MDL Rating Correction: forget MDL's flawed rating system that is being exploited by 'haters', I am officially declaring this drama's correct rating (so far) is 8.7. For me its the writing, directing, understated acting, intrique, entertainment, and the visuals (hot on hot and then more hot). Would anyone else care to offer their 'real rating' opinion?
This drama deserves an 8.8 if I keep in mind MDL standards. They have given 8.6 -8.8 to a lot dramas that didn't…
The algorithms here on the site are outdated and bad actors stepped in from day one to exploit the weakness and set MDL's rating systems 'starting point' low. A complication that is impossiible to overcome/correct. The only way to get the rating to go up at this point is for everyone watching to rate the drama at 10 per episode and write a 10 review. Even then, at this point 8.4 would be about as far as its going to get and even then each time the rating does cliimb someone/someones has been/will be actively working to bring it back down. Its such a crime really.
At this point in time - anticipating episodes 27 & 28 - if we found out this drama is meant to end in deep sadness (or an open ended 'cheat' heavily indicating the death of one or more of the main characters) would we still keep watching?
That 'fishing' convo was so realistic. That was no drama in the drama - imagine that. The 'I am not picking up what you are putting down' part saved a good 3-4 episodes. How refreshing. Even the 'you do you - I'll do me' part was worth the drama watch alone. This writer/director seem to not be taking us for complete brain-dead Cdrama idiots. Makes me want to send them a hand written thank you card.
No comment. I am used to Douban so all MDL ratings look super high to me.
tnx for the info. i appreciate it. seems to circle back to the accent/pronunciation issue (e.g., Ren & Wang). makes more sense. can easily see the dialgogue, line delivery and accent being a good guage for the actors abilities and the value of the drama.
