what a lovely drama! it's fun, lighthearted, and addictive. all the characters are absolutely lovable and there isn't a "proper villain". i loved all the couples, but the chemistry between FML and ML was the best! Sebrina did such a good job in this role. I absolutely love when female leads are strong and determined, like her. also the wig looked so natural on her, it didn't made her character weird at all. on a side note, this is the drama that made me fall in love with Darren Chen. i had only watched meteor garden before, and i thought he was good looking and a good actor, and that's it - however after this i'm obsessed! he was absolutely the entire package - handsome, cute, funny, kind of a brat - all at the same time. can't wait to see him as a lead in more dramas. this was such a refreshing drama on this trope, i HIGHLY recommend this one.
i loved this! tbh i don't get why the ratings are so low. i mean, it's not some super, deep, complex plot or anything but it's one of those lighthearted fluffy romance dramas with little cliches and no villains, no bigger problems, something to watch after you watched something more plot heavy and need a break. I don't get why ppl seems to think every single drama has to have a bigger plot or some huge drama, sometimes it's nice to watch something light too, like this one. i thought the main couple was adorable together, and i was amazed by itagaki mizuki! he was so cute as the ML! also, i don't think i've ever seen a drama with more skinship/kisses than this one, and i enjoyed it. also, even though it was only 7 episodes short, i think since it was so lighthearted, it worked pretty well and it didn't left a feeling of "unfinished plot", everything wrapped up nicely.
I decided to give this a try because of the hype - it seemed like everybody was talking about how good this was. when i started, i thought "this is just ok, i don't see the hype" but by now, don't think i'll ever love a drama more than this one. I wasn't expecting it to be so good, but it was almost perfect. The plot starts kind of your normal romance drama, but it gets so complex and captivating, and i was so hooked like i haven't been for a long time on a k drama. The best part for me was the characters. All of them grew so much during the story, and you can actually see and pinpoint the moments that were crucial for their development to happen. This character development happens not only with the main cast but with every single character, the hospital's patients, the lead's friends... everyone has so many layers, you can't help but relate to them. For me, even thought i'm obsessed with the main lead and i think he is one of the (hottest), greatest, realest and more relatable ML i've ever seen in a drama, with one of the best character developments i've ever seen, there were three characters that were my ultimate favorites. First, Moon Young, because she was a very fresh FL. it was a happy surprise to see a fierce, loud, and complex female lead, that speaks her mind and acts the way she acts. i don't think i've ever watched a drama with a FL i liked so bad and related so much, someone that touched me and made me feel her pain like she did. i wanted her to achieve happiness so bad, more than anyone else. Second, there was Sang Tae. I have no words for how amazing Oh Jung Se acting was. His character made me feel so many things at once, and taught me A LOT. third, the hospital director that was kind of a mentor for them, specially for Gang Tae. Tbh, I don't think there's a single unlikeable character in this drama (except for KMY's mother). The main characters have this amazing, incredible chemistry that just makes you wanna see them together all the time, and you can see how much they loved and cared for each other, even when they pushed each other away to protect themselves for their own feelings. The overall story is so great, so deep, and the way everything is connected blew my mind. Don't even get me started on the plot twists! i wasn't expecting them, so i was caught by surprise and left speechless more than once. Instead of a "tragic" romance drama, i think this is more about people's journey to find courage, happiness, and growth despite the obstacles life throws at them. A story about their path to accept themselves for who they are, no matter what. it shows an important lesson about owning your life, being your true self and find cure for your scars, moving on from the past and relying on people you love - your family, whoever they are. I've laughed a lot, i've cried twice as much, and my cheeks hurt from how big i was smiling in the last episode. This was definitely worth the hype, and i'm so glad i gave this a chance. This is so good than every other drama pales in comparison for me now.
