Every time someone looks at Han Li and say "He looks average" I'm like "You casted Yang Yang and say…
Said it yesterday, Yang Yang goes from looking not handsome to kinda maybe handsome to blindingly handsome and then back again. And, the face angle after face angle is on point. Not sure I have ever seen so many of one actor in one drama?
Anyone else finding that they’re talking a little too quickly and you have to like rewind or make it so it goes…
The visuals do not seem to line up with the information flow. First time in a long time I have to run the drama at 80% playback speed just to read and think.
Never was a big Yang Yang fan. However, IMO he was made for this role. He is playing the personification (so far) of the protagonist - the anti-hero hero Han Li. He is walking the walk and talking the talk and still playing the face card.
If you are sure you want to go down the mortal to immortal cultivation rabit hole? The fandom site is probably a good start (below). Be forwarned that its addictive and it may or may not mess up your drama experience (e.g., giving to much away too soon).
Sorry DingDong - I did not mean to insult or imply ingnorance. This cultivation story is at the center of my all time favorites and I went too far. Its on me - will do a better job at sharing my opinion next time.
I have just wateched first 10 min of ep 10, but can't put this question off my mind...is ML gonna land in trouble…
Its kill or be killed in the space the ML is in. All participants are aware of that fact. Morals are not playing a part in the garden visit nor in cultivation in general for that matter.
the CGI is really a let down. I was expecting very good CGI. The story is not bad. I find it ok, but I am not…
Not just standarnd CGI. It actually includes an 3D technique using motion capture to animate the faces, fight scenes, some landscapes, etc. It helps to create the moiré effect on the vegatation, landscape, etc. providing colour depth, depth of field, and a fantasy effect. The use of live action (on location), 3D rendering, and CGI are creating a cross between the donghue and a drama (leaning towards a dongue) making this drama a vfx first round masterpiece (so far). Suggest taking a look at the dongue that ran for a number of years as a point of reference.
After reading the comments I'm literally on a pause with this drama cause some say it's pretty impossible to cram…
I would not want to miss out. To get the full effect of this amazing cultivation story its advisable to experience all 3 genres. The novel, donghua, and the drama. They all offer a fresh/new perspective and then its just a matter of taste. The same donghue team did this drama working closely with the novel writer. True I prefer the donghue (so far) and I am still enjoying the sht out of this drama.
Please can someone explain? In most series the protagonist is obviously struggling to develop, but ultimately…
ML is not a hero he is a cultivator with hero tendencies - trying to do the right thing under the wrong circumstances. He is a weaker man navigating the sect world as it presents itself in a kill or be killed situation. If we look back at his Masters ultimate mantra the goal of the ML is to live immortally as a mortal.
