the rating on this is ridiculous. this is the most fun I've had with a drama since mlc. I loveee love love how much xqs and lsf are mirrors of each other and are now both basically denounced by their groups. can't wait to see where the plot is headed ><

cheng yi fan to cheng yi fan can anyone recommend other watchable drama of his that i can watch alongside this one? ((i can't bear the wait)) i know there's immortal samsara, love and redemption, and lost tomb 2 but idk which one to pick

exactlyy and even then, he starts off saying stuff like thinking those loyalties or heroic sacrifices were idealistic outlooks that only existed in fantasies. its actually after transmigrating and going through stuff that he rlly starts internalizing those wuxia ideas of brotherhood, justice, and adventure. additionally, the schemes he comes up with and his awareness of everything around him are actually very sharp for the modern person who just transmigrated there. the betrayals he faces are all very inevitable bcs no one in his position could've foreseen everything while adapting and watching his steps like that. people seem to confuse his openness and youthful expressions for naivety but its really not like that if they just paid attention 😅

man this shit is so good i have to rant in some mdl comment section bcs i got no one to talk to abt this...i'm attached to xqs already...he falls in love with the world despite it trying to swallow him into the plot...born to be the youngest...has the audacity of someone who has never been bullied enough...he's a gossip. he's a snitch. and he WILL baby brother his way into getting a chance at being sect leader bcs what's a little whining and begging compared to sect massacre.

right!! that and his sworn brother having a familiar face with his irl friend, feng lang being his creation which gives a natural initial attachment between them- him having nice heartfelt moments with those clan members...they've set it up so nicely and efficiently for any upcoming emotional tugs and conflicts!!

i watched the trailer first and the drama exceeded my expectations from the trailers. coming in with low expectations would probably make it all the more pleasant for you

don't believe the people who come and say this is mediocre. this drama is doing a fantastic job at the transmigration genre by rlly leaning into the satire and juxtaposing the harshness of the jianghu to the modern man. it's fun, it's heartwarming, and there's enough interesting set-ups to hook you! it also rlly shines by truly throwing the main character into all the vainness, power-hungry, scheming mindset of characters in the genre by pushing the mc towards a goal with a threat looming over him "i need this bcs of this" "i need this or else x dies" "i need this to save my life" etc etc. you really watch it and think "oh no...this is gonna lead him into situations...". the consequences of mc's actions also feels real and i cannot stress enough how refreshing his personality is!! he's SUCH a little brother/son like!! those brief moments where you get li lianhua being adorable in mlc?? WELL YOU GET THAT EVERY EPISODE HERE <33