Only eight episodes, 10-14 min each one , a low budget project, and yet one of the best bl dramas i've ever seen. the chemistry on this one is on a different level from a lot of other bl out there. even with such short time do develop the storyline, you can feel how both characters care for each other, and living up to the title, the way they look at each other is so intense. i wasn't expecting their acting to be so good, but it is. i'm happily surprised by this. it's so intense, at the same time it's sweet and i was squealing during the entire thing. i'm satisfied with the ending, too, and i didn't think they would give us a kiss scene, so i'm happy how it turned out. last but not least, the OST of this drama is SO good. i usually don't care about ost's at all, but this one is great. i really respect everyone's opinions of course, but i can't agree with the "generic plot" discussion at all. it doesn't even make sense to me. This is one of the freshest BL plots until now. i don't remember seeing this bodyguard-best friend trope in a bl drama yet. maybe in all of the straight romance ones, yes, but not in a bl. i mean, how many times did we get that engineer-college -student plot or something similar and ate it up even with the amount of bl dramas in this trope because it was good overall? i really applaud the fact that they tried something different here and i really want to see more different plots in bl dramas. for me, everything in this drama is good. my only complain is that i wish this had more episodes, because i feel like it wasn't enough to develop all the events in a more solid way. their chemistry is so good that i can't help but want more, too. I really wanted to see them after the ending's event, know what happened after that, but overall i'm really happy with this and i enjoyed greatly.
my opinion is probably not the most popular one about this series. i really liked, it was cute and mostly lighthearted, without heavy drama and super heavy topics and was just what i was needing at the moment, something sweet and kind of funny to take my mind out of more heavy plot dramas. However, there were somethings i really did not like that much and made hard for me to love this drama completely. so, what i really liked: - Ram and Kings relationship to me was the best one. in fact, turned out to be one of my favorite bl couples out there. i started with no expectations of enjoying a second couple more than the main one, but they were amazing! their chemistry is amazing, their acting is good too. since Ram didn't talk that much, every single time he spoke with king was so meaningful that i was always took by surprise. their dynamic was so sweet! Perth is adorable, and i was completely in love with his character and his little smiles. RamKing stole the whole show completely to me. i understand why they end up like they did in this 1st season, and i'm excited to see their development in the 2nd one. - the friendship between duen and his friends/bohn and his friends. all of their friend groups were so cool, and i particularly love when dramas portray loyal and healthy friendships like that. their friends were with them through everything, the good the bad, and it was really wholesome to me. i also appreciate a lot that all the guys falling in love with other guys wasn't a big deal to any of them - they were wall supportive and didn't care who their friends liked as long as they are happy. - Ting's and Tee's character. i wanted to be their best friend. they were SO supportive of their friends, and the funniest characters ever. - Cooper acting surprised me. i find his facial expressions really great. - there wasn't any super heavy plot that made me super anxious or anything like that. even when they had problems, it wasn't anything unnecessarily dramatic and i appreciate that, it's such a fresh take on BL's. - the second couples were all great overall. they all had different dynamics and it completely different personalities and they stole the show, specially ram and king and mek and boss. - I LOVED the way frong was so mature about duen liking bohn instead of him. this is so fresh on BL's - a cool, smart and mature guy that understands he can't force someone to like him back, and give up without trying to ruin the main's couple relationship. what i didn't like that much: - i thought that most of time, bohn and duen were so childish, specially compared with all the other characters. overall bohn is very immature and spoiled, but the part that actually bothered me was that he was kind of toxic with his jealously sometimes. he was jealous of literally everything and most of the time, it wasn't even duen's fault - he was just polite and sweet to everyone. Bohn always acted so rudely with duen when he was jealous, and to me it was just petty and unnecessary. had it been only the jealousy part it wouldn't have bothered me that much, but all the rudeness and the amount of times it happened was kind of upsetting to me. Duen confused me with the way he acted towards bohn. half of the time, even though we all knew he liked the guy a lot, he acted like he didn't care that much, or as much as bohn cared. even when he accepted him as his boyfriend, it was still like they weren't in a relationship. i understand that it was his first relationship, but he was always so hot and cold towards bohn and i couldn't understand why he was treating someone he was obviously in love with like that. i think it was only obvious how much he cared for bohn in the last two episodes. the way everyone treated him like he was made of glass upset me a little too. i think because of that, King and Ram completely stole the show for me. - the dub thing with mek's voice. i liked the actor, and i understand the reason for it, but i thought it didn't work out, it was always kind of off. i heard the actor won't be in the second season, tho :( - at some point, i though bohn - duen and thara-frong got really boring, the same repetitive things happening to them. it made me want to skip forward a lot of scenes, which was kind of troublesome since bohn and duen are the main couple and obviously have the most screen time.
overall, it's a good drama and it was way better than what i was expecting. it's not the best bl i've seen and i'm not completely in love with it as most of bl fans are, but it's great. i actually really enjoyed and i'm hyped for the second season!
