Do we need to watch other episodes as well to understand the story or it's enough to watch these two episodes??
Not really. it's 12 seperate stories. You can just watch 13 & 14.
But to set the premise - the connective tissue between all the separate stories is a supernatural character "death girl" that kind of haunts their school.
The death girl appears & grants wishes to those in despair but in exchange she turns them into stone. But don't worry. this supernatural element feels almost incidental to this BL storyline.
This is a decently made show, with a storyline of unspoken love between a nerdy tutor & a straight boy that starts in high school & ends at university. It's a nice premise, with sweet moments & an attractive main couple that you can root for. It's got problems though, it drags a lot and the story gets illogical but I like where they went with this.
ISSUES: i found issues mostly with the lack of logic in key parts, like the reasons that pulled them apart or the situations they found themselves in or like a character would be angry over nothing. I do like where they went with the story - it's just the how & why things developed needed to make more sense. It also might feel like a drag at times & I think it's because the supporting cast's storylines aren't really good at all.
However, it still is not a waste of time at all, it's got heart & a cute couple you can care about - and that's a big deal. I'm currently watching Nitiman, which is pissing me off with its dull writing- so objectively speaking, this show is fine, it's not one of those easily droppable shows. it's a 7 to 7.3 easily.
it's sweet but not gripping . go watch it if you've no shows left!
---Main Couple--- 1.Lukmo(seme)-Simai(uke) - Lukmo is a cold supervisor & Simai is his pushy intern (Rating: 6/10, seme is too young looking )
---Secondary Couples--- 2.Poq-Fiat - Poq plays the engineer and Fiat plays Nampu a junior who is chasing Poq real hard. Think they're the best couple on the show. (rating 7.8/10 - better storyline, better looking seme)
3.Maieak-Phob - Both of them are friends who now work as interns, Phob has a crush on his slacker & cheerful friend Maieak (5.7/10 unattractive looking)
4.Plawaan-Suea - highschool students, a student falling for a short basketball player (2/10 pointless to watch, theyre too young )
5.Both-NewYear - owners of a coffee shop who have a live in relationship. Everybody comes to them for relationship advice. (0/10, most annoying to watch, they have no conflict or storyline, serve no purpose)
The BL story track of Mark & Ou Wen does so many things right about characterization that I never knew I'd appreciate.
Love science gives us an uke who isn't timid & weak, but masculine & strong without taking away his gracefulness that comes from his subtle femininity - Ou Wen is a great creation. Ou's as strong when he fights as he's shy when he gets closer to Mark - it's done so well.
Mark is the seme, the boysih straight curious boy who is always the butt of the joke - who becomes a typical chasing flirt when he needs to & a soft emotional fool when he wants to lean on Ou Wen. Their dynamic, it's such an amazing balance.
Both of the actors really feel like the characters. The situations they find themselves in are absolutely delicious & love where they're going with it. I saw an episode highlight showing them kiss again becuase mark realizes he's jealous - im worried it might be too soon for them to be there, i really love the slow burn - alas let's wait for the 25th/24th to see what happens .
as someone else said on here, it's a very dry show. The main pairing are not exactly exciting to watch - it's got a very sober energy to it, quite dull & makes it easy to drop the show as it's hard to care about the storyline
I dropped this show twice and out of pure desperation I know I'm going to try again. i need help.
. i tried getting back into it & caught this scene of Jin & Bom, where both of them were in crutches walking past each other - it is is so random, why do they both have to be in crutches - couldn't nothing else happen to them?
I mean Bom/noh's persistent bored look on his face doesn't help one bit but oh my god what's with the writing of this show?this pair's story is so boring to watch that I rather the show end with them breaking up & just turning straight, leaving them with awkward memories for the rest of their lives.
also, how is Jin a playboy? there's no scene of him being one & he doesn't even look like one - he's got a bland presence n yeah, him being chubby doesn't exactly scream player.
the main storyline is about Simai, the intern(uke) who chases his cold & distant supervisor(seme), Lukmo. it's an interesting story but it just doesn't work because they cast someone who looks too young & soft w zero sex appeal to play the Seme ( https://kisskh.at/photos/ERLRW_3 ). not shippable at all! you cant do romance with casting like this, sorry.
Poq-Fiat (engineer& the junior) are the most tolerable pairing in this, they are well casted . Here again the Ukke/fiat is chasing the engineer/seme. they have lots of nice cute moments but that's just it, they don't have a full fledged storyline. In Love by chance TinCan had a proper storyline even though they were not on screen most of the time, this show didn't bother to do much at all w these two.
