The female lead actress changed her frozen face at last ,, she's finally acting right for the first time in her…
Yeah. I feel it is like a swim or sink situation here, she *has* to keep up with kjh in some kind of way or be left behind. And playing off him in a scene certainly does her more favors than doing the same with... Cha Eun Woo, for example. So no wonder she has improved in this drama with kjh as acting partner.
That actually sounds about right. There is the post-production editing and adding in any special effects that…
Exactly. These things are so much work, particularly for an effect heavy show, but so important and make watching. a kdrama so much better an experience. Otherwise you would have a show looking like this, without music/dark light/micros everywhere, like in this mistakenly uploaded eps version of love for suckers (long since fixed on amazon prime but dramacool and co still have this hilarious raw cut version of it) xD
Ah so the grim reaper was the chef guy in Mr queen, I was scratching my head as he looked so familiar lol.
Yeeeep. Lady Choi has been promoted to the god of rumor (how fitting) and royal chef is now the god of greed who used the five minutes to complain about his former king and now again boss very time effectively btw π
Whether being tired is enough or not, he could've sat her down and had a proper decent conversation with her instead…
Ah i see, sorry then lol. Just mentioned it bc a lotta ppl in the comment apply their western idea of divorce to what we are shown in the drama. I mean sure ideally he would have talked to her like an adult should in a marriage, but it seems he was running against walls for years already and has given up to try to oppose her, or make her listen when she so rarely if ever did. To fix things you need the other person's cooperation. If he was (1) scared of his wife and (2) felt like she couldn't compromise and understand him, then his actions make sense. It is right? No, but tbh, understandable and human, however flawed.
Personally, I don't find anything more frustrating than talking to someone but feeling like I've said nothing. When someone can't (or won't) put themselves in your position, you can take a step back and save your energy. And it is exhausting to be around people seems to not consider you. It's even worse if you feel like you can't voice your needs because that person has power over you or because your scared of them. Maybe it is because i have been there myself, with different circumstances, that i understand where he is coming from/acted as he did. On the other side, i feel sorry for Ha Ra too with all this truth now crushing down on her. It is a bitter pill to swallow, especially after for years (rightfully) thinking him being the cheating devil that destroyed their long-time marriage for a quick affair, instead of her (and HIM- both actually) bearing the guilt for its failing.
I hope we get to see more from his pov too, so far the actor had to work a lot with micro-expressions alone to convoy his character's conflicted feelings. So it would be great to actually see what is going on in this head more directly, like we already have done with FL.
Ok. This show is weird. They had 16 episodes of plot in just the first episode. I have absolutely no idea where…
Yeah first episode was.... a wild ride xD To where we don't know yet, but the ending is very promising with KJH/Kokdu unleashed at last. I *never* judge a kdrama by one episode alone either, so i am looking forward to tomorrow for a (hopefully) a bit more complete picture haha
Oh also don't forget to rate the episode so we can get a rating for this show and it can finally appear on the "Airing/top airing show" tab to give it some exposure here on MDLπ
thinking about ML actions I start supposse that the real reason of their divorce was that he can"t have children…
Nah. He already told her that he would have addressed that directly with her. if there had been a grave reason for divorce. The problem he had was... there was none (from SK's law standpoint that would "justify" a divorce in court, hence why he cooked up the plan.
Tbh, the first episode was a bit confusing with all the names and events thrown at ya like that, but i don't mind. I am just happy to see Kim Jung Hyun again onscreen, so yeah <3 His part as Do Jin was so understated, quiet and restrained that the contrast to Kokdu is so very stark. It feels like KJH finally got unleashed from all the prior restraints in the last five minutes acting-wise. His screen presence and versatility are no joke.
ISH once more plays the downtrodden low self-esteem FL archetype, nothing new here. Tho i like that she has some fire and she will no doubt have to be a quick learner in standing her ground if she wants to be able to handle Kokdu π The last five minutes with their mini-Mr. Queen reunion were the best, most funny part tho. I already love these three and hope we get a lotta more scenes with them together xD
Second episode looks promising with the ordering around coming into play and... flirty Kokdu? π€ Already a fun drama but i feel it just has begun for real with Kokdu's arrival at the end.
