i almost didn’t watch this because i thought it would be terrible, but i’m glad that i did, because i actually liked it. of course a lot of things could be better and worked more into depth if the episodes were a little longer. this is the only downside of most korean bls to me, the time-constricted plot sometimes feels too rushed. it’s not bad plot, in fact i think they have my favorite plots nowadays, and it’s also not bad acting at all. i feel that with longer episodes, more things could be explained and explored. overall was enjoyable. main characters had great chemistry, the friend group was fun. i don’t think the story is boring, it’s just not for everyone. i’m fond of slice of life, and the whole school/college friends to lovers to enemies to lovers again is my thing, so it didn’t bother me at all, but if you like more action, think pieces or more “exciting” dramas then probably it’s not for you. about the kisses, it didn’t bothered me, i wasn’t expecting a full makeout scene from a kbl in the first place so i was not disappointed. it’s a short, simple cute drama imo, a solid 8/10.
this is, 100%, one of the best, if not the best bl drama i've ever seen. in just 8 episodes they managed to convey such a great emotional plot with a perfect pace - nothing feels to rushed as it's common with short dramas. this drama is the complete package: made me cry like a baby in some scenes, laugh a lot in others, and the main cp has so much chemistry is insane, both characters are incredible touching and overall very easy to love and cheer for in their own ways. i also love their little friend group, and the way everyone came around because of their love for tae myung ha. i loved this so much, i cant believe it's over.
i have mixed feelings for this one. on one side, this drama is really good, way more angsty that I anticipated, but I enjoyed it a lot, and it was one of those dramas that made me cry my eyes out, and feel in immense happiness when things worked out. However, there was lots of things that i kind of desliked and that I thought it could’ve been better. what i enjoyed: 1. fml and ml’s chemistry is insane. really. yang yang always has good chemistry with his co-starts but here it’s just on another level. their scenes together made me hold my breath, and when they got together and had all this cute fluffy romantic scenes i was giggling like a little girl. 2. the whole camaraderie between the shili tai squad was really touching. I cried a lot because of their mutual trust, their goals and their honorable values. The guys grew on me, and I cared about them deeply by the end of it. 3. I personally liked the way the flashbacks into their youth were portrayed. usually flashbacks in dramas are my pet peeve but here it’s not overbearing, it doesn’t take 40 minutes to show us what happened, and it’s just very nostalgic without being boring. however, there were things i truly desliked: 1. Fml was absolutely the most passive character I’ve ever seen during 3/4 of the drama, and although I know it needed to be like this for her to grow in the next chapters, and there’s a whole hierarchy and power play in her relationship with her mother, it still bothered me. When she was a teenager I could understand, because she was at an age when she did depend on her parents and there’s choices that a teenager just can’t make. But as a whole ass adult, in her old age and in her big girl job, she just does everything, and I mean EVERYTHING her mother says. the woman literally says “well I don’t like your work, so i’m gonna get you another job” and fml simply just……. pouts. I think even the brother acts a little more decisively then her, because he's clear about his mother's nature, but not fml. Again, I would totally get if she was still a 16 year old girl, but she’s almost 30. it took her 36 episodes to finally lash out at her evil mother. 36. 2. i think because of this passive personality, fml is a character that s hard to love at first, and it took me some episodes to like her. I think I mainly disliked the way she dealt with things in the first episodes, and sometimes I got the feeling she was very egotistical in a naive way: she doesn’t realize it herself, but she wants the happiness he gives her when they’re together, but ignored the fact that she hurt him badly once and that at any moment she could leave him because she wouldn’t be able to oppose her mother for him. not to mention the fact that she keeps insisting he never done nothing to fight for her, when she's the one that pushed him away and break them apart. it made extremely confused. thankfully, she gets a lot better by the end of it.
this is by far one of the best, if not THE BEST youth drama i've ever seen. Everything about it makes me feel so nostalgic: the characters, the atmosphere, the music, the way it is filmed... all characters are so loveable, and i caught myself dying of laughter multiple times. it's a simple, cute and funny lighthearted drama that managed to leave a deep impression in me.
this drama is spectacular. i cried, i laughed, and for a long time no drama could make me feel what this drama did. is such a pure lovestory, and all the characters are great. i recommend this a 1000 times. on a side note, i'm obssessed with her big brother and i would marry him in a heartbeat lol
they never break up or stop loving each other even for a second. there is a time where they kinda bring up the…
this sounds so wholesome!!!!! i think they'll probably change a little in the series because in the book a LOT happens but there's only like 4 more episodes or smth, right?i didn't read the novel, but at least in the series t i've ALWAYS expected Pat parent's to be more understanding than Pran's because Pran's mother seems to absolutely HATE everything related to their family, so i was surprised by how things actually happened in the novel. your comment really made me want to read the book!!
There is a discussion thread above linking to the novel, but so far this show is not related to the novel except…
i saw the thread, but apparently the translation there it's not available anymore! i also heard that the novel is more "on the bright/funny side" while the series are going in a more serious way, right? i want to read it so i could compare. but it's ok! thank you anyway! :)
