I've only seen the first episode and honestly, it's better than half the stuff that's been released in the past 2 years in terms of costume dramas, even if it was only 1/4 of the lenght. Hope it stays this way.
Channel does photoshoots for basically every major actor/series in Japan, from Kamen Rider to BL so if you like jdramas, it's something to browse in your spare time.
Honestly, if we really wanna debate the whole BL thing or not for these 10 episodes, I vote to say this entire series was a getting to know you phase. Headcannon yourself what happens afterwards, because the series neither denied anything or confirmed anything.
As for story/plot, uderwhelming I'd say. Not a wow conclusion, but it's still a conclusion alright.
Overall even if it couldn't keep momentum, these 10 episodes have been time well spent in my opinion. Charming, fun, emotional and honestly very real feeling characters. Just wished it kept it's intrigue to the very end. Nothing exceptional, but a decent watch nonetheless.
Welp. Guess I'm camping until they announce whether there will be a proper sequel or not. Hopefully, so we can get a better ending.
I still honestly enjoy it. Maybe not as much as the start, but it's still a nice watch that's good enough to make me tune in each week. Never expected for it to keep its strong pacing throughout, just honestly a bit unrealistic when there were clear flaws from the start when it comes to direction on where this show was headed. It's lost its pacing and a lot of its intrigue, yet as a casual, non critique watcher, it's still a charming show that has delivered up until now.
Also, it's irking me that one comment is genuinely good criticsm of the show, yet the next comment is left by someone without anything of substance to say other than to simply create an echo chamber with themselves. These people are clearly setting a double standard for this show and this show alone which, like, really?
negative feets apart cause no one fucking knows what their relationship is actually supposed to be and neither the manga nor the promos nor the extras are helping to determine what fans say to someone who asks "is this bl?"
Just finished this today. Absolutely loved it, and I come in to the comments and it's a dumpster fire.
In short: If you don't like something, that's absolutely fine, but don't go running around to try and convince other people to hate it too. Same can be said for the opposite. People are allowed to dislike things you disliked.
Problem: It's fine if you genuinely don't like something for it's storyline, everyone has different tastes. But to hold BL to a double standard as compared to other series is absolutely mind baffling.
If it's not your taste, then just say you don't like the story and move on, because I do agree, the story is somehwat controversial and can be read in many different ways, many of which are less than ideal situations. No need to go bashing the actors just because the characters they played aren't your typical flowers and rainbow CP.
Obviously flawed, but has the classic unique J-Drama charm that comes with these psychological stories. (Also know as they have bonkers plottwists and so many plotholes, but they're extremely fun.)
This is fun but it just feels a bit empty. Has a lot of potential, and the actors arent bad at all but it kinda feels like a good and spicy vampire drama is just out of arm's reach.
I ship it lmao.
Give season 2. You cant end it like that.
God I love this series so much.
Also I love the typical japanese manga deliquent outfits. Everyone rocks them in the opening.
