crossing no matter how often they say or use it for their preview lol
On See You in My 19th Life Apr 26, 2023
"The character of Ban Ji Eum, who has lived for over a thousand years, requires exceptional acting ability. The actress we were looking for needed to be cool, beautiful, and charismatic, and there was no one who could fulfill all of those requirements as precisely as Shin Hye Sun," (director-nim about SHS)

Could not have said it any better, bless <3

Why is it so sad so far? I thought it was going to be a cute rom-com:(. I still like it tho
it feels way more slice of life than a light romcom. Aka similar to Age Of Youth, Be Melodramatic, and such. The scriptwriters other work was also not super-light as mad for each other deals with a lot of mental health issues and struggling leads (with humorous moments in between) as they slowly heal/move on, together. Mmmh i see a theme here regarding the last bit haha

I love Deborah. I’m loving the reality aspect in a clichΓ© romcom! Sure, she’s frustrating but putting myself…
Yeah, given today's episode where ML told her a breakup is like a common cold is ironic because this is exactly how kdramas treat them normally. Aka all is better in a heartbeat or two, or after an obligatory crying scene. Here it is closer to how it really is, and regarding it is her first time being dumped/cheated on (after a long term relationship at that) it is no surprise it needs time and she is a heap of a mess lol. It does not make for the most frustration-free watch and i too want to grab her shoulders and shake her at times admittedly haha, but this drama is about her love life after all. So those weepy, messy frustrating bits are also a part of it πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Here is hoping tho that she will live her best life (with ML) later on, because after all that is the best revenge there is.

I always thought they would get closer while working together, but i actually prefer that the leads are bonding outside of that. As we say shared misery is misery halfed πŸ˜‰ Both are still stuck in between, yet to move on from their heartbreak, but due to that they have found a kindred spirit in each other and i like how this is their prelude to more, to heal, instead of a cliche workplace romance, heh.
