It's a 10 year gap in the manga, same for the drama (Akira mentioned how he was in high school 10 years ago). The manga has them as 17 and 27, but I'm pretty sure the drama aged up the younger one by a few months/a year because from what I remember he was a junior, not a senior.
Wish we get more series like this. Slife of lifey but with a twist. Not much romance, not much over the top drama, just characters bonding and exploring the world they inhabit.
Though my ears might be blasted a bit even without wearing headphones, I hate that it ended.
Everything other than the (too much) yelling was just so perfect for a satirical, over the top comedy from japan. The fashion, the story, the setting, the cast (I mean, just glancing at it you shouldn't expect anything less when it comes to acting), together just made this strange, dramatic, shit show that somehow worked wonderfully. The innuendo and romantic undertones were also fun to see, especially since personally, this is how I want LGBTQ+ romances to be depicted more often. Not shoved in your faces, not as the main plot, but as a side story, like how many story-driven shows have straight romances as a side plot to add on to the main character's life.
We have this series for the light hearted, animated puppy romance and Old Fashion Cupcake for more mature, realistic and dialed down romance. Both are great so far- (May I mention that none of the two have a school setting? What a miracle.)
