So far it feels like watching a drama at 1.5x speed ha ha...but I enjoy it 'coz things move very fast, explanations are given succinctly (no need to talk in roundabout ways), days' worth of journey is travelled in just a few minutes of screen time, court assembly meetings are kept very short and succinct. No need for a lot of wasteful moments ha ha ha ha ha...

I've been wondering about this. Interesting. I actually find it refreshing, too. With all the hair ornaments etc., it feels freeing that they don't have to wear earrings (esp. longer, heavier ones).

I love getting glimpses of how they can be cheeky/playful with each other. Shows how comfy they are.

My dad has a similar personality as myself and I also feel exactly the way she does when she faces Ye Xian. Like seeing my own mirror. It can be scary at times esp. if the image you see in the mirror (the other person) reacts/acts in a certain way 'coz you can also see yourself in them (you know you have the same seeds and if you let them, the seeds can grow into a forest!).

GOSH, I really love the convo between Gu Jin Zhao and Ye Xian. It's rare that we get this kind of confrontational closure between the FL and the 2nd ML, but I fully understand what GJZ means....

His soft gaze is so tender...I just realized I don't remember the last time I've seen an ML who can look this tenderly towards the FL (I'm still trying to think). I can remember passionate MLs (there are plenty!) and obsessive male characters, but a tender gaze isn't easy to convey.

I love seeing petty Simu who even kicked and broke her subordinate's stick when the guy kept on poking at her about her relationship with Duanxu and blabbering about how old she was vs the Wang lady whom Duanxu was going to marry. We do sorely need this kind of character to help out Simu realize just how important Duanxu is for her.
