I'd be surprised if this drama turns out to be even just decently watchable tbh. These are the same writers as the previous two adaptations the bar is in hell but at least Cheng Yi and Li Yitong looks good and their characters seem interesting
yeahh! I mourned that a bit after finishing the novel bcs ear-length hair yu shuxin as mumu would've been so adorable…
the thing abt his leg is kind of like the closing angst- one last twist of the knife from the author before they separate and he goes through all this without her knowing until they meet again. i mean, i'm not a fan of the last part of the story but it's not that bad since they still get a happy ending and well...for socially upstanding and emotionally healthy reasons, i guess it lets the fl build her own independent life away from jin zhao and the dependence on him. also, the author seems liek they've got this thing for repeating tragedies. the trailer and stills seem completely faithful with the main storyline of the novel so yeahh. they'll probably separate. the only thing i see that has changed are the details and settings of the conflicts like that underground boxing thing, where the race takes place, the locations...there's also clips of jin zhao wearing uniform with mumu but i think those are more for promos?? the trailer makes it seem like their age gap are kept at least. ((btw, pls check the spoiler on your post to keep others from seeing it))

omg that last scene in the new trailer really got me hoping they'd change that separation but then i look at jin zhao's outfit (white sweater) and that hiking scene at the beginning of the trailer and i'm like. π......π yeah, they're not changing that bit abt his leg bcs why else are they friggin hiking but ughhhhhh πππ i don't want the additional angst why can't they just have some kind of long distance relationship i absolutely feel you the guy has been through TOO MUCH
The novel is still one of my favourites, i can't wait for this drama. From outfit to style, He Yu definitely matches…

you people are hating meanwhile i am sipping my juice having the time of my life watching cheng yi gaze fondly at cheng yi with the same intensity he gazes his wife ((ZSR, girl, i love you too)).
this drama might just be the one that finally scratches my itch after yu shuxin's track record of unsatisfying…
update: just finished it and it was great. i feared that this would be one of those exaggerated, fanfic-y gang/mafia variant type of setting but turns out, not at all! the novel actually felt realistic and grounded. the conflicts and development between ml and mc are well-written too. very likeable characters. the trailer seems quite faithful, can't wait to see how they adapt this ππ
As a fan of wuxia love stories like A Journey to Love, Sword Snow Stride, Who Rules The World, and Dashing Youth,…
you're confusing pampered, empathetic young master who starts from the bottom of the power scale (not even bottom tbh cause he had dormant muscle memory) to grow in his journey with "girly and weak". if he was fine with murder and loss right away after transmigrating that would've just been bad writing. also even if some wuxia main character was girly and weak, what's wrong with that? you just sound prejudiced. i agree that the melodrama was overdone that it practically reduced its own tension and angst, but that doesn't mean that this show has no depth either
this drama might just be the one that finally scratches my itch after yu shuxin's track record of unsatisfying romances with older-brother love interests. the novel has been so good so far i hope they don't fuck this up
