Well done! Another "blossoming" review. ;) I think Chinese title creators need to have a list of naugthy words. Blossom, Romance, Destiny, should be at the top of that list. 😆

It is unsurprising that a relatively new talent is willing to ask the hard questions. Once you are part of the establishment, you learn to play the game so that scripts and money keeps coming. Maybe he will stay true. Time will tell. ;)

Yes, I think the system caught productions off guard when first implemented. They just literally cut a show in half but it doesn't make much sense when you have a gap for months. I hope they learn their lesson and plan it properly from now on. ;)

They had to cut it in 2 because of "new" official rules. Each season can't be longer than 40 eps and there must be a 6 months gap between two seasons. The size of dramas were getting out of hand. ;)

I was hoping the same would happen here. If schadenfreude is your thing then it would be 10/10. ;)

True. There are exceptions like Dr. Romantic series. ;) That's because most Asian dramas are designed to be one and done.

HPL2 wasn't as good as HPL1 but at least it was designed to be a S2. This is not. :(

They chopped a long series into 2 and called it S1&2. There was little fan service nor preamble. They dropped us into a dumpster fire and say "enjoy!". :p

Ha ha! Being a gamer myself, I like the game related scenes, especially the cliché ones that are in many games and they turn the table on them. Very meta. :)
The flip side it when some show uses game as a cheap device and it looks fake and pointless then I'd mark them down horribly. ;)
