Can someone tell me if there's some kind of expectation/pressure for Chinese actors/actresses to sing? It seems that esp. the main leads (I could be wrong) would be in some kind of show (on stage/on TV where there are live audience) singing the OST or was it just purely due to the choices of the actresses/actors themselves?

Yes, yes, yes...and also lovable side characters that I can easily ship, too (even when they have even less screen time). Many times over in other dramas, I just want to ffwd or skip some side characters (either because they're annoying, not memorable/important, not too awesome chemistry, boring, I can't connect with them, etc.).