Phob-Maieak storyline doesn't grab me. its about two besties who intern together. the nagging Phob is secretly into his slacker bestie Maieak & their characters bicker like husband and wife. Their storyline isn't that interesting & the casting isn't great either.
both-newyear paring is the most skippable because all they have are lovey dovey moments non stop as a live-in couple/. like, i don't get whats their story line or what purpose they serve. Their characters speak so sweetly & so annoyingly that you wish bad things happening to them
should i watch this or read novel? i think a manga is coming too
watch it only if you've run out of BLs to watch. It's a only a one time watch with one finger firmly on the skip button. I honestly don't know what kept me watching maybe the Seme's looks started to grow on me? or maybe i think it's because I didn't have any other BLs to watch i guess?
To ANY BL FANS OUT THERE: watch episode 13 & 14. BL story between toxic bully & his pushover ukke.
I'm into the Bully-to-lover trope in BL but most of them have the bullies turn soft at the drop of a hat and just transform unrealistically the moment they set their eyes on their ukkes. This one however deals with it realistically.
The actor plays this multidimensional bad boy character well. it realistically shows his inability to healthily deal with his attraction, which does cross a line big time & then even more...so you might get triggered but it's pretty measured.
But then there's so much more to it. The show isn't probelmatic, it's just dealing with complicated subject matter, which is kinda real. This is a well made, short but good story line - yes it's toxic but it's also tender and it's got small moments of humour- which is a sign of good writing I've heard. over all it's written well.
cant believe this is from 2010. Xiao lin & Da Dong could work great as BL series leads today, this story can easily be unpacked into a good season of 8-9 episodes - just take out the supernatural element, which is quite incidental to the narrative and voila you got a classic BL waiting for you. Hope some thai or taiwanese production house thinks of doing this. We need a complicated, messy & sweet BL by now!
im the only one here i guess who is not ok with the age of the actors here, the cast look like kids, i prefer a uni setting . i don't know why this should be recc as a first BL - skimmed through 2 eps....all the couples look 12yrs old.
what a convoluted story. Sib kinda likes Pun (two boys on the poster) but Sib has a gf, but then all of a sudden there is this random Sib & Tar history that is revisited - what the hell?
Also, the whole time the show is serving us M&Pun storyline which follows a haters-to-lovers pattern which makes it confusing, becuase it genuinely looks like the show has switched gears to make us ship M&Pun, but it comes to nothing because Pun still likes Sib at the end of it- so it was pretty pointless.
Sib meanwhile after dealing w his gf, tar, & his brother M, then lands up with Pun in the end & there's your happy ending and I honestly did not enjoy this ride one bit. For a story about Sib-Pun, I saw way too much M-Pun,,this was just a weirdly shaped storyline.
Cooper has this persistent "naughty" look on his face that really sets him apart as the most convincing seme I've seen on BL. I don;t understand it, it's something about his smirk - he definitely deserves a better written show becuase my engineer wasn't up to the mark.
I feel like this should have a higher rating. I enjoyed it way more than I was expecting to, and laughed so much.…
agree. comments threw me off...done w 2 eps & its golden. the humor is absolutely fine and it's got the feels, with roles that are cast perfectly. this isn't some wonky directionless show the comments made it out to be - it's well made & thought out. I like it! I'm always hunting for a good bl since i've covered the popular ones, upon watching this I instantly knew i could stop searching and just binge on this -this one has the bl themes im into.
I first saw Theory of Love and tbh Offgun didn't mean too much to me (strangely somehow i feel it was Off's styling in Theory of love that put me off most)... but after this - I get it.
this is a story of innocent ukke's unrequited love with a brash semme who doesn't know why he always wants his lil boy around. Every other appearance they've made since this is basically trying to bring the dynamic in this back.
Personally, I enjoyed the series. Now I have nothing else to watch and by nothing I mean bl, someone please give…
history trapped (10), En of Love: Love Mechanics(7) , 2moons(10), tonhon chonlatee(6.8 or 7 for eyecandy), we best love & part 2(8.4 ..part 2 even better), oxygen(7.5), second chance(6.4), puppy honey(7 known for Offgun couple) recent bl fan here, here are some i liked, i'm assuming most of these you've already watched tthough.
A Classic BL. It's got the feels, sweetness & the heat.
it's about a young ukke, Shima, who soon catches the eye of his straight supervisor, Togawa, at his new place of work. Their relationship is realistically developed & perfectly paced with enough warmth, sexiness & depth that we can all relate with.
This is a simple gem but it has good rewatch value!
