I love how soft and tender the male lead looks whenever he looks at the female lead, especially in Episode 30…
He has cat-like eye stares. Like he is hungry or needs water or wants to be petted or wants to go out. And, he was perfect. In fact, I am not so sure he had to do too much acting vs just pull himself out of himself.
If banxia forget Xuan ye at the end I'm sure we all are crying more and it's broke our heart I'm glad she remember…
Memories are stored in the body and can be a double edged sword. Some people are relieved to have the vivid memory and some are better off going without them. It was important for the ML that she remembered. It seemed the FL was not so convinced.
And so the drama ended. And the last 6 episodes were all over the place.I am not even joking, there was one moment…
When she was standing on the dock where he was fishing and he tried to break up with her. The look on her face when she turned around in bewilderment and started crying was heartbreaking. Even her eyes changed shape to big and round and so very sad. Was amazingly well done.
I thought a good night's sleep would help me calm down and feel less disappointed about the ending... but NOPE.…
Felt and thought many of the same things. After some processing time my thinking shifted: 'I promise you' is human speak. 'Necessity dictates' is demon speak. The further he moved away from playing human back to being a demon beast the less human speak was real or necessary.
But what I still don't understand. Didn't Xuan Yue and Banxia have 5/6 years age gap? How did the child actors…
They called their ages outloud in the drama - she was going on 19 and he was 22, 23 or was it 24? To lazy to go back and find his age. Was later in the drama rather than early. Not such a big age gap.
It is not clear to me that Song Zuer is completely out of the woods yet. I suspect bc of her extensive pipeline…
Two years ago, it was at 90% clear that the mother was a fox demon (at least by half). Something got lost in translation? And, yes, FL would not have survived in the panter demon clan nor the demon world at-large.
Characters: - Beast of Burden high five goes to Chi Xue (Bunny Boy). The characters' endearing, jarring and at times inconceivable expressions represented what was going on inside the heads of the surrounding demons including our ML illustrating just how different humans and demons think. That divide was masterfully maintained in the Chi Yue character. The actor did a wonderful job.
- U All That high five goes to Jiu Cang Ming (MLs Father). The Isaac Newton of the demon hunters. The impact he had on all their lives - demons and humans - throughout this drama was immeasurable and understated.
- U R Almost There Sista high five goes to Fan Shuai Qi (Female Commissioner). She demonstrated the version of what modern women think is gurl power and equality to the point of detriment to herself and the man she loves. An antiquated idea that feminism - thinking/acting like a 'powerful' outspoken man - is the path to female equality and in turn happiness is misguided at best. The loving and joyful take care of others moment she had during the shopping spree ended up putting her finally on the path to the love and protection she herself needed from her man. The look on his face said it all.
- Perception Prince high five goes to Zi Kong (ML Panther Brother). His ability to see into the human world and rapidly understand what is right and wrong within that context was admirable. You could see 'the means matters as much as the end' light bulb going off in his head scene after scene. Well acted. Can imagine that Cao Jun would have been a wuxia star had he been taller which is a crime of modern day dramas reality.

Agree. 1. If she is hired again is the key though investor risk tollerance at this point would have to be sky high. Also, the success of the dramas that were released by the regulators does matter. Not sure the ending to this one is doing her any favors at the moment. 2. She has a serious friends and family problem which moving forward will fall directly on herself. No more 'I did not know' passes. IMO its still 60/40 until she at the very least closes her agency.
Was that or was that not like being guided on a slow walk up a high hopeful hill with someone reasuringly whispering in your ear 'love conquers all' only to end in a 2 episode gentle shove over the cliff at the top into oblivion? ARGHHHHhhhhhhh. WTH. Probably could have, probably should have, stopped at ep.34? Nevermind, let me go back to The Apothecary Diaries for a much needed brain vacay and then wait for Veil of Shadows to show up.
