Other than the fact that currently both main leads are slightly dislikable, first episode was fun. Hopefully the momentum doesn't drop and that character development happens.
Ikr! I got so sick of romance stuff, like they always include romance in everything. Even thrillers and crime…
Dramas are a good distraction but remember to get some fresh air from time to time too, especially if you feel like shit. Well then, if I find anything interesting in the future i'll send em your way.

Speaking of odd plots, I might have binged something today and it was odd, to say the least: Shikaku Tantei Higurashi Tabito. There, more recs. Just tell me when to stop.

It took me 4 tries to actually properly watch NiF from start to finish, so I feel ya there. It is worth it though once you get into the rythm, but it does take a while. And yeah, I agree. Messy plot is sometimes oddly enjoyable, simply because of how absurd it is that you end up having a great time.

Rise of Phoenixes is a politcal one. Very NiF like. Aishite Tatte is another japanese psychological. Both aren't in my top dramas but are very good, though Phoenixes does drag in the middle, and Aishitte Tatte starts off as your usual everyday romance story. As for Kamen Rider, yeah understable lol, but if you ever have 20 minutes to spare, check out the first episode of Kamen Rider Build on youtube. That episode alone is enough to determine whether you want to keep watching or not, and you'll see some familiar faces. Just finished Re:Follower, and holy hell, it's a ride alright. The logic is all over the place, so is the plot, but it was a fun watch. And from your list I don't think I saw 3 Nen A Kumi: Ima kara Mina-san wa Hitojichi Desu, which I would urge you to start sometime. Another japanese psychological with brilliant performances.

I'm currently finishing Re:Follower (a psychological with a very bullshit storyline but it's a blast to watch). Will watch Kishibe Rohan Wa Ugokunai afterwards. Also ooooh, an anime/manga adaptation-ish. Once again, rare to see ones that aren't romance anime/manga, so I'll be sure to savour it.
If you haven't watched any Kamen Rider seasons yet, that'd be my current rec to you, but since it is supposed to be a kids' show it's definitely aquired taste we could say.
Rise of Phoenixes is one you probably have seen, but if not, take a look.
Ashite Tatte Himitsu Wa Aru is another that you might have watched, but if not, take a look.
Honestly with such similar tastes I have no idea what stuff you have seen and what you haven't before so I'm kinda throwing everything I can for recs lmao.

Gold Planning is coming out, I think it might also be about tomb raiding. The Golden Eyes is also about tomb raiding (it's kinda meh in my opinion, but maybe you'll like it). Candle in the tomb is also another series, though I haven't personally watched it yet. Eagles and Youngster same topic. Was one of my personal favourites. Mystery of Antiques is another, but I'm not sure if it's subbed yet. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Ive seen most things you've listed lmao. Might finally cross Lovely Writer off my list though since I haven't seen that one yet.
Gah. I just wish that shows focused more on plot and characters with a side dish of healthy relationship, instead of the "cold and bubbly dumb" or "smitten and rude strong" duos we see, whether it's heterosexual or homosexual romance.
Since you seem to be BL fan , keep your eyes out for Kei x Yaku: Abunai Aibou. Seems it might be something up with your alley.

Big fan of BL Historicals. But sadly though, the only reason they work well is because of the censorship for Chinese BL content, which in this case is a double edged sword. The ban shouln't exist in the first place (cause we're in the 21 century goddamnit), but it's because of the ban that BL Wuxias and Xianxias are made well since they have to replace the actual mushy stuff with real content and plot.
Like 2HA/Immortality's original novel had so much relationship drama at the end that I'm kinda glad the live action (if it ever releases) will probably replace it with plot (not to mention the abusive relationship with actual r*pe at the start of the novel).

YES to everything you said. EverNight season 1 is one of my favourite dramas of all time with the action, the scheming, the friendships, the world. Season two just completely disregarded everything they've previously set which made me angry as hell lmao. I've been trying to find dramas with good siblings and friendships as the main focus, yet for some reason it's harder to find any that don't diverge into romance,

I'm fine with romance on the side, but I just hate how that's been the focus of so many wuxia and xianxia, to the point where all we get is relationship drama and none of the fighting, magic, world building or martial arts we expect.
This is such a breath of fresh air from the mass produced romcom bullshit that’s just been churning out nonstop.
Is it JoL or NiF level good? Nope, but it’s enjoyable nonetheless
The fact that our MC is willing to do anything to protect his little brother, and that said little brother is willing to do anything for his him in return is— gaaaaaaaah. A stable family dynamic is some of the best things to watch.
If there isn't any plot, I guess there'll be something to keep people watching.

Also the Lost Tomb series is a hit or miss lol. Loved some of the seasons, and the others were just meh.

Though honestly he's more of a mix of your typical cold male lead, a hooligan and the mischief of the many ones on this list.
