Okay--IDK about you, but I'm pissed! I got to epi 14, was set to watch 15 & 16 and got told I have to upgrade…
I mean you can't expect to watch currently airing shows/episodes for FREE on a paid streaming platform (that offers free older content w/ ads and let's you try the first episodes of current shows before a paywall comes into effect) So that sounds like a you problem. Try dramacool or something for stuff like that instead.

I like the attires that the leads are wearing in this drama. Especially Hyeri's casual clothes.
Yes. It really underlines the down to earth story and the leads being normal people instead of rich chaebol heirs or something, styled as if they are on a runway. Their clothes have a refreshingly casual, cozy everyday style, especially for a kdrama.

Now that our ship has sailed... let's look for a side couple! Some people ship Seo Hae Ahn and Chung Ha, and So…
I ship chungha with finding her six feet buried self worth/respect and her stop being utterly depended on a partner for her own emotional wellbeing (which should not be the sole task of an s.o. ever) tbh.

But given that she has a doctor colleague already simping for her she will just continue as is, without working on her issues and lack of social network/stability. And with new guy being responsible for every single thing in her life/doing all the emotional labor for her πŸ™ƒπŸ€‘πŸ’€πŸ’€

Not the best or the worst drama, pretty watchable for the most part with some annoyances and odd writing decisions/directions. Still overall it was decent, have seen way worse shows, but also way better ones lol. Surprisingly fluffy and satisfying ending, tying off all loose ends, tho. The leads' romance wasn't romancing much in the end, but i guess you get this old married couple vibe when knowing each other for two decades already haha. 7.5/10

I love how Dongjoo's ex tried to fuck around with Taehee and ended up finding out. TH easily would have taken verbal abuse against himself (and did, even) but talking shit about the person he loves? It is finding out time then, stats. That punch was so satisfying i replayed it as often as the kiss tbh πŸ˜‚

I mean it is part of his character progress and not pulled out of the writers ass for shit and giggles/angst for…
Oh i getcha with that. I would have preferred the dating era to already start tonight, but next week looks promising regarding that, at least haha. And the kiss in the end feels rewarding instead of cliche, bc it was a such a long process for both of them and especially taehee to get there.

The client's wishes have become only a small part of the drama (probably an effect of the itaewon tragedy) that is fully focused on its leads by now, but they always tie in nicely in where the characters are or did at the time. Here it is a lie at the start w/ Taehee rejecting DJ despite being full on in love with her (and aware of it), and DJ's client's case is about playing the role of the best friend at the dead client's sister's wedding bc the woman is ashamed of having no friends/family. So basically deception and lying as well, with whatever good intent behind it. Tis a nice mirror narrative-wise for Taehee to look into for various (spoilery) reasons, tbh.

It is things/writing like that and not using jealousy or other cliches to kick Taehee into action instead of avoidance that makes the drama differ from others using that "trope" or however you wanna call it haha. Also there are enough light moments in between (their uncles teaming up as cupids and being cute/hilarious in general. Hae An being cute (and extra) And situational, character-focused humor, especially w/ Vincent side-eyeing the hell out of TH more often than not this eps 🀣) so it is not all doom and gloom by far, dw xD

Tongue and all in public stawppp 😌😌😌
My man Taehee held back for so long, he had to seize the moment when it finally arrived πŸ˜‚

Let's go Chung Ha and Hae Ahn. two psychos together.
Awww nooooo. Hae Ahn is a cutie, who is just a bit extra/grandiose with his emotions, but respectful nonetheless. He does not deserve to be lumped together with entitled delulu ex tbh.

As soon as he lied about his feelings at the start of episode 10 I was like "ugh so I have to sit thorugh an episode…
I mean it is part of his character progress and not pulled out of the writers ass for shit and giggles/angst for the angst sake. His actions/avoidance falls in line with his words, or rather trauma/survivor guilt, spoken (about) in the last episode. And unlike in other kdrama i find it solved in an organic way, since as nearly every bit of dialogue, actions of characters, the wish of the dead client served as gateway for bringing them closer in spite of everything, and Taehee out of his own shadow. It is good good character development, and was important to show (us) too, especially after eps 9. Tbh, the episode is more introspective than angsty (outside of like 5-10 minutes in the beginning) and not as cliche as you think it to be. But YMMV, of course. Just give it a try, maybe?

I loved her confession but I must admit his was even better, and it included such a passionate kiss😁. I'm happy…
i have a lot of thoughts regarding the differences of dynamics between dongjoo and Chungha in a relationship/their treatment of taehee, and why i think Taehee's relationship with CH wasn't as happy as people believe. But that is a post for another time 😁 I will just say that her mother saying "she raised Chungha like a princess who always gets everything she wants and doesn't give up/accept a no" EXPLAINS SO MUCH why she kept behaving like an entitled delulu brat till the end. And no by now i REALLY don't give a damn how long they dated. There is no excuse for such behavior, whatsoever.

