Depends what you're looking for. I personnally find it pretty boring, badly directed, badly lit, and badly written.…
Its not the lighting its the 3D effect. Feel like this is an uniformed opinion. The drama so far is π₯π₯π₯. Highly recommended though you may want to do a bit of background research before starting so you know what you are watching and in turn how to critique it. That and the first two episodes are packed with info so it may seem slow. Good luck.
Wasn't it classified as a Xianxia all along? (MDL tags are often wrong)
mortal to immortal journey starting as a ("realist") and moving to a xianxia. how I interpret it. no matter the classification, this is a 'new breed' of novel to donghua to drama leaving in as much detail and resolution as possible.
Is this moving from a wuxia to a xianxia to a xuanhuan? Starting to wonder. They are managing to keep the wuxia (real) in the ML's fighting form and hero making though his burn them up with a straight face and walk away is more kill as needed vs battling evil. That fact that the genres are moving around at all is ππ»ππ»ππ».
Its a wuxia/xianxia drama hybrid. Front end is wuxia and the further we get into it the more it morphs into a xianxia - though the hero spirit and fighting style of the ML stays true to wuxia.
In fact, it's not what you think. There are two huge expenses. First, the drama is shot in real scenes, which…
Talking about the physical production involving humans on set. More humans cleaner cable work. Not commenting on the vfx. Am enjoying the vfx - its feeling like a hybrid drama/donghua and I fck with it.
BTW - the director/production team/writers call it a "realist xianxia"
