Finally someone agree with me, Im not even watching, because they're only showing miji and her story, all story…
I've only watched 3 episodes but I'd like to find out more about the sexual assault or whatever her Boss did to her and why she dropped the complaint. Maybe because of Hosu, I suppose.
They clearly showed ANSP and the govt as evil and power-hungry, maybe you saw a wrong show by mistake
What I am saying was said by Koreans who lived through that era. There were many protests about the show. I'll stick with what people who have more knowledge than I about how they felt.
Just finished the show this morning and it absolutely wrecked me. This is a drama that provides food for the soul. I shed a lot of tears but the characters had plenty of good moments as well.
The strength of Ae-Sun to get to the age of 70 after losing so many people in her life and still being a kind, loving person, is just inspirational.
I'm loving this drama but why is IU playing a double role? It sort of wrecks the ageing of O-Ae-Sun, imo. Because IU is playing her and her daughter, we go forward 10 yrs and we get to 2 new actors ass the leads but the same actors besides them. Park Hae Joon looks around the same age as his mother!! The 2 leads changed way too much from the late 70's to 1987. It was quite jarring.
Probably one of the most depressing shows I have seen in quite awhile. Yes, it's slow but that's just the way it is to think about life from various points of view. Young , old, married single...etc.
Cannot binge-watch this show if you value your sanity. I am on Episode 5 and the Hospital scene has made me take a break after crying for quite a bit.
This a deep cut of a show. There aren't really any breaks for levity. The only character I don't like is the Mother. Her husband annoys me a bit but it's hard to blame him.
What an awful story that made little to no sense. We had a love triangle, a guy named Kevin who couldn't communicate with his own wife, rules of the world that was built that were constantly changed and/or broken. Watched 14 episodes by skipping a lot of 2nd FL and her 2 guy s story. I don't even care how it ended. Worst drama I've seen in quite awhile.
When I looked into the History behind the events surrounding this drama, I can now understand why there was so much uproar about this show, it makes the ANSP agents who were brutal look sympathetic. This is just an awful drama and I feel for the Korean survivors of the the 1987 uprising for Democracy and their families that this crap was allowed to air.

This is a show about the Human Condition..
