Title Someday or One Day Spoiler
They are talking about Lunar New Year, which was on 02/16/1999. So her death happened or will happen in a few…
Hmm... But the uncle said in 2019 that CYR was murdered, is she killed herself, she was not murdered then, and there was one flashback with MJJ holding like a glass shard over CYR dead body?!? I'm also pretty sure he didn't do it, but if she really did commit suicide by jumping from the building, why was he convicted of murder... Ugh... I hope they don't go like Dark with alternative universes alongside the alternative timelines...

Thanks for your input, was really interesting to read. Since I understood that you empathize a lot with the character of Grey, I do have one last question. Would you feel the same about Grey if he was a fat, moustached plumber, and not a fit, ultra-rich, bad boy-you-need-to-fix?

The preview for the next episode left me confused. So Chun Yu Ruh will commit suicide? Then Mo Jun Jie will not go for prison for murder and he will not kill himself? Wasn't she supposed to die at the end of 1999? They were celebrating new year, so this was beginning of 1999, I think? Ugh... I need a timeline :p

For full disclosure, i started reading the book, and had to stop in disgust after 40-50 pages, not because of the subject matter, but because the level of prose was at a disturbed teenager fantasy who is still in high school. You can find fan fiction on wattpad better written than that book and I strongly believe life is too short to read badly written books. Coincidentally, i was invited to see the first movie at the cinema, and to my surprise, I kinda liked it. I don't remember this "happy ending" you talk about, as far as I remember he ditched her at the end because she did not want to do BDSM anymore and then she was so desperate to get him back because she missed the helicopter or something. Does this happy ending happen in the third movie? So my opinion is mostly based on the movie and so far you did not convince me that there was so much "character growth", it was mostly BDSM, he does some expensive gesture for her, she lusts after him, the end. And please, let's leave the obvious facts from the discussion. People have different sexual fantasies? Really? Tell me more...

It's great news that viki will have it, we won't have to wait eternity for subtitles, even if it's vip, it will…
I'm actually not sure what makes an asian drama successful? i thought the History series is/was very successful, but CHOCO Media is always struggling for money, TharnType seemed successful both domestically and internationly (tons of fanmeets in Thailand and trending worldwide on twitter) but the author MAME was still millions of thai baht in debt. Ossan's love was apparently successful, at least the movie, domestically, but the show is only available on illegal streaming sites, the bluray is crazy expensive (do the Japanese really pay 160 euros for 8 episodes?!?) without even having English subtitles. So yeah, what makes a show successful is a mystery to me :)

I guess because there aren't so many Asian fans on MDL as western ones? They probably have their own platforms and don't care to comment here in English.

@Merlina Honestly, I think your input is the one that is out of place. Social media has "social" in it for a reason,…
Hear, Hear! I can't understand how many people on MDL are so into their black or white thinking, you must either hate something and criticize it non-stop or love it and then you make fan accounts on twitter to retweet all the fan service. Because in the game of fans, you win or you die, there is no middle ground.

It's great news that viki will have it, we won't have to wait eternity for subtitles, even if it's vip, it will be eventually free (with ads). I just can't understand the length, why only 12 minutes?!? They could've then just release this as a movie, it's basically the same length...

The more episodes I see, the more I'm reminded of an excellent japanese game called Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, the show follows many concepts from this game, especially the part of time jumping and changing the timeline a tiny bit each time... I think this scriptwriter's "dream" probably came to him after playing on his Nintendo 3DS :P

think they might be highlighting how far taiwan has come in accepting gay people. because they legalised gay married…
My problem with the gay plot is that he was gay for 4 minutes, he attempts suicide and that's the last we hear from it... I'm not commenting if it is unrealistic or not, just that it makes no sense to put it as a plot point advocating "change of views in the future" for 4 minutes in a one hour, 15 minutes episode. Just seems tacky and gaysploitation by the writers...

But that means WGS did not kill himself in 2010, because as HYX can not go back after 1999, when CYR was murdered, the same rules should apply to LZW.

Wait, now I'm confused... If WGS killed himself at that moment at the beach, then who is the kid in pink pants that goes back to LZW hometown and finds out from CYR's uncle that his best friend commited suicide? Because the beach incident was in 2008, but he takes the train in 2010, I think?

I fail to see how someone who is gay killing himself in the past is a good story plot that society's view on gay people has changed today. Yes, i know about the gay marriage and also the last part where he says "i hope there will be a future where peoples opinion changes", but all we saw is him being rejected and commiting suicide, how about a different timeline for him as well where he is happy?

I feel the BL aspect at the beginning of episode 8 was completely unnecessary. What was the point of having it? Only for the real Wang Quang Sheng to kill himself because the boy he liked didn't like him back? I hope we evolved past this concept that gay people have to die in Chinese dramas :/ so far my only criticism of this drama.

I think a lot of carlosb criticism for TharnType is valid, and especially how toxic their fandom has become, no one can say anything bad about it without being called names. But i guess, what can you expect, when it's mostly teenage girls... But truth be told, the most popular book for years was 50 shades of gray, which i would be terribly offended by if i were a woman. The message it sent was that it's ok if the man beats you as long as he is rich and can fly you around with his helicopter... So i'm not surprised that people enjoy the non-consensual stuff in Tharntype. On the other hand, UWMA is boringly consensual, to the point when even a touch is followed by four "P'Dean"'s :P loosen up Pharm :p
