Yep. There's a LOT of attention to detail in this drama.
By far my favorite drama of the year and possibly of all time.

The 2FL is far from pushy and is rarely involved. She hasn't even done anything to hurt the FL and ML's relationship.
And honestly, I like her character. Very cheerful and adorable and not at all sinister (so far, at least). She is what a 2FL should be imo.

We all know what comes after a "feel good" episode...

If my boss had a tragic backstory like the ML's, I'd sympathize and understand.
And if he was as hot as the ML, I'd fall for him.
If having the ability to sympathize and sense when she likes someone makes the FL an "idiot", then count me in 😩

The romance started at episode 2 for me personally. I don't think there needs to be a formal "I love you" declaration or hugs/kisses for there to be "actual romance". It would also be out of character if Li Xun didn't take many weeks or even months to get to that stage, so I'm thankful the directors didn't put in a bunch of fanservice just to milk the audience.
But the latest episode is when the ML somewhat formally declares his love.

Computer Science is a subject that can be (and should be) self-taught. You're not actually learning much in school, so # of classes taken is not a good indicator of knowledge in this field.
It's not that hard to believe the top students of a top university would work hard enough to be this capable. And it's really just Li Xun making things for companies. Anything Gao Jian Hong has done so far, while still impressive for a freshman, is too crappy to be used in the real world as Li Xun has pointed out.

I know, LX isn't actually a jerk. He just sees the world differently from other people because of his unfortunate past. I just made that comment to mess with Shubham :D

There's no reason to hate on homosexuality. It's just something people are born with. A world of love is better than a world of hate.

Speaking from experience:
The first programming class was very fun.
The second programming class had me pulling all-nighters trying to fix bugs. I gave up on programming after that because sitting on a computer all day looking at code is not very enjoyable to me. I like interacting with other people and moving around.

I remember that part!
After the FL rejects giving him her phone number, he says "真服了你" in a very friendly and gentle tone. It's kind of lost in translation, but it means "I really admit defeat to & admire you". His facial expressions and his voice made him look charming there for a few seconds. I had to remind myself I'm supposed to hate him. Truly a villain who knows how to hide his real face.

I don't think either of the main leads come from an idol background.
Its success is just due to it being a really good drama. I'm extremely picky, but I can't find anything meaningful to complain about for this drama.

Would you all grab your pitchforks if I said FZJ was kind of cute? 😳Maybe not when standing next to LX, but still looks good enough to make me wish he wasn't a scumbag.

I think Youku stopped showing view count for dramas
They now use the "heat index" to measure a drama's popularity, and it hit 10,000 which is as high as it gets.

How would you define a a 2FL/2ML?
If it's someone who competes for the love of the 1st lead, then no.
There are many girls (1 of which is even a supporting character) who falls for the ML, but he pays them all dust except for the FL.
There's a guy who loves the FL, but he's not annoying and rarely appears. I think the FML sees him more as a brother.

Immortal Samsara was led by Cheng Yi and Yang Zi. They have a huge international fanbase due to success of "Love and Redemption" and "Ashes of Love".

Not saying they didn't perform well in Immoral Samsara, but it's really just the acting and story that's carrying Lighter & Princess.
