What a delightful reminder of how subjective Drama watching is! I dropped 60% of these, loathed a few, and avoided many like the plague. Of the few I liked, only Queen In Hyun's Man and Coffee Prince came close enought ot bingeable to vote for. :)

examples of 'dumb you down' dramas on this list?
Because you asked sincerely and politely, I will answer in kind: Misogyny - the FL subsumes herself entirely to the ML's will, to the point of NEVER calling him by name, or even affectionate nickname, even after they are married. He is always "Boss" (or its equivalent). To promote that idea as "romantic" is VERY deleterious to cognitive competence." That's why my answer to the question "what is wrong with Secretary KIm?" is "almost everything" :)

Too many of them are actually bat*** dumb for this custom list to associate 'Best' with 'Do Not Dumb You Down'
I agree. I voted for some Dramas that were not necessarily my favourites but which definitely did not dumb down, like A Poem a Day - its constant use of beautiful poetry was a major reason I stuck with it.

Review Love Family
You should post this review as containing spoilers.
There are no spoilers. I give no details AT ALL - noble idiocy is a much-used trope in East Asian Dramas and takes many forms, mentioning that the trope is used is not a spoiler. If I gave details about it, that would have been a spoiler. Unless you're referring to the comment about the actor who played the younger sister, and that's not a spoiler either since it happened in real life long after the Drama finished.

I was loving this drama... then ep. 13 happened. I am talking about the kiss scene. Kissing someone drunk is at…
THANK YOU for posting this spoiler! I was getting a little weary of the way the Drama was reverting to tropes - the male lead NEVER apologising for anything at all, ever, even when clearly in the wrong (the FL putting salt in his coffee was a great scene highlighting an instance when REALLY should have apologised), and his increasing infallibility. THIS was a deal-breaker. I happened to be in ep 13 when I read your post, so I jumped to the scene in question, and you're absolutely right. Unforgiveable and inexcusable, ESPECIALLY in terms of the message it sends. Does no one remember Park Shi Hoo?! I'm dropping it now, and owe you a debt of thanks for the heads up.

RACING through this one. The lead couple is cute enough, and in the first 8 eps, the FL subverts Drama tropes often enough to keep my interest, but I have ZERO time for "He He", so I'm FFing EVERY scene he's in, without exception. The Kendo Queen is pretty much the same too. I'll probably make it to the end without dropping, but this is antoher example of wasted potential. PHYOMS, Le Coup de Foudre and Go Go Squid raised the bar too high for most recent C-romcoms to come close

I'm with you all the way on the cute freckled thing..but not enough to finish it...
Good Call - After 7 years of Drama-watching, I'm still battling my Obsessive Completion Disorder. :)

I want to stick with this Drama for the ChengShi ShuangShuang pair, but the ML is just a bully and a stalker. Wrist grabs are violent and wrong, and even K Dramas have left them behind, but in this Drama so far, the ML has grabbed the FL by the wrist more times than I can count. As I'm only 5 episodes in, I think a drop is likely here.

why can't people just give this drama a break, its more than 10 years old already, no need to discuss about it…
There are FAR more articles online (including right here) praising this merde mountain than damning it - do you also tell them "there's no need to discuss about it forever"? Or is it only its critics you tell to be quiet and "move on"?

Title Back to Home
I tried leaving a review, but even though I endured 9/18 episodes, it wouldn't let me, so here it is - as a warning to ther potential victims:

I tried REALLY hard to give this a good go. But in the end, the troglodytic chauvinism was just too much, and I dropped after lurching to halfway.
I did not realise when I started it that the "Home" they were going back to you was in the ancient past, when men ruled by right, women were stupid and thoughtless and needed saving and to be ordered around by their infallible male partners. I kept hoping to see, JUST ONCE, where she was right, and he was wrong, but when that sisn't happen even once in the first 9 of 18 episodes, I bailed. What we got instead was him sulking and pouting whenever she disagreed with him about anything at all, her apologising for daring to upset him, and him CONSTANTLY calling her "stupid" "dumb", "thoughtless" - those actual words used in the subtitles. It was such a common refrain that when she described HERSELF that way, he always said "yes, you are" . Too UGH for words.

These are ALL in the "you couldn't pay me to watch them" category, although I am tempted to check out "It's OK to Not be OK. I have a massive allergy to the dire Kim Soo Soo Hyun, as I do to Lee Min Ho, but Seo Ye Ji I like, so I might, just MIGHT, give it an episode to see if I can stomach the male lead for her sake. Everything else is a hard pass.

You may find your opinions not as unpopular as you thought. I avoided Another Miss Oh for pretty much the reasons listed, dropped W, was SUPER-frustrated by the same things that annoyed you about Kim Nana. You are never alone on the Interweb Tubes. :)

From Avengers; Endgame, that you can’t actually change the past because it causes a paradox.
Ah, thanks. Most Asian Dramas do have that 'no change" thing, which I actually find depressing and pointless. Personally, since time travel is by definition an impossibility in this Universe, I have no problem with stories that don't try make an illogical impossibility behave according to some definition of logic - if it means I get a happy ending :)
