Have you watched Ashes of Love or Love and Destiny?
Yes, but something about Ashes of Love didn't fully click with me. I personally didn't even enjoy TMoPB as much as other people either. I like the magic, fantasy and tacky visual effects, but romance wouldn't be the genre I enjoy most.
Thought I wouldn't like it when it first aired. Started watching yesterday and I'm all caught up. Aside from the usual Chinese drama flaws and tropes (like evil step mother and whiny/dumb female lead), It's really good. If you don't like poetry don't worry. It covers a lot of Chinese poems, but there's good action scenes and fluff scenes if your into that. The male lead is some overpowered jack of all trades that came straight out of an anime. But his overpowered-ness is not dislikable and certain enemies still feel threatening. It isn't amazing, but it's certainly one of the better dramas in it's genre.
Why do they always stigmatize that girls get poorer grades in school compared to boys? Apart from In A Class of…
Just trash Chinese culture. Even today some people throw out or give up their children simply because they're girls (thank god my parents love me). Most Chinese dramas either show girls as strong or courageous and determined, but almost never smart.
The first episode followed the novel almost perfectly. Really excited to see the rest of the series. I personally also enjoy the faster pace of the show <3
Sorry but I'm expecting Darren Chen to suck at ice hockey but the background sounds and effect will make it look…
ISTG He didn't even try to fake a note. Like I have first hand experience with knowing how hard violin can be (my first month I felt like snapping my bow in half), but the production should have at least taught him the basics... like moving your arm and fingers....
The reason this drama didn't get the attention it deserved is because I'm pretty sure during it's release time, it was being overshadowed by bigger and more well known productions like The Pillow Book. Thank you so much for making this article and bringing light to one of my favorite dramas of possibly all time ever since I saw it~~ The more new people that watch, the higher chance for a season 2 (which I desperately hope happens) :D For new people who want to watch it, give it at least 3 episodes, and you should be hooked by then.
Can someone tell me why the 10 Gate Assassins were after Jian Bu Zhi?Please mark your answer as a spoiler.
They had a hit on him first for being the son of the once renown great hero, but then probably found out the actual truth, which led to them pressing to murder him even more.
Ah so cute and heartwarming— Yes, cheese fest to its finest but it’s done well. Very funny, but not annoyingly exaggerated and a fair share of emotional scenes. Fights and general plot are good too. Every main and secondary main character is a freaking fluff ball I love em so much~~
This drama is heartwarming with it's fair amount of issues. I loved it anyways. VERY inconsistent... everything at times, but the characters are just really charming. For sure not an amazing drama, but It's one that everyone should give a try watching, cause you're almost guaranteed to enjoy it even with its many flaws.
Just finished. Very dramatic ending. Personally would have preferred a more "dialed down" conclusion, where everyone (Xiao Feng and Xiao Bei's group) all just hangout and chill together. Still a great series though, but ngl even as a Chinese person who's super into e-sports, the last episode went a bit overboard on the Chinese flags lmao.
The big brother little brother relationship is what I'm watching this for. God I'm livin' for the scene where they hold hands, let go to walk past a post, and keep holding hands. (For those about to ask no it's not BL. They both have their own female love interest.)
I kind of think you might like this show because FL is not annoying at all. I'm guessing the dramas you listed…
k thanks. I honestly really liked the female lead of AoL, but for some reason I just cant get myself to rewatch it like I do with every other show I enjoyed.
I'm not someone that watches slice of life very often, but this honestly makes me feel warm. Though I do admit I'm skipping the scenes with the bratty little child and her grandma, because it makes me wanna break something when they're trying to separate the 3 mains apart. I really hate love triangles, but don't wanna drop this drama, so hopefully it doesn't last too long. TBH I would personally like this drama more if it focused on how they can be non-related siblings and support each other throughout life, each with their own respective love interest instead of some bs love triangle.

I feel the new cast simply don't fit their roles :/
Hope it's good--

Idk... little makes sense but it’s still somewhat enjoyable.
