Ikr? It is the first drama i watch with him as ML and i can't believe i have slept on PHJ so far. He does such a good job with this role and his comedic delivery and timing is on point, bless. Atm, Chawoong is one of my fave male character in dramaland bc he is such a frikkin dork and super extra in the best way haha. (Tae Sung from Sh**ting stars is as adorkable tho tbh)

Give it more time and episodes as it is makes no sense to judge a drama on one episode alone, imo. Especially since the first eps is often slow as it always used as introduction to characters and setting. It still has a lot going on even in eps 1, imo. If you still don't like the well-balanced mixture of genres, fast paced plot, humor and quirky characters later on, well, then this drama ain't for you. Or rather, it is your loss😝🤣

Well she is included bc she is important to Ryun, not bc they want to portray the big bad workings of entertainment industry as they would in other eps in more detail. So she is basically just a plot device for the main characters and to wrap up their (back)stories. Preview was quite clear on this, imo, but we will see. Let's hope they wrap up nicely without loose ends etc

That mini story is however a tie in into their larger one and the build up to the solution/final of it. Imo it makes sense, seeing the idol is from Ryun's backstory and used as a catalyst to let Ryun react in this extreme way which is the cataclysm for the last events. Lets hope tho they manage to wrap it up nicely :)

They said that it is time and the last case together so we probs get a scene of CJW waking up with his family hugging him or something.

The idol is the reincarnation of Ryun's best friend, so hurting her as it happened is the catalyst for Ryun to lose it and go on a revenge rampage. Imo it all makes sense and is tied into Joon Gil/Ryun's story, but eps 15 was just the first part that leads into the finale.

미친 basically🤣 He has lost it haha. And his disheveled look adds to it. Knives and snakes for his next show as a surefire way to impress the lad... kill himself ahem. Of course this dork does not know to flirt like a normal human being so he thinks an over the top magic show with high death possibility is the solution and way to go as a last ditch effort to win her heart. God i love him 🤣

Aww thanks :) And the 1-2 yrs makes sense. It is actually the timespan i have thought it would take to get there, as this is normally the amount of time needed for decent language acquisition and understanding. As i am more focused on passive acquisition (aka understanding/following conversations and maybe reading) than active acquisition (speaking, writing since korean has little practical use for me here in europe, except to impress hapless germans with "unusual" language skills, haha) this should be doable. I have a good grasp on languages and how they work quite quickly in general, but i always too lazy to do the actual groundwork to really learn it... until now. The things kdrama does you do, haha.

I actually use apps most for my korean studies (duolingo which is not as bad as ppl make it to be as it taught me the korean sentence structure by doing basically, lingodeer, eggbun and drops for vocab) and youtube (90 days korean and some niche beginner channels with reading practice vids etc) as well as dual subs on my kdramas where i can decently read along with the hangul subs by now while it is spoken (except when tired) The best tip i have heard at the start was actually to never rely on romanization and it really helped my grasp on hangul in general. I find romanization generally too distracting so whenever i have the option i turn it off and focus on hangul only. Medium to large korean texts are still too overwhelming to read tho and give me a slight fight or flight reaction haha. Aaaanyway, your grasp on languages is very impressive, hope to get half as good in time ⌚ regarding korean :D

As for german, it has a hellish grammar i only know how to use because i am a native haha, but of course you are most welcome to try your luck with it ;) I think with your bg of language learning it will be very doable for you. And saaaame. I just loved that little scene of vulvernability of GTS bc it was real and all he wanted instead of work where that scene is no prob as we have seen in eps 8. His nervousness was so cute and relatable, instantly made me like his character even more. I love small character details like that <3

Since i have a viki pass now i might as well get this off my to be watched and to the "completed" list, tho i anticipate a mid-drama drag already as it is typical for romcoms without much plot and focused on the mains only. We will see how it goes and what all the buzz is about. Since so far popular mdl dramas and i did not gel much i don't expect much of it tbh 🙃🤭

Oh nice. I decided to learn korean on a whim, bc with english i am at a lvl since ages where i don't have to pay attention anymore to what is said when watching english content. I simply understand it. (German is my native language, so i am bilingual) And i want to reach the same understanding when watching kdramas but that is far off still, since all but understanding and reading short txts/ most common sentences is still difficult for me. But i see small improvements ever so often, so that keeps me going to reach a good enough lvl to no longer having to rely on subs far down the road. Korean is quite logical to me, except when it is not, but i guess that is the gist of all languages and learning them lol.

Six languages? Wow that is a looooot. Awesome. Can i ask how long it took you to reach your lvl in korean btw? Just curious :)