Can you recommend me dramas like this one? Other jdramas and mpvies that I liked are Itazura na kiss, 5ji kara…
if you watch chinese dramas, i think Go Go squid is quite similar. the itazura na kiss thai version, Kiss Me, is good too. unfortunately, for J dramas i don't know any other that it's similar to this one :(
what is the real happen in eps 10 ?? the storyline is disconnected with eps 9.... because, suddenly their married…
there's nothing wrong episode 10! you're probably talking about the special after episode then, 10.5. Actually, all episodes have extras, and 10.5 is the continuation of the silly extras, that's why it doesn't make any sense. but the actual episode 10 is normal, related to the story.
i absolutely LOVE this drama. I kind of missed really this kind of sweet, funny, lighthearted cliche dramas and this one have it all. I'm crazy for Sato Takeru and he's so dreamy as Dr. Tendo, the role fits him perfectly. He's unbelievable hot, his acting is superb, his kissing scenes are awesome. He nailed it, but that was already expected. I'm a huge fan. Against what a lot of people are saying, i actually quite enjoyed Sakura's character and was surprised by it. I'm not a fan of this type of female leads, but she was more cute and funny than annoying, as it is usual in this type of drama. her character was so selfless, so caring, sweet, and she had such a big desire to become a better professional during the entire series that i couldn't be annoyed at her childishness at all. She has developed so much during the entire series that i ended up getting attached to her character. She was the greatest surprise to me. Also, i didn't, maybe for the first time ever, hated any character. Not even the characters that were romantically interested in the leads (maybe that one guy at the latest episodes, but just for a short period of time). Everyone in this drama is so nice and genuine that it's impossible not to like them all. They all acted like this big family and i love this, specially in medical dramas. I liked how they treated the medical aspect, and some of the patient's stories actually made me cry more than once, not gonna lie. I was also surprised by the kissing scenes - so many in a japanese drama! Overall, of course it was kind of cringe, sometimes i had serious cases of second hand embarrassment, but i think it was great. it was a great take on the manga, and at the final scene i had this big smile on my face. i'm glad i watched this! i was needing something light and fluffy to take my mind out of things and this was just perfect. the only downside to me is that i think 10 episodes was too short. they could have added more episodes, extended to 16 or something and made the story a little more slow paced - somethings to me happened too fast, but it was understandable with the amount of episodes. the selfish part of me wanted a second season just so i can see them together a little more, but to be honest, everything was nicely wrapped up in this season. it was a sweet ride! 10.10 i would watch again.
Asking for spoilers: is there a love triangle? Is there more than one couple? Happy ending for all the mains?
i wouldn't call a love triangle? since the main guy only likes the main girl, and she only likes him the entire drama as well. there's the ML ex, but she becomes part of the second couple, and it's a happy ending for everyone!
i absolutely love this. it's one of my favorite dramas of all times now. i just love jiu chen and lin xi pure love. everything in this is good, the cast, the acting, the romance, the drama... my only complain is that i wanted more resolution at the end, more scenes of the main couple. but other than that, it's perfect.
i liked this so much at first but at the end i just can't believe how bad this turned out. Yi Young starts being a blend character and there's close to none development at all at the end. i had high hopes for her but i was disappointed at how plane her character was the entire time. the male lead started out very intense and mysterious but became really boring really fast. the mystery, which was fresh and interesting became predictable and the last episodes were so draggy that it took me forever to finish, and even when i sat down to watch i just couldn't pass the 10 minutes mark. it was a very promising drama, but to me it fell flat. in a more positive note, Song Jae Rim and Park Ji Yeon surprised me. they were actually good, and probably the only characters with a personality in the entire drama.
on a side note, this is the drama that made me fall in love with Darren Chen. i had only watched meteor garden before, and i thought he was good looking and a good actor, and that's it - however after this i'm obsessed! he was absolutely the entire package - handsome, cute, funny, kind of a brat - all at the same time. can't wait to see him as a lead in more dramas. this was such a refreshing drama on this trope, i HIGHLY recommend this one.
