Someone who is filipino may tell me if there's a chance of abs cbn and/or black sheep doing a regular BL for kapamilya channel? I've seen that 2gether will be shown there starting this month, Black Sheep is under them.
I know they're making Oh Mando for iWant, but I really need more hahahaha
Despite Tony being a little "this is only a work" at first on the interviews, now he's so much more confortable making fan service with JC on line.
"Would the show have been *less* popular if they had kissed or had sex? Maybe, I don't know."
Yes, it would. It may have brought more crazy stans for them, but the show wouldn't be licensed for broadcasting on televisons in countries like Japan and Phillipines.
You can't demand a western standart for an asian show! BL shows having too much steamy scenes while almost NONE straight series have gives a bad light on mlm relationships in these countries! Most gay directors have been vocal agaisnt this, it only make a worse representation for gay people in Thailand. Only small companies trying to captalize on fetichist teenager girls keep pushing this.
PS: you can't use the standart for streaming series like Pornographer or movies like Malila or The Handmaiden, cause the target audience is different and the access is more "restricted"
Watching Gameboys has helped me figure out an issue that I have had with BLs for years. I'm one of the BL fans…
If you whatch other asian series besides BLs you'll see that the standart for ALL couples is not to show intimacy on screen. We can't demand a western standart for asian series. BLs are already known by the general public in Thailand for having "too much" touching scenes and that is bad for the lgbt comunity there, it reduces them to only sex.
People have to keep in mind that shows like Why R U, Together With me and TharnType (the only 3 with real intimacy between the couples) is that they lose sponsorship by having that on their show.
We all agree that 2gether seemed like a 2013 show and they could have handled better, but even straight shows with high sexual tensions (you can check any Sleepless Society on your netflix) most of the making out couples have are only simulated, not what we really see on these 3 BLs I mentioned. Imagine a "fake" making out scene on a BL? Western fans would call the company homophobic LOL
Also keep in mind that public affection showcase is a taboo for ALL couples there. TharnType had that amount of skinship cause it was 90% shot in a room.
Although I don't fall for all the antics that some fans come up with and get them "trending" in the worst possible…
While Win really did good on that crying scene, he was avarage and was the major cause of "lack of chemistry" that people point in 2gether.
Ok, it was due to bad directing and acting preparation, but it seems that people only pick up on Bright. Where one was good (intimacy, showing desire through the eyes), the other lacked (crying, emotional scenes).
I think they know the ending was horrible and no one liked (not even them liked it if we watch the reactions they did) and the new director seems to be trying to fix this mess. I'm just tired of seeing people point out only on Bright.
This had a interesting premise, but it kept walking on circles. By episode 5 I was tired of the same thing happening every episode, skiped to ep11 and wasn't disapointed cause nothing happened LOL
Win became a good actor cause of 1 scene crying while he was unconfortable at all the rest of the series and Bright becomes the wrost actor in the BL Industry.
People falled really easy on the chinese stans manipulation. Neither are good actors and most of the "unconfortable" scenes were due to the one people praise. Like??
But at least now they know each other enough to cut out the awkwardness some scenes in 2gether had.
Finally whatched it subbed and now I can say that this is such an improvement from the manga. The manga was just meaningless sexploitation with an out of nowhere ending.
On the live action we could understand what, how and why had happened to this characthers. I don't think it romaticizes anything (such as some famous thai BL do), it is very raw and crude about depicting two mentally ill people trying to cope with each other.
No page for the movie version. So far the only differences I see are in some of the translations for the English…
the editing of the cliffhangers they included on the episodes is different too and made some transitions clearer, such as the almost kiss that Pilhyun caught them.
You guys complaining about having a trailer you never followed thai and chinese shows right? Some thai lakorn and series have pilot trailers made YEARS before the series finally airs. In China is even worse, sometimes the series is ready and still gets shelved for years till it finally airs.
GMMTV makes mock up trailers every year (around october-november) to gater sponsors for their shows of the following year. Besides there's no comparison with a university based show and a show recorded mostily on open air. It's much harder to shoot and arrange queues. I recall that 3 Will Be Free took like 5 months for shooting while Dark Blue Kiss took only 2-3 months.
And you may hate GMMTV, but one thing you can do is trust them: if they included this on their 2020-21 line up, IT WILL AIR. It's not like some small companies that vanishes with the content.
I love what everything you said, but why do you have to insert the "incompetence of the government". As if it's…
I never expected to see someone defending Duterte on a LGBT themed show page LOL But hey guys, at least you aren't Brazilian like myself with the worst president during the pandemic...
Okay, I'm assuming it's not really BL. Way and Kim's relationship seems purely platonic to me. Way started to…
You missunderstood the whole episode LOL Way has been in love with Kim since they met, but only realised this when he went into a coma. He doesn't see the difference between Pam and Kim inside the body, he believes he is Kim. We still don't know if Kim liked him back, but everything is leading into this direction,

As much as I want to believe they'll shoot this, I can't be very optimistic
