So they're going to make Yeo Jin bad? That would be an interesting twist? Was she behind what happened to President…
Made that comment before that scene, thank you. But I still stand by what I said. I find it hard to believe they will make part of the OTP go full blown evil in Kdramaland. Somehow they have to leave an out for redemption unless they are really going to do something unheard of for a Kdrama.

This just ramped all the way up to 11 on a scale of 1 to 10 MUST WATCH TV for me!!! I’ll watch basically anything with Moon Chae Won or Kim Kang Woo in it. You just put them in the same drama WITH the increasingly enjoyable to watch Lee Jin Wook plus Song Jae Rim?! My brain is going to explode from the awesome! I can’t wait!

I don't think she was behind what happened to Go. In a way, she would have been better served if he had lived and confessed to everything. If he dies, she cannot use him to get Do Joon. Seems like a bad plan. What I think instead is that she knew it would happen (because, duh) and she was using it to make it look like she did it - to instill fear in everybody. However, it does seem she is going down an irredeemably dark path anyhow.

Still not sure how I feel about this drama as a whole package. I just don't love Choi Ji-woo and have always found her so blank and odd looking. But after episodes 5 and 6, I am so in love with Lee Sang Yoon that I would walk through hot coals to watch him read the phone book. Just the perfect mix of super sexy and super adorable. LOVE HIM!

I definitely agree with the first half of this post where we often see the male leads being abusive and yet they still get the girl and get praised and adored - even in their abuse they are shown in a positive light. That is very upsetting. But the part about the abusive in-laws and employers while correct is maybe misleading. Usually those elders and employers are being shown as brutal in those scenes, so even though they happen a lot, at least they are being shown in a negative light (as they should be). I think this makes a difference between the first and second cases. Good article!

This drama's flaws are really starting to get to me. I mean it's not terrible, but just soooo disappointing. But in the realm of disappointment, do you know what bothers me most? That they haven't given us more on Gwi's backstory! I mean they hint at some really meaty stuff there and we all know Lee Soo Hyuk would totally kill it if they gave us some juicy emotional flashbacks, but they don't! SUCH A WASTE! How I wouldn't love to see early Gwi when he was human and how and why he became the good vampire's apprentice! And then to see why he turned evil! And then see him fall in love with a human woman! ARGH! So much good stuff that could make him a much more interesting bad guy and they do NOTHING with it. Stupid stupid.

The main mother-in-law is downright tolerable compared to the other one. She is just horrific, as nasty a piece of work as I've ever seen in a romcom. I'm so put off by her that if she doesn't get her come-uppins soon I don't know if I can keep watching. Maybe I can just fast forward those parts. She needs to be thrown off a bridge -evil witch!

Still can't tell whether Lee Bum Soo is the bad guy or not. Guess that's how you write a good character?
Exactly! The best antagonists are gray not pure evil. I hate the 1D bad guys. I think this drama has bad situations more than bad people and it's the choices they make when confronted with those situations, added up over time, that tip the scales to them being more bad or more good. Heung Sam has maybe made more bad choices than good, but he's definitely not all bad at all. I even root for him when he's up against someone I find more evil.

I've watched a few episodes of the anime and although very well done, found it a bit dull at times. The movie is definitely NOT dull. It is horrifying as can be - amazed I didn't have nightmares. So if that is what they were going for, good job. There were some additions I liked to the story that I never saw in the early anime episodes, like how it is set in our world by showing remnants of our technology in the helicopter and bombs, etc... And I like the through storyline about technology being banned which all hints to a greater conspiracy. I don't know if that eventually shows in the anime but having it right out front made the movie more interesting for me. That said, and I guess it's just because a movie is so short, I think it was sorely lacking in character development. I just couldn't care about any of them very much. All in all, as an adaptation, this is miles less successful than the Rurouni Kenshin movie (and I did read that entire manga). However, it was still enjoyable as a movie and I am eager to see the next one.

Episode 7 - EPIC FIGHT SCENE! EPIC! As a lover of fight scenes I was just drooling! Totally over the top and intentionally…
Awesome comment! Cruel City still takes the cake for sure but Last is good too in the fight arena.

the recent developments remind of Story of a Man. a group of misfits and a con.
Yep! Story of a Man is one of my top dramas of all time and this has that same vibe even though the set up and the bad guys are quite different. Story of a Man had light moments and almost kind of graphic novel like moments in amidst all the darkness and drama and this does too, but even more so because there's so much awesome fighting.

Um. Hm. Impression after two episodes: Bring it on haters, but I think this is only ok. I mean, it is undoubtedly…
It wasn't enough that his sister is terminally ill, but then his mom had to die because the rich people of the world's most evil hospital wouldn't operate on her because of a VVIP that came in after - while he had to watch her die, and to top it off his father is an abusive drunk gangster. Any one of those 3 things were enough, no need to pile it on like that in so much miserable detail. And the hospital itself and all the VIPs are just even more evil and makjang than usual. The room where the sleeping beauty stays is just so science fiction. And then in episode 4 our hero seriously saves the whole hospital from a nuclear meltdown - really? Is he a doctor or Jesus? It's a story I think could have been told, and enjoyably so, without making it quite this outlandish. And these are just a couple examples.
On The Time We Were Not in Love Aug 17, 2015
So happy Ha Ji won and Lee Jin Wook are finally free of this dog. What a pointless waste of their talent and good chemistry. Their chemistry was good enough that they need a do-over. Preferably a drama with a plot this time, one that makes sense would be even better. The fact that they could continue to act this thing out shows what true professionals they are.

This is still not very good, but episode 11 had a surprise that made me giddy! If you love Arang and the Magistrate, it will make you giddy too! I knew nothing about this actor's appearance in this drama so it was a well kept secret, so excited!

Um. Hm. Impression after two episodes: Bring it on haters, but I think this is only ok. I mean, it is undoubtedly VERY entertaining. The directing and the acting are both good. It's slick and stylish and exciting. BUT isn't it just a bit ridiculous - I mean even more ridiculous than usual for a Kdrama? It's just so over the top and goes all the way to 11 with the crazy. And that's just the first two episodes. I am going to watch it since I did say it was very entertaining, and I appreciate how committed they are to the crazy. But still, I don't get the crazed adoration?
