Thank you so much for this very thorough review! I really appreciated the comparison you made because I've also…
So glad it's helpful for you! This contained my jumbled notes that I tried to make it readable. I think many 2019 ver fans would definitely be disappointed if they watched this one because all the things we loved about the previous one was missing in here. It still follows pretty much the same sequence of events, just in a dragged out way. I think if you were to watch it for the unrequited love storyline, it wouldn't be a bad watch. But we all know how long the wait was for their relationship to progress in the 2019 ver. For this one I was so anxious for it to happen at ep 30 already. I believe they got together in ep 34 only to have to split up in ep 36? It felt so draining that I was glad to finally finish it and review it.
I have mixed feelings about this, but it could turn out really good if they cast everyone correctly. Who would…
Someday or One Day is one of those gems where you love it so much you kinda don't want a remake but then you're excited at the thought of it at the same time. Casting choice would probably be an important factor for me. Can't think of any younger cast that would fit this role well, probably because I haven't really caught up with k-dramas lately.
Thank you! These are some much-needed reported information (there are probably more) that people should know before…
Exactly! I feel like it's similar to reading comments under an article about one particular k-pop group and other fan groups coming in to bash, drag, or make unnecessary comments.
I think the fact that he was ordered to pay the victim a sum of money shows that he wasn't all that innocent in this matter. Some people ignoring that piece of information shocks me.
Okay. There really is a lot of disinformation here. There are people who are claiming the situation for Park Shi…
Thank you! These are some much-needed reported information (there are probably more) that people should know before making comments. I wanted to say more in my original comment, but I didn't want it to become personal. There's a lot of factors to take into consideration when defining a person as good or bad and Yoochun has both. So I see why there are people supporting him and others that don't. I do want to say that drugs are an issue that doesn't define a person! Opinions are totally fine in my book, but slandering people isn't!
Is romance a main aspect throughout the story, because I'm a sucker for some good chemistry in any show I watch.
I wouldn't say it's a main aspect throughout the story. It's present in the beginning and then dwindles down to the other themes of the lakorn. I do think that Push has great chemistry with a lot of his co-stars and with Mild it doesn't fall short. However, if you're looking for a romance drama, this isn't one. It's focuses more on the themes of family and suicide.
Last update I saw last October, Song Weilong, Hu Yitian, and Liang Jie were invited to participate in the drama. I'm curious about who accepted/rejected it since they want to air this around July/August of this year with 40 episodes.
ma’am/sir I 100% AGREE WITH YOU !!! What was the ending tho LIKE UHHH THEY GOT APPROVAL FROM THEIR DAD BUT MOST…
Right?! I would've been fine with the ending if that at least broke it to the mom and got her help. That means that can finally be together and do one thing right for the drama.
My issues with Chinese reality tv shows is the access and language barrier. I just searched and this one is on youtube with subtitles. Will surely check it out! Thanks!
It was a messy drama. I don't even know how I forced myself to finish it. I think I just enjoyed them exploring different themes compared to the dramas I actually watch. Like I said in my review, I enjoyed everything outside of their messy relationship a lot more. I just don't know why people praised this one so much.
Honestly, I agree with what you said. I suppose they still had some "drama" aspects to it where one's crush could…
The tone was indeed refreshing as it could have gone a different way where the writers and director turns it into bubbly love story. I can't do much bubbly young romance dramas so I think it was why I really enjoyed this one.
What am I doing with my life? I've never seen any of these dramas! Ancient Detective has been on my to watch list for a long time now. For sure it'll be watched this year! Mystic Pop Up Bar and The Eight are also my list.
I haven't seen many of these dramas as I've been behind on K-dramas or skip out on a lot of them. I think out of your list, I can for sure attest to the High Society couple, Yoo Chang Soo and Lee Ji Yi. Their storyline and chemistry really outshined UEE and Sung Joon.
Some on this list, like the Fight for My Way couple, Kim Joo Man and Baek Sol Hee, I personally didn't find that they outshined the main couple but had a great story to tell when it was their screen time. Would I watch a whole drama with just their story? Eh... it depends.
Two of the few couples where I feel like they would have an interesting story to tell is the Descendants of the Sun couple, Seo Dae Young and Yoon Myung Joo, OR the Goblin couple Wang Yeo (Grim Reaper) and Kim Sun (Sunny). I have yet to see the drama for both of these but have seen most of the clips around the web. Both second couples seem to have great chemistry and an interesting storyline to follow.
Then there are couples where we feel like we would like to see more like the Boys Over Flower couple, So Yi Jung and Chu Ga Eul.
Some second lead couples screen time feels forced so that the drama will have a second lead couple or another love line thrown in. Kind of like The Bride of Habaek couple, Bi Ryum and MuRa. It felt like we pitied Mu Ra for not getting Ha Baek and Bi Ryum for holding a one-sided love for Mu Ra. So we wanted them to end up together.
I am glad that you liked it. It makes it worthwhile to pick up the Pen (or keyboard in this case!!!). After reading…
Haha definitely not! I enjoyed your song choices and I think it's okay that everyone has different tastes in music and entertainment. That's what makes it so fun, broad and interesting!
Enjoyed reading this post and checking out the linked songs. I don't watch much modern Chinese or Taiwanese dramas so I don't know much pop songs. I was kind of sad when I didn't recognize any song from your list. That just means I need to catch up on modern day dramas (good excuse right?!) ☺️
I remember stumbling on "He isn't worth it" by Shi Shi a few years back and enjoyed it. Didn't know that it was an OST song though. Some OST songs or songs played in movies/dramas that I enjoyed were:
1. Jeff Chang - Faith from Fleet in Time with Eddie Peng and Ni Ni. I went on a hunt to find it after that karaoke scene. I really enjoy older songs like this. That's why I enjoyed your recommendation of, "Don't leave me alone anymore" and added it to my playlist!
2. 831 - Miss You 3000 from Someday or One Day. I love hearing a good song from bands. This one hits harder after the drama and was one of my recent watch.
3. Della - I Love Him from Autumn's Concerto. This one and the whole OST was stuck with me for months when I watched it back in the days. She also released some pretty good OSTs for other dramas.
I wonder if this is anything like the Thai movie One Day?
I read the ending spoilers and movie summary elsewhere. Seems like it's a Chinese remake of One Day. However, I don't see articles stating that it's the remake. The only difference I see is that instead of Japan, it's in Finland.
I don't think we will ever see this drama air at all. I watched Avenue X's comments on this issue. It seems like all her future projects are indefinitely on hold and won't be aired. I've seen other comments saying that her past work won't be aired as well. I don't know if they're blocked elsewhere since it's China and all. She's going to have to probably pay a hefty fine to compensate for all of her current projects (ads, dramas, etc.).
I never really cared for her as a viewer. I'm just upset that she made comments like that about a child's life like it means nothing. Especially when she decided to go through retrieving her eggs and then doing all the necessary paperwork to get a surrogate mother, it's a lot more work than natural pregnancy. Through that whole process, she had so much time to pull back from it.
I can imagine these children growing up, hearing the words that their biological mother spouted, and being sad over it (or not care about it). That idea breaks my heart. They're innocent and don't deserve this crap. I could care less about the issues regarding her ex and her past that people are now speculating. Just give them a loving home.
