I feel completely opposite, the plot sounds really cringy (i'm suddenly in a BL novel, like really?!?), and the acting was not that convincing, hopefully i'm proven wrong when it actually starts airing.

I feel like there are too many couples in this show, and there are only 20 episodes, 10 minutes each?!? I have a feeling it will be a mess... still, hopefully it appears on Viki.

Because it is basically fan fiction, whether it's terrible or not is debatable, I like it personally, but the writing is not winning any awards any time soon.

Considering it's only ten episodes, I think, it's not a huge time investment, and you can drop it if you are really hating it :)

Depends what you consider a good drama? It's a simple high school love story with a sad end. Are you into that kind of setting? The production value is high, and the acting is excellent. There is no grand plot or mystery, it's just teenagers falling in love.

Since it's from Japan, it won't be availabe anywhere except illegal asian streaming website and it will take months or up to a year for someone to translate it, they could really learn a thing or twenty from Thailand and Taiwan how they make their shows available also to international fans.

Apparently Japan liked it so much they are releasing a special DVD set for Trapped. It looks really pretty, though probably knowing Japan, you need to sell a kidney to be able to afford it (no price has been revealed yet).

In Taiwan they showed 20 episodes with length 22 minutes, on Viki and the DVD they made 10 episodes with 45 minutes length, it's the same thing, it's just two episodes put together.

If anyone is interested the DVD comes out on the 17.01, with the ten episodes and 4 calender postcards. No behind the scene footage though, but with english subtitles.

There is a happy ending for everyone. The plot is rather boring, but it has some excellent cinematography.

I thought filming and voice recording the entire Type Lhong interaction was to use it later as evidence against him. But nope! all that was dropped the moment Tharn appeared with his "it's all my fault" speech. Truly confusing moment.

Lhong picked up a huge stone to bash Type's head and everyone was like "ok, you just go away now", no need to call the police or anything. If I were Type I would be scared he is out there somewhere, lurking in the shadows, waiting for revenge.

I think it would be interesting if they continue to explore the same themes in different work environments. I thought the aviation company was a great choice, maybe in the next season a hospital could be interesting :)

The ending was...okeyish, i guess. The payoff seemed a bit too shalow for Lhong, he just dropped out of school and the band and that's it?!? Even Tharn only punched him once. I don't know if it's just me, but if i found out my best friend was plotting to ruin all my relationships i would've had a much bigger reaction. Tharn was like, oh noes! It's all my fault! *criesinthai*. And he didn't even want to see Tar again before he moved to France to apologize in person, seemed a bit of a cowardly move. Isn't it weird that Type's parents were credited in the intro, even though they had like one scene? All in all, i would say it was a solid 8.5 show.

Haha it really is a wangxian edit, they can slap a title on youtube "fan made video of their best scenes", and no one would know that this is a special edition :P

It's a great analysis, but a couple of points remain unclear to me. You mention "non-consensual rape" however we don't see that in TharnType at all. There is some non-consensual kissing in the first episode, but the shower scene was met with only a small resistance from Type in the beginning and then he completely got into it. Type was the one who dreamed about Tharn and he was the one who initiated the friends with benefits situation, which is not a "relationship". Type's homopohobia was understandable at first, but perplexing in later episodes when his best friend came out to him and he said nothing even though he had a boyfriend at this point.

I'm not sure how this special edition is intended to be less confusing for international audience?!? I find the original a lot less confusing, the plot in this special edition keeps jumping from one thing to the next, it's like they expect their audience to have attention deficit disorder, each plot point is given 10 minutes at most, and some things like the Yin iron are barely explained. I'm rewatching because it's such a pretty show, but if this was my first exposure i would be dropping this.

I'm not defending her at all. Was it unethical to copy someone else's work and present it as your own? Yes! Should we organize now a witch-hunt just because some people did not like the ending? No! Maybe it's a cultural difference, in far east asia I read that people when they perceive that someone is bringing shame to something they expect an apology (same with Trapped), i find it ridiculous, as at the end of the day this was someones artistic vision, it does not have to comply with anyones expectations. Not to mentioned, this script was approved by the director, producers, etc... So the writer is not the only person to blame. And I watched through viki.com which, as far as I know, is the official channel supported by CHOCO Media, not to mention I payed a lot more to import the Trapped DVD from Taiwan. I'm not really sure what are you trying to say with this? That the opinion of international fans shouldn't matter?

With the mountain of debt she got herself into by fundung season 1 I really doubt she is going to rush into more debt to produce season 2. At this point the show needs to turn a profit for a second season to be a viable option. Which is quite astonishing it didn't considering the trending wordwide, tons of fanmeetings, millions of views. To be honest, she also came into it a bit unprepared, she didn't even manage to translate her novel in english in time to get some extra cash from this sudden burst of popularity. Probably she did not anticipate the interest.

I got your point loud and clear, and I think this outrage with the plagiarism is a bit too much. Yeah, she did copy certain plot points from chapter 13, but the original author has no case for actual plagiarism, as the rest of the manga's story is different. Sabotage Taiwan's reputation? Really? I think Taiwan's reputation is safe and will survive a niche BL show :)) Or another option is that sensible Taiwanese fans go to the streets and demand the writer's head to be cut off, Marie Antoinette style. There must be a square in Taipei big enough for a guillotine? Will that satisfy the sensible fans? Maybe they can make it into a special, Make our days count: Loosing my head-the real ending :p