And in the preview, we have evil rich mom stalking our leads, so alas we are yet to fully rid ourselves of these garbage people. Honestly i cannot fault TH for wanting none of that draining drama/ those energy vampires in his life anymore, who only TAKE TAKE TAKE TAKE without ever giving back. Especially in his current state of mind and situation. Look what he gained with dating Dongjoo instead! Outside of a gf who understands and validates him, also such a cute dad who adores him like a son, and a cool af uncle who is supportive as heck of their relationship. This is such an improvement for his overall quality of life in comparison, and is the support system needed/he lacked before, in order for him being able to (slowly) heal.

where did you watch it 😭
i watch on kisskh (got pulled away so i had to stop for a while) but it has no subs yet.

Wow! ML realized what he did was a mistake in the same episode. I thought they were gonna dwell on that atleast…
This is one of the reasons i love this drama. Conflicts, particularly between the leads are not dragged out but solved head on and in mature fashion, same episode style. It is all too rare in kdrama still, alas. Last time i have seen it done so well was in From Now On Showtime tbh

edit: just read your other replies.. you do you :D having another opinion is great and okay. it gets heavier because…
Still appreciate your reply very much, thank you <3 It does make it sound more appealing to me, because well written/developed stories in kdramas are rather rare these days. I just have to be in the right frame of mind/mood to watch dramas like that. Right now, May I Help You has me in its full choke-hold, character and story-wise, so i will come back to this drama at a later point. Its release on my countries' netflix helps too here, of course :)

Oh i keep editing and updating the first post, so it is not only about the rejection. but my full impressions of eps 10. I would prefer to watch it with subs the first time too, but it takes ages until they are released on alternative sites (is not available for me on prime.) So i like to challenge myself and my listening skills to see what i understand in an unsubbed episode and then watch it once more with subs later on for context. And given i know how the episode ends (see twitter link i posted below) , you don't have to worry about our leads hehehehe

okay the raw version just dropped so i am going in with my mid-beginner to kinda but not really intermediate korean…
- "I don't. I never thought of you this way. It is uncomfortable." Ouch, Taehee brought out his trauma trained/induced cutting people off skills in full force, i see. That was harsh. my man. His eyes belie his words tho.
- He meets with CH's mom in an empty apartment (their prior home maybe) I am amused because the mom really looks like a stereotypical chaebol evil mom from makjang dramas. Didn't get much other than him telling her that he has someone he likes and evil makjang mom cursing him out. He puts down more boundaries, is polite but firm.
- CH does what she does best WAAAAAAITING. Evil mom calls her, tells her she met TH and that he requested to leave him alone and put an end to everything (?), that she also should stop because he has a woman he likes/has moved on. CH does what she does best: DENIAL.
- Aaand everyone is miserable rn. DJ drinks with her besties, TH drinks alone at the han river (?), CH wallows in her usual woe is meeee. He cries, DJ cries. Life is paaaaaaaaain, especially when you have characters that make it needlessly complicated. Ah well. We will be getting there.
- TH looks as if regretting his life choices as he is reminded of DJ's confession at the gate's entrance and CH still returns to the house like a dog you cannot abandon bc it ALWAYS RETURNS and calls him a "Jerk." as she passes him by. Well, for once i can agree with her, lmao. That will all help him to reconsider, after all. DJ breaks down crying in the middle of the street and i laughed as Hae Ahn first not so elegantly tip-toed around "that crying woman" but stopped when seeing it is (drunk) DJ and helps her to get home. TH sits in the dark, fully wrapped in self-loathe and pity of his own making. Trauma/mental illness is a (self-manipulating) bitch. The misery continues as DJ sits down at home in the dark too. Seems to be a thing rn.
- Daddy DJ is worried about her, justifiably so. Talk about a super awkward next day encounter between the leads, with DJ apologizing for confessing because she "does not won't to make it harder/uncomfortable for him. TH looks ready to launch himself into the next hole, never to return. ARE YOU REGRETTING IT YET?
- Vincent, oh captain of our ship. He is rightfully miffed about his nephew self-sabotaging his happiness bc he KNOWS about TH's feelings for DJ. TH goes full conceal don't feel "I am FINE :))))" which no one believes of course.
- DJ's uncle is a whole mood, the first captain of the Donghee ship. He can't believe she got rejected and is looking more dejected about it than even DJ does 🀣
To add injury to insult, DJ's ex is running into TH at the crosswalk and is like "HEY DO YOU REMEMBER ME? You delivered that break up message. Nice job you did" :))) I would have loved to see her face when you said that." Gosh what an asshole. TH (and i) is (are) like one second away from to bludgeon the guy with his stop flag xD
VINCENT YOU UNABASHED SHIPPER. He is playing cupid for the both of them, gleefully so.

Got pulled away, so i am gonna stop writing now and watch the episode just so before i am interrupted again, lol.
