The problem is everyone around him cannot control his emotions or else they will also die.. He needs someone that…
Yes, that's one of his biggest problems. He's got nobody to knock some sense into his head over the years. He's had to survive on his own (except for his bodyguard that shifu had picked for him, but the bodyguard couldn't be the one to teach him things). Aigooooo...
Hmmmm...I think it'd be less logical if LTG changes so quickly, considering the maaannnyy years he's been obsessed with his shifu even after he thought she was dead (just look at his secret collection in the secret room). I mean, he even said at one point to his maid about taking the fake shifu (fake princess) and teaching her kungfu. If the obsession is like a deep-rooted tree, they've tried their best in chopping off the branches and the tree trunk and some of the roots, but if you have done some gardening, you'll know how difficult it is to clear out all the roots (esp. if the roots have gone deep and spread wide). Again sometimes I just think of LTG as a representation of a toxic, delulu fan.
If I turn the story around and make the king of wu the real center of the story, then it actually makes sense…
I agree regarding the paranoia/suspicion since the 2nd prince has also been trying to get into throne and life in the palace is cutthroat. Same as you, I also enjoy the two different paths/trajectories of the king vs Ying.
The king spends his time mostly in luxury, surrounded by higher-ups (ministers/eunuchs who probably have their own agenda) whereas Ying has been outdoors with the people/soldiers/Liudao Hall people and she has witnessed firsthand how it's like to be with the people (to stay in harsher surroundings). Ying has made deeper, personal bond with these people who care more about the people (who have also taught her A LOT of eye-opening things and boosted up her confidence level).
I still have faith in the screenwriter, since we're already a little more than halfway done (where many Cdramas fail to keep the pace/plot/fail to sustain the FLs from becoming weak) and it's still so good he he...but I'll keep my fingers crossed with you he he he...
LTG character is like the representation of the super toxic fans. "You're mine so you can't be happy with anyone…
He he he he...with his abandonment issues from the past (after not having a close relationship with his own mother, then having lost his own mother AND his beloved master), it's hard for me to dislike his character.
The problem is his max. level of deluluness he he..."Master saved me, so I MUST be the MOST important person for her." Aiyooohhhhh...mannnnn!!!!! But with no reliable comrades like what Ning has over the years, it's hard to teach him the right ways of life/the right ways to treat a woman.
"rich CEO buying the girl clothes/gifts" made me go BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA...also her additional comment on how tiring it was for female to have to change clothes (act like a doll) in front of the man in this kind of trope. It's SO clear what the screenwriter wants to say (her own opinion) regarding this trope HAHAHAHAHAH...
I love, love, love how RR and NYZ communicate.🥰
And when they fight side-by-side...MAAAAAAAAANNNNN...best team ever! Not just in fighting side-by-side, but also in communicating with each other. Their tacit understanding between each other, too, is rare (how Ning knew where to wait for her on the bridge without even having to ask her).
