At this point, any and every theory is valid and worth thinking about. They are definitely giving us clues in…
Yeah that’s definitely true. I’m getting a bit frustrated though at this point especially after today’s episode giving us so little to go on. I think this show really needs to be binged but we’re already here.

Doing a rewatch already just because — but does anyone else think they made Black a bit too bad ass. Like, the scene in ep. 14 where he takes on two huge swat guys. Like, who ever thought White was him for a second?! Lol.

Also, the van scene is killing me as much as the first time 😭😭 Send help. This show had no right to do this to me — I just want cute boys to kiss each other. I’ll be over here sobbing in a puddle if anyone needs me.

Ok so I have a theory about Amber. It’s kind of a mix of other theories but it’s the only thing that makes any sense to me with the current information. I can’t wait to see if I’m right!

So, I’m thinking that Amber is a “step in” or “walk in” — basically spirit possession in a not The Exorcist kind of way. I’m not sure how this aligns culturally. But my guess is that either Wen Wen’s spirit is entirely inhabiting Amber or she shared her memory and life experiences with Amber during a near death experience. Amber mentioned having something traumatic happen to him in the UK and Le said that they’ve never heard from Wen Wen at all which seems odd. They may have been involved in a shared accident in which Wen Wen died and Amber walked away with a mission to find her long lost love (didn’t the Granny mention something like this to Amber?) What’s more, I think that Le and Wen Wen (and later Amber) are reincarnations of the lovers from the legend. Based on Le mentioning that fate is a fragile thing, it seems like maybe whatever happened to Wen Wen got in the way of reuniting the lovers so Rong’s reincarnation was passed to Amber. There’s already been discussion of what Rong’s gender was, so that could be foreshadowing something like this.

This is obviously just a theory but I kind of hope this is the case because I think it fits! 🙃 Oh and in the first episode / opening scene during the voiceover someone says “I really don’t want to disappoint her.” That could refer to a lot of things but still…

What do you guys think? I can’t wait to (hopefully) learn more tomorrow. I do agree with some other comments that the momentum has been stalled by the side story for the last two episodes.

Is it just me or do Taiwanese BL have a signature style of film? I can’t put my finger on it what it is exactly…
This is so true! I’m sure there are many reasons. But one thing I recognize is that filming locations in Taipei are the same for many of these!

Everyone says that this reminds them of the BeLoved in House series but this is definitely giving me We Best Love…
It’s styled very similar to Be Loved but the theme seems to be more like We Best Love for sure. I’m excited!

I really wish they'd put more effort into this. I like the two leads, but the story is pretty weak and the production…
Agreed! I thought this premise was so promising. It’s a huge let down. Especially bc the leads are quite cute and with some better writing and directing, they could have done something really fun. But most of this is beyond cringe.

Maybe it’s because we don’t get a lot of time spent on them or their relationship (which is really unfortunate) I felt like they were barely recognizable as the characters from the series.

I appreciated this movie but would really like to have seen more of this relationship since we basically only saw the very early stage in the series. This shift to them as adults didn’t quite convince me since there was no real development of the relationship. And then even after leaving him and being gone for presumably something like 8 years Shun forgives Nagisa way too quickly to be believable. They are suddenly a deeply committed couple?

The acting is great in this and there was a lot to like about the elements they included especially about how same sex couples are viewed by society. It was also beautifully shot. And Sora was a delight! It was just lacking some depth when it came to the central relationship that the audience is meant to buy into.

Rewatching this series for probably at least the 10th time because it just brings me so much joy ‼️
On Cherry Blossoms after Winter Apr 14, 2022
Oof I’m fairly disappointed with that ending. This show was insanely cute and then this episode felt so flat! I love that Haebom took initiative and stood up for their relationship — I think that was what needed to happen and that scene was quite sweet. Although the mom doing a complete 180 in the span of 5 minutes is kind of crazy. They really didn’t have that much to wrap up but it all still felt kind of rushed.

Is it just me or did it feel like their chemistry really fizzled out. Not even a final kiss? The last scene even felt forced to me. Really curious if my expectations were too high or if others felt this way?

Okay, I loved this! Everything about it was amazing and once I started watching I couldn't stop, so I finished…

You’re not alone with thinking he died. I def though it for a minute there. He was so despondent in the scenes leading up to this I thought maybe he had hurt himself (at the beach or something) and I was about to lose my goddamn mind. I’d like to thank everyone involved in this production for NOT doing that to us.

and this is why short episodes will never be an excuse for poor quality! amazing drama and plot packed into one…
Agreed! That excuse is so tired. There is so much you can do with limited time as evidenced here!

I can’t think of another series that made me feel this way. Just beautiful — though I was left ever so slightly unsatisfied with the ending. I thought their reconciliation was wonderfully real and touching but the final scenes lacked something for me. I think it was partly because so much of the narrative was framed around film I really wanted some closure on the paths they were going to take.

Also, as film nerd this actually comes close to contending with Theory of Love for me!

Overall, I loved it and it made me cry during the mother-son confrontation scene which is rare for me with a bl series.. I can really relate to that feeling of loving a toxic parent. I think the actor successfully displayed the range of mixed emotions Si Won is feeling between the revelation of what Da Un did and then being attacked by his mother. It felt very authentic.

I see a couple people already mentioned this but yeah, if you “have” to have read the book to understand what’s going on that means the series has been poorly adapted.

This episode was somewhat better and you can really see their chemistry. That kiss makes up for a lot. But this show is SO frustrating with how poorly it’s written. Nothing happened in the first 5 or 6 episodes not even any really development of their relationship and then you introduce more conflict with the girlfriend? Now they have one episode to deal with the father and the girlfriend?? Ugh. Infuriating. These actors deserve better and this interesting premise deserved so much better writing and directing. So sad.

Maybe. But that still makes him look pretty bad that it’s taking him this long to realize the severity of the situation. At this point he’s seen A LOT to confirm that his own life as well as Kinn’s are in serious danger. It comes off not only as cocky and reckless but also just incompetent. And I get that this is his character, but it doesn’t really endear him to me. His other moments of cocky shenanigans I can totally get behind! I think this sequence was just poorly written.

Yeah that made no sense at all. When he started drinking I thought he’d have a high tolerance and still end up kicking some ass but he’s falling down drunk? Why?

Not to mention it makes Porsche look like a complete dumbass. I get that he’s impulsive and “playful” but he has already seen the actual mortal danger that Kinn is in. It’s not like he has any reason to underestimate that danger. So what kind of choice was it to actually get drunk?

This scene could have been written to make sense and still have a similar impact. Porsche is playfully having some champagne and maybe is distracted but jumps into action when he realizes what’s going on. Not drunk. And he could still be reprimanded for being irresponsible without it looking like this illogical nonsense.
