Title 2gether
Another review of '2gether' pops up on the main page and once again I'm back to check the latest score for the…
Wow, that's a REALLY good review! I agree with almost everything, just have to point 3 things:
- Despite the hype within Thailand was high cause the novel was SO popular, people were really skeptical about this series, even the company was. The main producer of GMMTV said in an interview a few months ago that 2gether wasn't their bet for a hit this year, it was A Tale of 1000 stars. Maybe that's why some sloppy editing and directing were allowed since the beginning... GMMTV didn't even promote BrightWin or the series till 2 weeks before releasing, while other BL series of them the couple do events For months (just check Earth and Mix, they already done a lot compared to what BrightWin had done till February). Most international fans weren't giving this any attention, but it blew up after the premiere (a similar case happened with TharnType, but for different reasons)

- Despite being a veteran, Champ (the director) is really bad. If you watched any other series made by him I'll see that a lot of the flaws we see on 2gether are of his directing style. He was one of the reasons the Y girls were skeptical

- The way people got attached to this is really similar to MODC and both series REALLY went down hill the last couple episodes, but somehow people tried to see the silver linnings on MODC, what didn't happen with 2gether

Besides this, I agree with everything hahahaha

Gun has been recieving death threats and has constantly been linked to some gay couples break ups on thai media…
He has a notorious saesang that has been threatening him for a long, long time. It's not the 1st time he goes to the delegacy cause of this. Last few months he has repeatedly being accused of being the reason of influential gay couples break ups on the media.

Although I don't fall for all the antics that some fans come up with and get them "trending" in the worst possible…
That's my opinion too, but I tend to get a temper with this subject, sorry I seemed too harsh

Although I don't fall for all the antics that some fans come up with and get them "trending" in the worst possible…
But that's the point, Win did a terrible job on the intimate scenes, there was no scene were it seemed that Tine loved Sarawat back. The ONLY scene he did good was the crying scene.
While this, Bright was good on all other scenes, and just didn't deliver on a few scenes on the last couple episodes.

There's a clear double standart here. Most people don't realize how at the beggining most of the "opinions" against Bright were fabricated by chinese trolls, then people read so much complains about his acting that they just started to take it for granted. The same people overly praised Win at everything, as if he were more confortable with everything when all interviews show the exact oposite, he's unconfortable and Bright who make the things easier. Did you know GMMTV and some brands that had Bright as their face even recieved threats? Or that these chinese trolls paid advertisements at front of the gmm building just to promote another actor with Win? These are the same people that go around bashing Bright since 4/11 and you guys just absorted it. You may think that you didn't came across with any of these accounts, but you surely did. They pretend to be westerns or people from southeast asia to give them credebility, they pretend that they want the best for Win's or Bright's career just to bash one and praise the other.

Don't missunderstand me, Win is a great very hard working person, but people only overpraise him cause of these kind of trolls that are around since 4/11 throwing hate at one and putting the other on a pedestal.

Yes, Bright needs to improve his acting, but give the guy a break. It's not like Sarawat was a well written character. He was suposed to be the "cold no need to act his only virtue is being handsome" seme just like most of thai BL semes. He already gave us so much more than the shallow characther that Sarawat was suposed to be.

Gun has been recieving death threats and has constantly been linked to some gay couples break ups on thai media…
His ex suposedly called Taiwan a country, then it sparkled a cyber war between southeast asians and chinese trolls.

Since then he's been persecuted by chinese trolls on line trying to make him look a bad actor, even making up false acusations of actual hate crimes.

Most people you see throwing hate on him are influenced by these trolls.

Can someone break down what's going on with Bright (and Gun)? Twitter isn't helping.
Gun has been recieving death threats and has constantly been linked to some gay couples break ups on thai media outlets.

Bright has been a target from chinese antis since the incident of his now ex girlfriend, so they fabricate, distorce and dig up stuff that were already solved just to damage his image to thai and international fans.

GMMTV announced that both will be protected by a law team.

I get annoyed when I see people calling BLs or series like The Gifted or 3 Will Be Free Lakorns hahahaha

This one is a Filipino gay series, not really a BL series.
They make money throught fan meetings/endorsements on social media.
New (director of UWMA) and Mame (creator of TharnType) ended the running of both series broke and in debt, eventually they could overcome this and profit from it, but sometimes that's not what happens, just see that Why R U is having serious payment problems.

If you whatch other asian series besides BLs you'll see that the standart for ALL couples is not to show intimacy…
They don’t LOL
Most Thai BL are funded by the company itself, that’s why we only get poorly done university set BLs from there.
Some times the investment pays off, sometimes not. Only a couple of brands sponsor Thai BL (most notably one of soft drinks and tea, and Myss Cosmetics), the interview with New Siwaj that I posted on the other reply talks about this.

If they switched back bodies around episode 6-8 this would be a 10/10 show, but it dragged too much this. There were some fillers here and there. But I trully hope the preview from ep11 isn't another bait.

Dreamscape is doing Oh mando right? I was hoping they'd cast Tony and JC on main series...

They're are aiming at teenage girls with gay fetish, cause they know that this niche is very passionate about explicit mlm relationships.

Sometimes it becomes a hit (TharnType), sometimes is a huge flop (Why R U). It's a risk that some of them try to pay off, but it's not very common to succeed.

I believe you can’t read thai, but here it is an interview of a famous director of Thai BL: https://t.co/PYDQYRnI5B

Here is one of a HUGE producer of one of the major companies in Thailand: https://www.khaosod.co.th/entertainment/news_4468977

And don’t even try to say that they are both straight conservatives, both of them are openly gay.
These series don’t make any money on TV. They create fandom and profit from fan meetings, a straight series make a lot more money to a company than a BL in Thailand.

This is the reason why they are so mediocre, with poor plot and centered on universities.

Did you know that the History series was made through crowdfunding? Or that Gameboys started off as a 100% independent project? A LOT of bls are canceled every year cause they can’t earn funding. Excessive intimate scenes (on ANY series not only BLs) scare investors and it only make it worse if only BLs are doing this in the country.

And for your information, the Why R U company didn’t even pay the actors and TharnType company only profited after they started selling stuff of the series, while airing they were in a HUGE debt.

You failed to realize the main point of my comment: if you mlm shows have sex scenes and straight shows don’t, there’s no such thing as “push boundaries”. MLM will be targeted as sex only by the general public. And as much as they give some coins to international markets, THEY ARENT AIMING AT THE WEST! They are aiming other asian countries.

Your argument about artistry makes no sense. These are TV shows/web series. They NEED sponsors, the actors need to make money.

We aren’t talking about cult movies funded by the government or small cinema companies.

Your western ideals don’t matter to them.
