I'm in TROUBLE. Now every drama I watch after this, I subconsciously compare it with this one...not just in terms of pacing, but also the chemistry between the cast and how I LOVE so many side characters in this drama. ACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK...it also makes me rethink how I rate other dramas. Oh boyyyy...

Hi, peeps! I had a long shift so just got back home. Thanks for all the comments and explanations. Now I get it better, also the difference between the term used in Kdrama and Cdrama. Younger audience means mostly those in their 20s, I assume?

Can someone explain to me why Avenue X called this "idol fantasy drama"? I tried googling the meaning, but I don't think any of the 4 main leads are idols hmmmm...in the older threads, someone said this isn't a drama filled with stars that attract traffic (I assume that's what an idol drama is supposed to do).

If I remember correctly, only CMC uses a voice actor amongst the 4 leads. So yes, it's He Xuanlin's own voice also Landy Li's and CXX's own voice.

I was thinking of that, too, but wasn't so sure. In the heavenly realm there's a school to teach spells etc., I guess that's how mortals can also cultivate to become immortals?

About the question of immortals marrying mortals. I think it's because in the beginning, the idea is that it's political marriage. Plus, Shaodian Youqin is supposed to die after sealing off Guixu, so it's like only a marriage in name. But at least for Qingkui, since a young age, she has had to learn everything about the heavenly realm, the customs and rules etc. etc. etc. so at the very least she'll be able to follow everything perfectly in the heavenly realm, unlike Yetan who has only been interested in the void realm and knowing more about the void realm.

No, they actually work well together as you can see later esp. after the mortal realm arc. In the beginning the dynamics are different because he's had to repress all his feelings for his role as the Empyrean.

That's his real voice. I was surprised at first, too, but I got used to it after a few episodes. It actually makes sense to use his own voice because he has to play 3 other characters later in the mortal realm and he uses different rhythm for these 3 characters as well as tone and the way they speak is also different (esp. the first shard - he has to really think about how to express himself differently). It wouldn't be as good if another voice actor does the dubbing for these different characters.

In terms of power, he may not be as strong as Dongfang QingCang, but he sets the bar for one of the healthiest male leads ever (in terms of allowing the girl he likes to be just who she is, the way he supports her and encourages her, the way he would stand up for her against the parents/the world etc. etc. etc.).

There are a few funny jealous scenes between CF and Wudai ha ha ha...but it doesn't last long because Qingkui is straightforward about who she likes.

There is someone else who likes Yetan and someone else who likes Qingkui, but they are both never annoying and the girls tell them from the beginning that they don't like them in a romantic way.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH...I actually thought she tried to soften the blow, though, by saying that he's strong etc. etc. so he'll have many women wanting to be with him he he he...but yeah, that's probably one of the reasons there's a lot of Wudai's fans. The way he cried his eyes out right there and then. Such a softie!

Forgot to add: YES, it was great that we watched TSL ongoing without any break as they gave the episodes daily he he he he...

Ah, interesting Nicole and Cdramas4life. I actually dropped Ten Miles of Peach Blossom. I just couldn't sync with the main lead (dunno why). I had too strong 2nd male lead syndrome in that drama that I couldn't force myself to continue ha ha ha ha...I just finished Fairy and Devil (but I saw it after this one and I couldn't help comparing it with this ha ha ha...). Love and Redemption + Immortal Samsara are kinda draggy in parts (though I LOVE Cheng Yi's facial expressions), so I skip a lot of episodes. I finished Eternal Love of Dream after skipping the mortal realm first (then coming back to it later). I finished Ashes of Love, but I wasn't as hooked as TSL.

The only thing I'm glad of is that they keep uploading cute videos of TSL leads he he he he...the one I saw today on youtube was also cute.
