Watching Scarlet Heart now and something that has struck me is that I really really hope they keep the characters true to the original because if they do I will be excited to see how Ji Soo plays the 14th prince. I love Ji Soo but his characters so far have all been quite different from 14th Prince and I really hope they keep the character the same so we can see Ji Soo break out and play a new kind of character! Fingers crossed!
If only the big bad (Lee In Jwa) were as AWESOME as Cutter this would be a much better drama! Just more evidence that everything is made better by the addition of Kim Sung Oh!
Ok, so the plot has had some serious flaws for the first half, so much so that I don't know if I would have even called what this show had a plot. I've stuck with it because the directing and acting have been really good. But starting with episode 11 this show has (maybe) solidified it's plot and might be on to something. Please, show, keep on this path. You finally make sense and I am really enjoying it!
OMG! In a dramaland filled with annoying female leads, I am so in love with this one after the first episode. She is absolutely AWESOME!!!! And I've never seen the actress before but I love her to death! Keep it up, show. I needed a fluffy romcom in my life!
I've been super skeptical about this one. The premise just sounded too odd. But, oh man, the first episode was really good! Incredible directing and cinematography. Great music, acting, riveting bad guy. Just really good stuff all around. This is one you have to watch because the description is crap and in no way does it justice.
I haven't felt this torn about a sageuk since Sword and Flower. This drama is absolutely beautiful to look at. The directing and cinematography are adroitly handled. The acting is mostly quite good. But, dang, the plot. Whew... is there a plot? What a mess.
this drama has a lot of mistakes and is very cheesy and sometimes cringe worthy lol, plot is confusing BUT i still…
My thoughts too. Pretty drama with pretty people acting very well. But the plot has really gone down hill since the earthquake portion ended. And downhill at lightning speed!
When did Yeo Jin Goo's voice get that low? His age still freaks me out, but damn is that a nice voice. Either…
I know right?! His voice. OMG! I melted. I have a list of sexiest Kdrama actor voices and I just had to add him to it - and high on the list. All grown up and so very sexy!
Now that JGS and YJG are on the scene, this has gotten better. The directing is really top notch and my favorite part. My only complaint is that the plot is frustrating and I think it is because Yi In Jwa is such a cipher. I know he hates the king and wants to get revenge, but the way he is going about is probably the most absurd and nonsensical revenge in the history of Kdramas. And I've seen some pretty messed up revenge plots. It's almost as if he has no plan at all and is really just a completely insane guy taking the piss out of everyone around him. I find it distracting how ridiculous it all is. But I still do like the two lead males and the lead female character so we'll see how it goes.
This is why Park Hye Ryun is the best writer in Kdramaland right now. PERIOD. What a flawless little drama. I laughed. I cried. I wish there was more, but at the same time it ended so perfectly I guess it really is for the best.
I am really enjoying this as I thought I would. But could someone, please, for the love of all that is holy, tell me why people in Kdramas do not properly back up important pieces of evidence?! If I had a video that was evidence of a crime the first second I had it I would email using every email address I had. I would email it to my friends and family and myself. And then back it up to Google Drive, Dropbox and any other online file sharer I could sign up for. I would make so darn many copies of that thing in the Cloud, no way they could ever get rid of them all in just one night. Stupid. So dang stupid it makes my brain hurt.
I started watching this and got somewhat bored in the middle (about ep 5-ish) but it's coming back stronger than…
Same here. At first I liked it a lot, then it got really boring. But I picked it back up and eps 11 and 12 were batcrap crazy!!!!! So now I'm back on board, but I think I'm watching a makjang.
How is it that Bok Soon is married and still is a maid in the palace ? As I know palace maids are "lady in…
I could be wrong, but I think it was because she was not a lady in waiting or palace maid as we are used to seeing them; rather she was a musuri or a palace slave. A very lowly type of maid used for the menial work who could leave the palace and have her own life but was not considered one of the king's women. That's why the king taking her as his woman would have been particularly scandalous and she would have been looked down on a lot because most of the proper palace maids were women from noble houses. But I guess there had to be palace slaves to do the really dirty stuff.
That said, the whole set up for this show has been so ridiculous it has taken me out of it. So you are right to question it. I really hope once the backstory is over with that this gets better. I can handle a bit of ridiculous but the beginning has just been too over the top even for me.
OMG, why so short?!!!!! In a Kdrama world where so many of the youth dramas lately have left me deflated, this is just pure awesome! I cannot believe there's only one more episode. WAAAAAAAAAAAAA :'(
Damn Oh Yeon Seo is slaying this role, love her! I'm surprised that I'm saying this but Rain is good here.
Ever seen Sang Doo, Let's Go to School? It's his best work I think. He can be a bit up and down, but mostly because he often doesn't pick particularly good projects or ones that suit him.
