GOSH, I really love the convo between Gu Jin Zhao and Ye Xian. It's rare that we get this kind of confrontational…
My dad has a similar personality as myself and I also feel exactly the way she does when she faces Ye Xian. Like seeing my own mirror. It can be scary at times esp. if the image you see in the mirror (the other person) reacts/acts in a certain way 'coz you can also see yourself in them (you know you have the same seeds and if you let them, the seeds can grow into a forest!).
GOSH, I really love the convo between Gu Jin Zhao and Ye Xian. It's rare that we get this kind of confrontational closure between the FL and the 2nd ML, but I fully understand what GJZ means....
Ep21, when ML realise that FL is not rejecting his offer anymore, his eyes brighten and subsequently whenever…
His soft gaze is so tender...I just realized I don't remember the last time I've seen an ML who can look this tenderly towards the FL (I'm still trying to think). I can remember passionate MLs (there are plenty!) and obsessive male characters, but a tender gaze isn't easy to convey.
ep 27 was light and funny...DX is such a nice guy...the reunion with the umbrella was so lovely.FXY and the sister…
I love seeing petty Simu who even kicked and broke her subordinate's stick when the guy kept on poking at her about her relationship with Duanxu and blabbering about how old she was vs the Wang lady whom Duanxu was going to marry. We do sorely need this kind of character to help out Simu realize just how important Duanxu is for her.
THIS! I like that this drama doesn't spoon feed me info from the get go. Instead I can get more layers of info…
Yeah, this drama is for sure to be enjoyed with full focus. Otherwise you'll miss a lot of the things in the conversations and you'll end up confused. I simply love it. Not a drama that you can watch while doing something else.
I feel like a lot of people are consuming this shallowly on a surface level because so many things are already…
THIS! I like that this drama doesn't spoon feed me info from the get go. Instead I can get more layers of info each ep., gaining a better understanding of many things (The Void, the mortal world, the relationship between the two of them).
This drama has so much depth and is not just a surface level plot. It's essentially a healing drama wrapped in…
Yes, I also like the reflective parts of the drama, such as when Simu asked "What is considered home? A place where your lovely memories are or beloved people reside?" (I paraphrased 'coz I don't remember the exact words, but it surely makes me think of the concept of home and what it means for me).
Just like when Duanxu asked his dad about the realities of arranged marriages vs the ones he actually loved. He was just chatting him up logically about how his dad flippantly said, "You can take the woman you love as your concubine", to which he replied, "Then why didn't you take the woman you loved as your concubine?" Followed by silence by dad. YAAASSSSSS!!! Drive that truth and nail it to the floor without having a heated argument. I felt so satisfied watching that scene.
This is not a personal slander but it is baffling how some viewers cannot understand a few simple things about…
Agree with all your points.
I love how coherent and cohesive the drama has been so far, also in terms of how they care about each other but they know the gap between the two of them (thus Duanxu also left The Void after the very solid rejection). The rejection was also verbally explained in a very decent manner IMO. They have a real talk about why it's hard for her to want to start a relationship with a mere mortal (even giving proof) and I actually like the fact that Duanxu cries, but doesn't try to cling to her. I also get why she told him to cry, but not in front of her.
Also, in the mortal world, Simu is on vacay mode, but when in The Void, she's the ruler, so she has A LOT of responsibilities (duties, problems) to handle. So she's more carefree in the beginning.
She gets to show a lot more of her acting chops in this drama and I absolutely LOVE it!
Yeah, also in the mortal realm she's basically on vacay mode he he...I love the fact Dilraba can be both 100% elegant but she can also be SO cute (the kind of cuteness that doesn't make me cringe!). Usually people tend to be on one of the either side being stronger: whether more elegant or more on the cute side. But she can be both and be convincing in both.
